Margaret Elliassen-Yaczina - 67
June 19, 2022
Woodbridge, NJ
On March 22, 1955, an exceptional woman was born. Margaret Madeline Elliassen was known for many things, but her love for her family will always be at the top of the list. Margaret possessed a love of life, made rich by blues music, family, friends, vintage everything, travel, cooking, art, laughter, and alcohol. She was the sole proprietor of Tuesdays Child shoppe (consignment store) in Avenel For over 15 years. Margaret had traveled to Europe at least 7 times, as well as throughout Asia. When she wasn't spending time in New Orleans, Margaret could be found behind the bar at Monaghan House, strolling the streets of New York City, attending music events or hosting annual festivities such as "Pie Night," fireworks night, and the Fourth of July. She will be remembered for her love of music, interesting hats, plants, sewing, jewelry making, vintage artifacts, the color black, and of course the immortal cheetah print chaise. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Margaret "Maggie" Elliassen, and her brother Tom Elliassen. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Yaczina, her sisters Patricia Holden and her husband Nabil of Red Hook, NY, Lynda Elliassen of Port Reading, and Nora Zappia and her husband Mike of Carteret, and her equally exceptional nieces and nephews, cousins and far too many friends to mention. Margaret was a force of nature that will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. "Man, you know I done enjoyed things that kings and queens Will never haveIn fact, things kings and queens can't never getAnd they don't even know about it. . . "Funeral Services will be private.
