MARGARET C. (WANICEK) CASEY - of Woburn, died peacefully, September 10th, at the age of ninety-two. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert B. Casey Sr. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Margaret was a daughter of the late Barbara (Nelson) and John Wanicek. She was a graduate of Eastern high school and received her bachelor's degree in art from the University of Philadelphia. In 1956 Margaret met a young soldier, Bob Casey, who became her future husband. Together, while serving his country, Bob and Margaret moved all over the world. After retirement, they came back to Massachusetts, eventually settling in Woburn. For many years, Margaret worked as a manager for Mahoney's in Winchester where she oversaw the ordering of bulbs and plants, which she loved. Despite her busy schedule, Margaret found time to garden at her own home and was known for being able to revive plants back to life. Always ready for an adventure, Margaret's love for traveling began early on, starting with taking cruises with her husband. After his passing in 1992, she never turned down an opportunity to explore -- even if it meant going alone. Her free spirit was one that led her to visit six continent and dozens of countries, her favorite adventures being visiting an elephant and tiger reserve and riding on a camel through the desert. When she wasn't traveling, Margaret spent her time at the Woburn Senior Center where she was very active and served as a chairman on several boards. Margaret made everyone around her feel better about themselves with her smile and unconditional love. Her radiant smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Devoted mother of Michael Casey of Woburn and Robert Casey, his wife EvaMarie of Salem, NH. Devoted grandmother of Shana Marchand, her husband Jeffrey of Methuen, Jacklyn McPherson, her husband Jake of RI and James Ahearn of Salem, NH. Treasured great-grandmother of Arianna, Cameron, Jacob and Nova. Dear sister of the late Barbara Jablin and Elizabeth Rogers. Loving godmother and aunt of Margaret Sue Campion of MD and cherished friend of Joanne Collins of Wilmington. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 14th at 11 a. m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours prior to the service from 9:30-11 a. m. , in the funeral home. PATRICIA E. "TRISHA" (LEONARD) ROLLINS - of Croyden, NH, formerly of Woburn, died peacefully, with her family by her side, November 30th at the age of sixty-four. She was the beloved wife of 35 years to Peter Rollins. Born in Winchester and raised in Woburn, Trisha was a daughter of the late Marie (Manley) and William F. Leonard Jr. She was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School. For many years, Trisha worked as a para-professional at the Malcom White Elementary School in Woburn. She was patient, kind and dedicated to her students. Her greatest quality was her selflessness. Trisha placed the needs of others before her own, leaving a legacy of compassion and kindness. Trisha married the love of her life Peter in 1988, and together brought two sons into the world to whom she was devoted. She never missed an opportunity to bring them to sporting events and was always their biggest supporter. In the summer months, Trisha would take her sons to Wells Beach in Maine where they made many beautiful memories. Trisha enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, crocheting, and doing arts and crafts. She was also a wonderful cook but an even better baker, baking piles of delicious cookies every Christmas season. Trisha had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and even fostered dogs at her home for many years. She loved and adored her dogs Kelly and Brookie. Trisha will be sadly missed but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family. In addition to her husband Peter, Trisha is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sons, Joshua and William Rollins of Woburn. Treasured daughter of the late William F. Leonard Jr. and Marie V. (Manley) Leonard. Loving sister of William "Topper" Leonard, his wife Leanne of Virginia Beach, VA. Dear sister-in-law of Skip Rollins, his wife Rhonda of Newport, NH. JOSEPH A. PALMISANO JR. - A Celebration of a Life Embraced by Love On November 28th, at the age of fifty-two, Joseph A. Palmisano Jr. , fondly known as Joe Palm, unexpectedly departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Joe was more than a successful self-made man; he was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished son and brother, and a loyal friend. For 26 years, Joe shared a deep and unwavering love with his beloved wife, Helena (Martins) Palmisano. Their journey together began over 32 years ago, a match that stood the test of time and blossomed into a true partnership. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges, evolving into each other's best friends. Joe's world expanded with the arrival of his three daughters, Cassandra, Alexa, and Amanda, who became the center of his universe. Born in Salem and raised in Peabody, Joe's journey was shaped by the love and support of his parents, Joseph and Sheila (Long) Palmisano. His upbringing instilled values that propelled him to success, but it was his profound love for family that defined him. Graduating from Bishop Fenwick High School and later earning his bachelor's degree from Suffolk University, Joe's accomplishments were always intertwined with the love he felt for those closest to him. Joe's happiness found its zenith in the company of his family and friends. An avid golfer and cornhole enthusiast, he reveled in shared moments and laughter. Joe's larger-than-life personality, wicked sense of humor, and quick wit illuminated every room he entered. A dedicated coach to his daughters in soccer, he stood as their unwavering supporter, cheering them on in every endeavor. Beyond his immediate family, Joe extended his loyalty to a broad circle of friends. An ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan, his passion for sports mirrored his dedication to those he held dear. Joe's departure leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends, but the memories he crafted will endure, bringing comfort in the midst of grief. Joe is survived by his adoring wife Helena, his treasured daughters Cassandra, Alexa, and Amanda, who were his world. He is remembered as the beloved son of Joseph and Sheila Palmisano and the dear brother of David Palmisano and his wife Christa. The cherished son-in-law of Isaias and Fatima Martins, Joe is also remembered as the beloved brother-in-law of Freddie and Kristen Martins, and Victor and Amy Martins. His memory lives on in the hearts of his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Emma, Jake, Nico, Leo, and Max. In addition to his immediate family, Joe leaves behind a legacy embraced by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Though he is reunited with his dear friend Nick Diranian, Joe's spirit lives on through the enduring bonds of love and friendship he cultivated in this world. WILLIAM J. "BILL" MCMANUS - a life-long resident of Woburn, passed away on November 23rd following a brief illness. Born on March 4th, 1932 he was 91 years of age. He was the beloved husband for 63 years of E. Jacquelyn "Jacquie" (Murphy) McManus. Born in Woburn, he was the youngest of three children of the late Edward H and Mabel (Gordon) McManus. As a young man Bill grew up in North Woburn enjoying and excelling in sports, notably baseball, football, and hockey. Bill received his early education in the Woburn School System graduating with the class of 1950. After graduation, Bill continued his education at Northeastern University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 187th Airborne Division attaining the level of Corporal. His interest in sports continued into his Army days where he was named the Outstanding Player on the 187th Airborne football team In Japan. Following his Honorable Discharge from the U. S. Army he accepted a position as a Quality Control Engineer for Sanders Associates where he remained for his entire career. July 30,1960, he married Jacquelyn "Jacquie" Murphy, they eventually made their home in the Central Square section of the city. After an early retirement, Bill enjoyed working in his home and around his yard. He enjoyed being of assistance to family and friends completing projects around their homes. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at The Woburn Elks where he was a 50 plus year member. Sadly, in addition to his parents, Bill was pre-deceased by his sister Dorothy Galante, her husband, Oliver; sister-in-law Barbara McManus and nephews Jimmy McManus and Michael Moge'. He is lovingly survived by his wife E. Jacquelyn and his brother Edward McManus of Woburn. Devoted uncle of Brenda Hembrow and her husband, Bob of York, ME; Robert Galante, of Woburn; Edward McManus and his wife Veronica of FL; Jerry McManus and his wife, Charlene of Woburn; and Karen Olson and her husband, Mike, of Woburn, Barbara Callahan and her husband Barry of Woburn, Brenda Moge' of Hampton, NH, and Irene Moge' of Hampton Falls, NH; along with many grand and great grand nephews and nieces. Florence V. "Flo" (Leduc) Diorio - of Woburn, died peacefully at her home, November 20th at the age of eighty-eight. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles E. "Charlie" Diorio, until his passing in 2012. Flo was raised in Somerville, one of six children born to the late Thomas and Flora (Marchand) Leduc. Flo married Charlie Diorio in 1955 and together raised their three children in Woburn, to whom they were devoted. She was an exceptional mother who loved a house full of laughter and loved to spoil her children and grandchildren with her love, dedication, support, and affection. She was a beautiful soul, inside and out and the twinkle in her eyes could always put a smile on anyone's face. Flo and her family loved spending time on Lake Winnipesaukee, where they summered for over 50 years. They made so many fond memories at the lake and often shared stories that included memories of many of their close friends from Alton Bay, NH. Anyone that knew Flo, knew she loved being at her home, however she did enjoy travelling and visiting places like Hawaii, Aruba, Florida, and California, although she disliked the cold weather, she often spoke about her favorite vacation to Telluride, Colorado and how it was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. After Charlies passing, Flo became "one of the girls" in her daughter Donna's close circle of friends. They had lots of outing and weekends away over the years. If Donna was unavailable or out of town, "the girls" always made sure Flo was not alone and had something fun to do to fill her day. Flo was always so grateful for this extended family of hers. Flo will be deeply missed by her loving family members and friends, and they take comfort in knowing she is at peace and together with her beloved Charlie. Devoted mother of Donna M. JOHN P. DeMONICO SR. - a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, surrounded by family, November 15th at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Julia M. (Millett) DeMonico for 57 years. Born and raised in Woburn, John was the youngest of nine children, he was the son of the late Michael and Francesca (DelGreco) DeMonico. He graduated from Woburn High School where he excelled in baseball and hockey and served as a co-captain of the Woburn High Tanner hockey team. He also enjoyed giving back to younger inspiring athletes by coaching baseball in his early years. His love for athletics carried with him throughout the entirety of his life as he became a Bruins Superfan also idolizing Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe and Bobby Orr. John worked at his family's restaurant, Kitty's in North Reading, where he was a chef and manager, bringing joy to customers for over four decades. He was a dedicated and reliable man who put everything he had into his work. John was a lifelong member and supporter of the Woburn City Athletic Club. He loved socializing and spending time with his buddies, keeping up on sports and current events. He was a generous, strong, yet selfless and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. In addition to his wife Julia, John is survived by his two sons, John DeMonico Jr. , of Greenville, SC, and James DeMonico, along with his wife Karen, of Conway, NH. He was the cherished grandfather of Olivia, Sofia and James DeMonico Jr. He was the dear brother of Emma Schelzi of Woburn, Rita White of North Reading, and the late Mario, Quito, William, and Michael DeMonico, Elizabeth Russo and Jeanne Confalone. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rose (DiMambro) Garbino - a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, November 14th at the age of ninety-five. She was the beloved wife of the late James A. Garbino. Born and raised in Woburn, Rose was a daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Frank and Grace (Orcherio) DiMambro. She was raised in the South End of Woburn where she made many lifelong friends. For many years, Rose worked as a waitress at The Hotel Manger in the Boston Garden, serving the rich and famous. She had an infectious personality that made her very pleasant to be around. After their closing, Rose worked with her husband, running their family restaurant, "Jim and Rose's Restaurant", which started on Fowle Street and later moved to Green Street in Woburn. Years later, she worked hand and hand with her brother at Frannie's Restaurant in Winchester until retiring at the age of 90. Rose was a loving, generous and strong woman. She was a great cook and exceptional baker and enjoyed making treats for family and friends. She was a beautiful loving wife, sister, aunt and great friend, who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rose is survived by her siblings, Francis DiMambro, Jennie Mogauro, Anne DiMambro, all of Woburn, and the late Eleanor Davis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as great and great, great nieces and nephews, and predeceased by her niece Carol Frongillo. A Funeral Mass will take place, FRIDAY, November 17th at 11 a. m. , in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn, MA. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
