Patricia Grace Ahrens the daughter of James and Lillian (Schultz) Kelly was born July 27, 1928 in Mankato, Minnesota. She died on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 90. She received her education and graduated from Estherville High School. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and the ELCW. She married Edward Ahrens. Pat and Ed raised their family and made their home in Estherville. Pat enjoyed various volunteer work; especially at the Estherville Public Library Children's Area, and with the pen-pal program with the children at the school. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and cooking; she was known for her Boston Bacon Bread and Bunt Cakes. Pat also enjoyed hanging out with her "cronies" at Breezy Acres. Left to cherish Pat's memory are her children, Kathryn Kintzle; Jim Ahrens; Tom (Beverly) Ahrens; Bill (Linda) Ahrens; Dennis Ahrens; Tim (Trudy) Ahrens; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She has been preceded in death by her parents, and infant stillborn son, Steven.
