Melanie Nicole Smith, a beloved member of the Neosho community, departed from this world suddenly on February 18, 2024. Born on November 21, 1985, Melanie was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family, education, and community. A proud graduate of Neosho High School Class of 2004, Melanie valued education and pursued further learning at Missouri Southern State University, where she earned her Master's degree. Her passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a physical therapist assistant, where she served at Mercy Hospital and Freeman Health and Rehab. More recently, Melanie embraced her passion for education as a STEAM teacher at South School in Neosho, where she nurtured young minds with her enthusiasm and dedication.Melanie was not only committed to her professional endeavors but was also deeply involved in her community. She was a proud member of the Neosho Booster Club, a dedicated cheer coach at Neosho Junior High School, and served on the board for the Neosho ball fields, where she tirelessly supported local sports teams. She entered in to rest on February 16, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri at the age of 69. Sheila worked in healthcare and enjoyed riding horses and being a nurse. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Hunnicutt and wife, SueAnne of Neosho; grandsons, John R. Hamilton, Dillion Hamilton, Sheridan Hunnicutt and Lucas Hunnicutt and three great grandchildren, Jace Hamilton, Caris Hamilton and Gracie Hamilton. Michael Lee Wilson, age 66, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on February 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, passion, and joy. He was born to Robert and Helen Wilson on June 15, 1957, in Neosho, MO, and graduated from Neosho High School in 1975. Continuing his education, Mike attended Crowder College and later SMSU, where he earned his degree in Animal Science. Driven by his love for agriculture, Mike became a self-employed dairy farmer, and founder of Mi-Wil Farms, a profession he cherished until his retirement. Following his retirement from farming, he found fulfillment in his work at Neosho MFA. Mike's commitment to the agricultural community was profound, evidenced by his membership in the Missouri Jersey Cattle Club and the National and Missouri Holstein Association for over 40 years. As an avid cattleman, Mike derived immense joy from breeding and exhibiting dairy cattle. He dedicated his time to coaching dairy judging teams and judging numerous cattle shows. A staunch supporter of the FFA and Booster Club, Mike's influence extended far beyond his immediate circle. Beyond his agricultural pursuits, Mike was a devoted baseball fan, with a particular passion for the St. Louis Cardinals. One of the highlights of his life was throwing the opening pitch at a Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. Known for his sense of humor, Mike was a beloved jokester who knew how to enjoy life to the fullest. In 1979, Mike married the love of his life, Tina Green, in San Mateo, CA, and she survives him. He is also survived by his children Shannon Kleiboeker and husband Jared, Kim Grewe and husband Brandon, and Scott Wilson and wife Jenna, as well as his cherished grandchildren Colton, Cobie, Brynn, Kason, Kimber, and Elijah. He was preceded in death by his parents.A funeral service to honor Mike's life will be held at 4:30 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho, with a visitation to follow until 7:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held following visitation, the location will be announced at the service. Lorraine Marie Carman passed away on February 9, 2024. She was born in Canoga Park, California on June 19, 1943, to Joe and Mary Quaresma. She graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1952. She went on to pursue a job in cosmetology and later, after raising her children, went into health care where she diligently took care of her many elderly friends and patients. After retiring, she worked in her yard and home. She had a passion for hard work and loving her family.Lorraine is survived by one daughter, Barbara West, and spouse, Mike West; three grandchildren, Eli, Adrian, and Boone West of Neosho and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Lucy Roland of Camarillo, CA and nieces, Jennifer and Janelle.
