Manuela Olejnik Mulligan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2023 in Firestone, Colorado. She was born on July 2, 1967 in Wiesbaden, Germany to the late Leonhard Olejnik and Rosamunde Horn. Manuela grew up in Germany and in the United States. Manuela received her GED and worked different jobs throughout her life. Manuel was working in Vilseck, Germany when she met the love of her life, Matthew who was a Soldier in the United States Army. They were married in Georgia on March 27, 1996 while Matthew was stationed at Fort Benning GA. Family and Friends were extremely important to Manuela. There is nothing Manuela would not do for her family and friends. Manuela enjoyed and looked forward to her yearly vacation to Sea Isle City, NJ every summer. Manuela's dream was one day to move to Sea Isle City as it was the spot she felt the most at peace. Manuel enjoyed cooking for her family. She looked forward to cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner as Christmas was her favorite Holiday. Manuela would start setting up Christmas decorations the day after Halloween and complain about taking them down after New Year's. Manuela loved all animals but especially her puppies which she referred to as her babies. Her favorite breed was the English Mastiff. Mulligan is survived by a host of family that includes her devoted husband, Matthew John Mulligan III; loving daughter, Rosa Raychelle Mulligan; grandchildren, Raelyn Grace Burd, Lavance Matthew Michael Burd, McKayla Darcy Mulligan, Michael Ray Kindle Jr, Azalea Olejnik Mulligan; siblings, Andrea Simmons and Frank Horn. Manuela is preceded in death by her sons, Michael Ray Kindle, and Matthew John Mulligan IV. A service will take place Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Olinger Funeral Home, 10201 Grant St, Thornton CO, 80229. Robert John Karlen 1/6/1955 - 8/6/2023 Robert "Bob" Karlen was born on January 6th, 1955, to Arlene Frances Karlen of East St. Paul Minnesota, where he grew up. Bob served in the United States Marine Corps in the Forced Reconnaissance Battalion from 1970 to 1974. During that period, he was stationed at Camp LeJune, in South Carolina. He did his survival training in Okinawa, Japan and was deployed to Viet Nam. He finished his tour and returned home in 1974. Bob met his former wife Shari in Red Wing, Minnesota in 1977. They were married in June of 1979, in Farmington, Minnesota. In August of 1979 they moved to Pipestone Minnesota. There he earned a degree in Meat Management and Merchandising from Pipestone Vocational & Technical College. In addition, they welcomed their first daughter Melody Joy. After Bobs graduation they moved to Douglas, Wyoming. While there, they welcomed their second daughter Collette Francis, in September of 1981. In 1982 the family moved to Pueblo, Colorado, there they welcomed two sons Joshua Cash in March of 1984, and Dustin Allen in February of 1985. In 1995, the family made Broomfield, Colorado their home. There after he pursued his passion for hunting, fishing and cutting meat. Bob LOVED food and would eat anything. But his true passion was his family, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his German Shepards, Skyler, Titan, Sofie and TJ. Bob passed away peacefully in his hometown of Firestone, Colorado, surrounded by his closest friends and family on August 6th, 2023. Bob is survived by his former Wife and Best friend Shari, his four children, Melody (Kenny), Collette (James), Josh (Brianna), Dustin (Josselyn) and his seven grandchildren, who affectionately called him Bampa: Trystin, Dominik, David, Madison, Holly, Brayden and Maci. There are many memories of Bob with his family and friends. But the one that stands out the most was his unparalleled work ethic, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He continued to work hard and provide for the people he loved until his health prevented him in doing so. Even then the people that knew him best, knew he was always ready to lend a hand, even though he was a little "shorthanded. " Bobs final wishes are to have his ashes spread with his mothers, in his hunting grounds in Mueller State Park, in Divide, Colorado.Show more

Betty Nell Avery, 85, of Prescott, AR went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Texarkana, TX. She was born April 8, 1938, in Prescott, AR to William Prather and Belvia Ammons McGuire. Nell retired from Firestone as a secretary after 27 years. She loved her church family and the Lord. Nell was director of Primary Department at church for many years and impacted many young children. She volunteered at Hillcrest Nursing Home handing out snacks to residents. Nell worked as a visitation greeter at Shackleford Funeral Home until 2008 when Herndon-Pharr purchased it and continued to help with Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. Family was very important to her, and she enjoyed spending as much time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother William Ray McGuire, and a sister Ruth Hazel Reyenga. Survivors include her daughters, Janet Sanford (Kevin) of Prescott and Connie Bagley of Van, TX; two sisters Helen Glass (Jake) of Magnolia and Carolyn Jones of Prescott; two grandchildren Bryan Sanford (Melissa) and Kelli Mayall (Hunter); four great grandchildren Kingsley Sanford, Presley Sanford, Luna Mayall and Niko Mayall; and many friends. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2023 6:00pm-8:00pm at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 10:00am at Central Baptist Church in Prescott with Bro. Roy Johnson and Bro. Tom Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott.
