She is survived by her four children, Thomas, Alice (Nick) Lucca, Annette (Vince) Rizzo, and Madelynn (Rick) Brossard, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lincoln, her parents Ann and Joseph Mortellaro, brother Angelo, brother-in-law Edward (Marion), Levon (Mary Ellen), sister-in-law Dorothy (Benny), and in-laws Tom and Alice Tamraz. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital. Visitation is Friday, February 23rd, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. He lived out his life in Chicago, Illinois. Thomas was preceded in death by his Father Emmett Morris and Step Mother Melinda Morris. Thomas is survived by his Mother Sieglinde Almeida and husband Mike, Sister Kreszentia Morris-Opana and husband Phelix, Sister and Bestfriend Heidi Mason-Sotomayor and husband Orlando, Brother Gary L Mason and wife Cindy, Sister Michelle Morris, Sister Tanya Mason-Capalla, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an Airman First Class. He worked for the City of Chicago at the Water Department for many years. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History. Thomas was an exemplary brother, son, cousin, uncle, nephew, friend, and human being. He embodied the best of qualities; unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen by all that loved him. He accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a huge smile. Thomas had a love for the Theatre and music, always posting a song in reference to the mood he was feeling. He is and always will be a guiding light, an open book with various scenarios that convey his love for spiritual advice and referencing his life experiences and stories. He loved to find new recipes to share with his close family and friends. He had a love for sports. His favorite football team was the Chicago Bears. He loved to fish and he was looking forward to his retirement. His departure was a great shock and deep wound and it is greatly felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide network of community. Born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, on February 4, 1960, she was the daughter of Dionisio Pagan and Maria Pagan(Ortiz). She spent most of her life in Chicago. Besides being a dedicated educator for 37 ½ years in the Chicago Public School system, Throughout her life, Sonia was well respected in the Pulaski community and brought comfort to those around her with her welcoming demeanor. She had a green thumb and found joy in her garden, where she nurtured beautiful flowers. She significantly cherished the quiet evenings spent in her garden, often sharing these peaceful moments with loved ones.In addition to her gardening, Sonia had a unique gift for adding her special decorative touch to everything. Whether arranging flowers for a special occasion, crafting handmade gifts, or simply adding sparkle to her home, her creativity and attention to detail shone through in all she did.Surviving are her husband, Dan Gallien; two sons, Juan Monroig and his wife Karen; Roberto Pagan and his wife Marcie; and five grandchildren, Jaelyn Monroig, Lucas Monroig, Jordan Pagan, Xavier Pagan, and Jaxon Monroig. Mother Maria Pagan; sisters Gladys Pagan, Olga Segarra, Nellie Pagan, and several nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her father, Dionisio Pagan.The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences from friends and family during this difficult time.
