DaPONTE, Manuel, 97, of Brookside Ave., West Warwick, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Genesis Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of RI in Coventry. He was the husband of the late Maria F. (Raposo) DaPonte. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria (DoCarmo) DaPonte. Mr. DaPonte was a self-employed farmer in Sao Miguel for many years. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and loved playing cards. He is survived by his children, Jose DaPonte, Maria Andrade, Trindade Maiato, Lucy Morreira, Rosa Felix, Germano Ponte, Antonio DaPonte and Eduarda Carreiro; a sister, Delarina DaPonte; twenty seven grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Maria, Angelina, Trindade, Antonio, Jose and Arthur DaPonte. His funeral will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 8:45 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Ave., West Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.
