Fedor Schustikow, born on August 20, 1941, in the village of Dovolnoe, Novosibirsk Region, Russia, passed away surrounded by loving family on December 9, 2023, in Sharpsburg, Georgia, where he had made his home since 1996. He was 82 years old. Fedor was a man of deep wisdom and accomplishment. He held an MBA in Business Management degree, a testament to his dedication to education and his pursuit of knowledge, in which you would often find him studying the dictionary. Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Fedor was a beloved member of his community, known for his warm heart and friendly demeanor. He had a way of making everyone around him feel welcomed and cherished. Fedor's memory will be cherished by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and a deep love for those he held dear. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, 2 sons, daughter, and 6 grandchildren. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Fedor's life will take place on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, at the First White Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery at 2:00 PM. This will be an opportunity for all who knew and loved him to come together and pay their respects. Bob Jones was born on February 10th, 1951, in Boardman Florida, the youngestson of Marie Jones and one of 7 siblings. He played football, basketball, track, andvolleyball at Fessenden High School. He was an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) All-Americandefensive back while playing for Virginia Union University. Bob was selected bythe Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 1973 NFL Draft. He played fourtotal seasons with the Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. After his playing career, Bob worked at Super-Valu Foods and Clayton County, GAgovernment until his retirement. He was an NCAA and Georgia High SchoolFootball referee for over 20 years and coached his sons and grandson in youthsports. Bob leaves a bereaved family behind that stretches from Philadelphia down toFlorida. They include his wife of over 40 years, Carolyn; brothers, Floyd(Samantha) and Robert (Janice); sisters Vivian Lee (Roy), Louise, and Mary(Olin); daughter Natasha (Abdul) and sons Bobby Rashad (Lauren) and Brandon(Desirrae); 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces,nephews, and cousins who will continue to pray for him. John "Jack" Sanford Taylor, 90 years old, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his apartment on November 29, 2023. He spent the last few days of his life surrounded by family. Jack was born in Chicago, Illinois and was the oldest of two brothers. The two brothers were city boys during the school months but became farmers in the summers on their grandparents' farm. He learned about livestock, planting, harvesting and canning fruits and vegetables during the time on the farm. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War and the Army reserves after the war ended. While in the Army he received National Defense Service and Good Conduct medals. He was Honorably Discharged as a Corporal, E-4. He graduated technical college and followed in his father's footsteps, and had a career for many years in Refrigeration. Jack met Lydia while he was stationed in Dahlonega. The two married and had six children together. They were married for 55 years. They enjoyed attending Atlanta Braves baseball and Georgia Tech football games. Jack's love of sports was instrumental in his desire to coach both of his sons' soccer teams for many years. Jack and Lydia's life together took them from Georgia, to Wisconsin, back to Georgia, to North Carolina and then to Florida. Lydia had a major stroke in 2006 and would spend the next 5 years in a Nursing home. Jack remained devoted to her and spent every waking hour by her bedside until she died. After Lydia passed away in April of 2011, Jack moved back to Georgia to be closer to most of his children. Jack became friends with a former neighbor, and he would spend the last 11 years of his life with his companion Alice Carman of Conley, Georgia. Both were avid sports fans and liked traveling. They took several road trips to Florida to watch the Atlanta Braves Spring Training games. Jack was a Christian and a member of Ash Street Baptist Church in Forest Park, Georgia. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Jean McNeal Taylor, his parents, John and Frances Taylor, and his brother, Philip Taylor. He is survived by his 6 children Karen Taylor Bartell (Dr. Michael Bartell), Annette Taylor Burrell (Guy Burrell), Debbie Taylor Davis (Jimmy Davis), Jackie Taylor (Robin Defoor Taylor), Kimberly Taylor Graham (Rick Graham), David Taylor (Angie Helms Taylor); 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; companion Alice Carman and her two children Cathy Carman Cochran (Derrick Cochran), Jeff Carman (Connie Carman), Alice's 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Jack will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00am - 12:00pm at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held in the Chapel from 12:00pm - 1:00pm and Interment immediately following the service in the Fairview Memorial Gardens. Barbara Ann Toney, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, in Fayetteville, Georgia. She was born on January 26, 1941, in Columbus, Georgia. Barbara lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories for her family and friends. Barbara dedicated many years of her career as a Supervisor at Marriott, where she displayed exceptional leadership and commitment. Her hard work and dedication were admired by her colleagues and served as an inspiration to those around her. Barbara's warm and loving nature extended beyond her professional life. She was a devoted mother to her children, Cindy (Jason) Wolf, David Toney, and Michael Toney. Her love and guidance shaped their lives and will forever be treasured. Barbara's grandchildren, Jose, Ricardo, Antonio, Savanna, and Damien, brought immense joy to her life. She adored them and took great pride in watching them grow. Her great-grandchildren, Julian, Justin, Timothy, Payton, Oliver, Ruby, and Eleanor, added an extra sparkle to her days. Barbara shared a special bond with her sister, Pat (Dick) Joiner, who provided unwavering support and love throughout their lives. Their relationship was a source of strength and comfort. Barbara also leaves behind her niece and nephews, Scott, Brad, and Lane, who held a special place in her heart. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Gartrell and Hettie McRae. Although she is no longer with us, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Services to honor and celebrate Barbara's life will be scheduled at a later date. Henry Lamar Turpin, 94, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He was born Sunday, May 5, 1929, to Tom and Izzy Turpin. Henry never met a stranger and loved to talk with everyone. He was a University of Alabama fan and thought the world of coach Saban. He enjoyed his time spent with friends. He was married to Mary C. Turpin for 67 years. Their love story began in 1955 at Dorsey Trailers in Elba, Alabama. Henry was a truck driver for Posey & Lynn Trucking, then Georgia Highway Express which later was Trans Us Motor Company for 41 years. After retirement you would find him in his garden or working in his yard. Henry was a member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lakewood Heights, and a member of the Eastern Star. He was a veteran who served in the Korean War. Henry loved his family with all his heart. He was Pawpaw to two grandsons, 5 great grands, and two great-great grands. He is preceded by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters. Henry is survived by his wife Mary; daughter, Jenny and her husband, Randy; grandson, Joey (Jody) Jones, and their children, Lexy, Avery and Aubrey Jones; grandson, Jeff (Julie) Jones, and their children, Brittany Posey and Justin Posey; and great-greatgrandchildren, Taliya and Dias Posey. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Buddy Waldron officiating. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Henry will be laid to rest at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville following the service.
