Terri Lynn (Zickler) Bond, 71, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Cumberland House in Crossville, Tennessee. She was born on Monday, October 13, 1952, in Prarie City, Oregon. Caring, Giving, and Strong, Terry was a dedicated and long-serving secondary school educator. She especially loved teaching English literature and theater arts, passions she carried into her community work in theater and literacy tutoring. Terri was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Bailey, her daughters, Chrysta Bond and Anita Bond, her stepsons Jerry Bond and Christopher Bond, step-children, Jennifer Lawson, Darren Bailey, and Christopher Bailey, her sister, Barbara Smutz, and her sister Carla Lemons; She was preceded in death by her father, Richard K. Zickler, her mother, Ida Lorraine Zickler, and her first husband, Brian Bond. Terri was an active member of Saint Raphael's Episcopal Church in Crossville, Tennessee, where she found solace and community. There she was involved in the Vestry and the Daughters of the King. There will be a memorial service for Terri at St. Raphael's on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 10:00 am CST. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made in Terri's memory to Hospice of Cumberland County and the Ocean Conservancy. These organizations were close to Terri's heart and reflect her compassionate and environmentally conscious nature. Lovingly Written By Family Beth Joan Wilson, 89, of Crossville, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2023. Beth was born May 21, 1934, in Rockford, IL to the late Guy H. Schoonmaker & Ruby M. (Nelson) Schoonmaker and had lived in Crossville for the last 3 1/2 years, moving there from Decorah, IA. Beth met her husband-to-be in 1950 while working as a waitress at Bishop's Buffet in Rockford. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Lee Wilson on February 10, 1951, in Rockford where they raised their 4 children. They were married 53 years when Bill passed away in July 2004. During their time in Rockford, they attended First Assembly of God and Rock Churches before moving to Joplin, MO in 1991 after Bill's retirement in 1987 where they attended Calvary Church of the Nazarene. After Bill's passing, Beth moved to Decorah, IA in 2006 to be closer to her daughter, Mary Beth. Beth accepted Christ as a young woman and her faith remained steadfast throughout her life. She was involved in child evangelism and her work for the Lord continued w/ her husband Bill by doing missions work w/ the Indian Tribes in Mobridge, SD, including locations in Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. Throughout her life, Beth pursued and enjoyed various hobbies and activities which included volunteer work at Rockford Memorial Hospital, doing ceramics w/ Bill and becoming a certified teacher of ceramics, shopping antique malls for various glassware, avid gardening which resulted in beautiful flower beds and house plants (especially African violets and Christmas cactuses), collecting coins and stamps, and being a member of a doll club in Joplin. Beth had a keen eye for selecting only the most pristine antique postcards and cherished her scrapbook of greeting cards between her and Bill. Despite managing migraines and narcolepsy, Beth remained a loving wife & mother and devoted woman of faith. She had a knack for doing little things "just because" as an extension of her love. Those who knew her best, know of the childlike joy she exhibited throughout her life. Even though she experienced dementia, she still cherished visits from loved ones, receiving cards in the mail, being sung to, and having scripture read to her. Beth will be cherished & missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Nelson (Mark) of Crossville, TN; daughters-in-law Charlene Wilson of Lake Mary, FL and Marianne Wilson of Rockford, IL; sister-in-law, Mary Sharon McDowell of Haines, FL; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, & nephews. Other than her parents and husband, Beth is preceded in death by her children: Martin L. Wilson, Adam L. Wilson, & Eraina A. Wilson; her siblings Donna Keely and Victor Schoonmaker. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Osborne Memorial Park Cemetery, both in Joplin, Missouri. Benjamin Tabor, age 77, was born September 17, 1946, to William Wesley and Velmar Parrott Tabor in Crossville TN and passed away November 5, 2023. Ben was stricken with polio when he was just six years old, then missed his first year of schooling because of it. Despite the setback, Ben completed first and second grade in a single year and continued to excel in school with exceptional grades. Ben loved math and became bored with school after his eighth grade and quit school to help his parents and to begin what would become his lifelong passion-- Trucking. At the age of fourteen, Ben started helping his family travel and transport produce for the family business. Ben quickly learned how to acquire bigger and better equipment, beginning a passion that would last a lifetime. Ben started Ben Tabor Trucking and continued to buy trucks and equipment for the next six decades. Ben was a self-taught man from humble beginnings, who was determined to succeed by doing things his own way. Ben loved nice old cars and big fancy trucks. NASCAR was a favorite hobby. In his youth Ben liked fishing and hunting. Ben loved children and inspired them to be the best they could be. Ben was saved on May 1 , 2012, and became a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He attended Winesap Freewill Baptist Church in the Newton community. Ben was a respected philanthropist who loved to help people. Ben's generosity for the Cumberland community is well-known and will carry his legacy forward. Ben was afflicted by COVID-19 on September 16, 2020, and fought it to the end. This ultimately was the last chapter of Ben's wonderful book of life. Ben is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Wilson Tabor. Ben is survived by his twin daughters, Benita Koehl (Damon), and Renita Iles (Porter), seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three nieces, three nephews, adopted children Bailey and Jaclyn Eaton, Taylor Gutrie, and Brooke Hicks, and by his Aunt Marlene Looney. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers; Kenneth, Zilvin, and Willard Tabor. grandparents Sam and Lucinda Tabor (Atkinson), and James and Charlotte Parrott. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 12-2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with service to follow. Brother Randy Maynord and Brother Adam Hargis will officiate with burial in Tolletts Chapel Cemetery, Crossville.Show more
