Maria Elisabeth Gora, age 86, of Davison, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Maria was born on June 17, 1937, in Illerberg, Germany to her late parents Jacob and Gertrude Kaeppeler. She went on to marry the love of her life Ronald Gora on November 16th, 1963. They were married for 51 wonderful years. You may also know Maria as the "Quilting Queen" at St. John Catholic church. Maria had quilted many, many, many quilts and prayer shawls for the Church. Maria's perfect day would find her outside in her garden tending to the rose bushes. Roses were her favorite and she was very proud of her rose bushes. Maria would always say she had a green thumb but only for her outside plants, not so much for house plants. Maria is survived by her children Francis, Thomas, and Patricia Gora; grandsons Andrew and Jacob Gora; nephews Juergen and Klaus Kaeppeler. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, and brothers Hans, Bernie, and Karl Kaeppeler A visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI, with a rosary service at 6:30 PM. A funeral mass will occur Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church - 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI, with visitation one hour prior. Maria will be laid to rest at Goodrich Cemetery in Goodrich, MI.

GALE, Kenneth L. – of Davison, MI, formerly of Hadley, age 80, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. To honor Kenneth’s wishes, Cremation has taken place, and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association. Kenneth was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on May 16, 1943, son of the late Lloyd and Donna (Slaght) Gale. At the age of 19, Ken immigrated to the United States in 1962. He married Patricia Ann Makon in 1970, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2022. Ken retired from GM after 40 years of service as a Wood Model Maker. He was an avid train collector and enjoyed spending time with horses and other animals. Ken loved to watch Gunsmoke and was known to have a cookie or twelve. Kenneth is survived by 3 children, Robert (Ann) Gale, Lara Maria (Conrad) Davis and Margaret (John Adams) Gale; 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Bradley, Madelyn and Robert Jr.; sisters, Pat Armstrong and Terry (Jon) Cox. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Dolores was born in Flint, MI on January 6, 1933, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Beson) Swanson. She married Earl A. Roberts on August 7, 1956 in Clio and he predeceased her July 17, 1997. Dolores enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Faith was very important to Dolores. She was a founding member at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Dolores is survived by her children, Stephen J. (Patricia) Roberts, Catherine E. McAuliffe, Norman A. She was musically inclined, playing the hammered dulcimer and the organ for her grandchildren. Glenda was very active with her church, imitating Christ’s love, showing it to all she met. J.C. was born in Bell City, MO on January 9, 1938, son of the late Woodrow and Lillian (Davis) Proffer. On December 29, 1956, he married Elizabeth MaryAnn Kovacs and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2002. J.C. found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature, whether it was the thrill of the hunt, particularly for moose and deer, or the peaceful moments spent fishing for salmon. His love for the outdoors extended to camping adventures, with a special fondness for the tranquility of a trout pond. Gladwin, MI, held a special place in J.C.'s heart, as it was the backdrop for countless gatherings filled with laughter, love, and shared experiences. His home was a sanctuary where family and friends gathered, creating a haven of warmth and hospitality.Family meant the world to J.C., and he reveled in every opportunity to spend quality time with his loved ones. Family trips were a source of immense joy for him, from the rugged beauty of Alaska to the tropical paradise of Hawaii, and the vast landscapes of Canada. J.C. also crisscrossed the United States, leaving a trail of wonderful memories from coast to coast. Missouri, in particular, held a special place in his heart, and he often found himself drawn to its beauty. J.C. will be remembered for his zest for life, his love of nature, and the countless moments of camaraderie shared around the campfire. He leaves behind a legacy of adventure, laughter, and love that will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. In honoring J.C.'s memory, let us find solace in the beauty of the natural world he so deeply cherished and the bonds of love and friendship that will endure in our hearts. Euwilda was born in Palmer, Massachusetts on March 3, 1946, daughter of the late Ellis and Mildred (Putnam) Coggins. On November 20, 1987, Euwilda joined her life with Bryon Perry in a beautiful union in Davison, MI. Together, they created a tapestry of love and shared countless memories over the years. She retired from General Motors in 2000 after 30 years of service. Euwilda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for fishing, a passion for the great outdoors, and a deep connection with animals, especially her cherished dogs, illuminated her days. Whether casting a line into the serene waters, exploring the beauty of nature through camping and hunting, or simply basking in the warmth of family gatherings, Euwilda embraced life with a spirit that radiated happiness. She started her career at General Motors Buick Motor Division and left for a brief time to start her family. With a passion for early childhood education, she served as the director of Calvert Park Community Church of God and Central Baptist Church Daycare Centers for over 15 years. Virginia later worked for almost 20 years as the Administrative Assistant at the Davison United Methodist Church. Virginia enjoyed reading and spending time at the family cottage. She also cherished time with her family. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Fike; son, James F. (Jamie L.) Fike; 2 granddaughters, Sophia L. Fike and Cordelia L. Fike; nephew, Gary (Anne) Hazen; niece, Lisa (Craig) Smith; 4 great-nephews, Aaron (Jordan) Hazen, Kevin (Courtney) Hazen, Peter Smith and Jacob Smith; sister-in-law, Wilma “Kay” Hazen; many other loving family members and good friends.
