Malcolm Alston Obituary

"Malcolm Gary Alston, age 67, departed his earthly body in Orlando, Florida, on August 28, 2023. Malcolm was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Edward J. Alston, Sr. , and Lolita Williams Alston. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edward J. Alston, Jr. , Frederick F. R. Alston, and Geoffrey E. Alston. Malcolm graduated from St. Augustine Catholic High School. He attended the University of New Orleans earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. During his career, he worked for Lockheed Martin, completed multiple projects at two Space Centers and finished his career reviewing healthcare construction for the state of Florida. Malcolm was a devoted father to Kayla Alston Stangl, an active member of his community, a lover of jazz and a valued friend to many. Malcolm leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Kayla, her husband, Nicholas Stangl, granddaughters, Tessa Stangl and Cora Stangl, his daughter\u0027s mother, Marinda Gobert; his sister, Patricia Alston Rochon and a host of loving family and friends. Family, friends and members of Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on September 30, 2023. The memorial gathering will begin at 9:00 am followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am, at 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
