Muriel Cacibauda

Muriel Cacibauda

Age - 82

November 6, 2023

The funeral arrangements will be announced soon. The full obituary will be published. Please check back. Muriel Marie (Zeringue) Cacibauda, 82, of Belle Chasse, Louisiana passed away Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. She was born February 7, 1941, the daughter of Eugene J. Zeringue Sr. and Mabel Dufresne Zeringue in Wallace, Louisiana. She grew up in Gramercy, Louisiana with her older siblings, Veryl, Eugene, and Ruth. She loved to swim, was a member of the cheer team, and accompanied her father on the river to set shrimp boxes and roll his cigarettes. She married John Vincent Cacibauda on August 29, 1959, in Paulina, Louisiana. Muriel and Johnny were married for 22 years, raising their children, John Jr. and Kim. They built an incredible life surrounded by family and friends in the Belle Chasse area. Granny, Aunt Muriel, Big M, was the life of the party. When she walked into a room her presence was felt. There were no strangers in Granny’s house, and once a drink was poured and you began talking you were counted as a friend. Not a glass in the house was dry and not a frown was to be found. She was the center of a family that learned from her how to gather and have a good time, but above all gather as a family. She rooted her family in celebration and reminded us that those we have around us are the greatest reason to celebrate we could imagine. Later in life, no celebration was complete without her partner, Greg Morgan. They sat in their chairs side by side while Big Johnny strummed on the guitar, and watched their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids make the best of memories. It is with the heaviest heart that we say goodbye. She would want every single one of us to raise a Jack Daniels and smile. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, partner of 36 years Greg Morgan, and John Cacibauda Sr. She is survived by her son; John Cacibauda Jr. (Michele), daughter; Kim Cook (Roland), grandchildren; Roland Cook III (Gabby), Malerie Beck (Brian), Alicia Christians (Shannon), and Meagan Fournier (Chad), great-grandchildren; Avery, Tate, Titan, Roland IV, River, Adeline, and Sterling. A Celebration of Life will be held (service information to be added once solidified)Show more
