C. Lynn Woody, age 76 of Knoxville, passed away October 3, 2023. Veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in the Weather Bureau Dept. After the service, he retired from the U. S. Postal Service. Lynn was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed traveling to Israel, Turkey, Japan, Scotland, Ireland and numerous other locations. Preceded in death by his mother, Lila Woody; sister, Sandra Jo Burgess and first cousin, Linda Meridith. Survived by first cousins, Vickie Dickenson (George), Steve McClain (Janice) and Mike Meridith, husband of Linda Meridith; nephew, Lee Burgess (Carol); great-nephew, Robbie Burgess ( Kaitlyn) and special friend, Greg Boliver. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 2:45 pm at Lynch Bethel Cemetery for a graveside service at 3:00 pm. Memories are welcome at weaverfuneralservices. com.

Kristie D. Bohannon of Knoxville, TN passed away surrounded by family on December, 2, 2023. She was 64 years old. Kristie was born on March 4th, 1959 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was married to her loving husband, Jerry, for 40 years and was deeply loved as a Naynay to her grandchildren Everett and Hadley DeBinder. She spent the last 20 years working at Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services in Oak Ridge, TN. Kristie was of the Methodist Faith. Kristie is predeceased by her mother Betty Wright, Vernon Dogan (Father), Tate Wright (Step-father), brother Buddy (Aubrey) Dogan, and Sister-in-Law Shannon Dogan. She is survived by her Husband Jerry, Son Christopher Garner of Tuscaloosa Alabama, Daughter Katie DeBinder (Robert) of Knoxville, TN, Grandchildren Hadley and Everett DeBinder, Brothers Mike (Gail) and Kelly (Joy) Dogan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and many loved nieces and nephews. Age - 74

Constance Lynn Evans Gorghis, known affectionately as Connie to the many that knew and loved her, entered into Heaven on Thursday, November 30, 2023 after a brief, but courageous battle with gastric cancer. Connie grew up in Knoxville and worked many years as an LPN, providing devoted and loving care to every patient she met. She also had a tremendous green thumb and her home was surrounded by the wonderful plants and flowers she loved so much. Connie was preceded in death by her parents James L. Evans and Pauline Evans and siblings; Louise Brewer, David L. Evans, and Gail Blakely. She is survived by daughter, Kristina Gorghis Lusby (Kevin); son, John Evan Gorghis and sister, Jamie Strickland (Jim), and her beloved pup, Shorty; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, extended family and special friends. The family would like to send their heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care that Connie received at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The clinical teams and staff on the 8th floor oncology unit, the 9th floor transitional care unit and the medical ICU made her difficult days much brighter. Alta "Susie" Faye Huffaker, age 85 passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Susie spent most of her young life in Middlesboro, Kentucky before moving to Knoxville in 1966. A 1959 graduate of East Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. Susie was a registered nurse and retired from Knox County Health Department after 41 years of service. She enjoyed cheering on the Lady VOLS and watching all types of sports. Preceded in death by her father, Howard Minton, Sr. ; mother, Imogene (Welch) Minton; father-in-law, Thomas Huffaker, Sr. ; mother-in-law, Beulah Huffaker; husband, Thomas D. Huffaker, Jr. ; and brother, Howard Ray Minton, Jr. She leaves behind her sons, Thomas Daniel Huffaker and Bo Huffaker (Tracye); granddaughter, Hayley Huffaker; grandson, Michael Huffaker; sister-in-laws: Della Minton, MaryAnn Huffaker, Helen Dufala, Pat Huffaker, JoAnn McGinnis (Jerry); as well as many nieces and nephews. James (Jimmy) Bluford, age 61, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born on December 4, 1961. James attended York High School, in Virginia, and Pellissippi State Community College. After college, he worked for Pizza Hut and quickly advanced to different management positions, retiring in early 2023. James had an immense love for his family, music and the mountains. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda (Allison) Bluford; grandmother, Rena Lee Allison; wife, Rhonda Susan Bluford. Sherry Lynn Sorge passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the age of 76. Born in Ooltewah, but well-traveled, Sherry lived a rich and fulfilling life. What brought her the most joy was caring for and making others happy. Whether it be through her career in the hospitality industry, or in her retirement years where she found happiness in gardening and decorating her home. When she wasn't gardening, you could find her reading a book on the back porch, baking in her kitchen, or creating memories with her children. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret and Philip Vest, Sr. Sherry leaves behind her children: Shannon Anderson, David Anderson (Shannon), Steven Spurlin, Nicholas Sorge; grandchildren: Jackson, Emma, William and Andrew; brother, Philip Vest, Jr. (Michelle); and cousin, Steve Wolfe (Linda). Carolyn Grace Enyart, beloved wife of the late James Enyart, passed away on December 2 nd , 2023, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully departed this life. Carolyn was born on June 26 th , 1942, in Valparaiso, IN to Floyd and Mabel Hintz. She grew up in Hanging Grove, IN and later moved to Kewanna, IN where she met and married the love of her life, James Enyart. Together, they shared 14 years of love, joy, and companionship until his passing in 2006. A kind and compassionate soul, Carolyn touched the lives of all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Carolyn is survived by her devoted children, Sharon LaBrooy, Brad Culp, Bryan Culp and Michelle Culp, and their families. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory. A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held in Kewanna IN in the spring of 2024. Donald "Poppy" Wayne Russell passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was born in Jefferson Country September 14, 1938. Donald graduated from Maury High School Class of 1956. Preceded in death by parents: Ray and Virginia Russell of the Piedmont Community and sister, Kay R. Martin of Dandridge, TN. Survived by: Daughters Margaret H. Russell and Rebecca A. Russell and the very special granddaughter, Grace Izabell, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967. Retired from Rhom and Haas Company following 40 years of employment. Don and Barbara were married for 63 years and traveled extensively in the US and abroad. Undoubtedly, the most memorable travels were two trips to Russia with daughter, Margie, who adopted Grace in 2003. He enjoyed all activities with family and friends, attending NASCAR races, watching old Western movies, and working in his yard. Don was a long-time member of Inskip Baptist Church where he worshiped and served as trustee, Sunday School Secretary, and volunteered to assist with the Wednesday Night Fellowship meals.
