Dot, as she was known, had a love of numbers and was an accountant and auditor for various companies. She also created the most beautiful quilts and wall hangings for her family to treasure. She loved working in the yard and always had beautiful plants and flowers of which yellow tulips were her favorites. Mom was an avid bowler and enjoyed the church leagues and fellowship of friends. She was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. for many years and loved serving her Lord and Savior. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. A fabulous baker, Mom was legendary for her Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge and Apple Cake. There was love in every dish she prepared. Everyone who knew Mom loved her. She was the kindest, gentlest, sweetest and humblest person you would ever have the pleasure of knowing. She loved her family more than anything and was always supportive and encouraging. She celebrated every accomplishment with great pride but was also the soft place to fall when things were tough. Even on her roughest days, she never complained. You could ask her how she's doing and there were one of three answers. . . "I'm fine", "Everything's lovely" or "Wonderful. "Mom leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 79 years, Lonnie "Pete" Belangia, daughters Marsha Stevens (Omar) of Deltona, FL. and Cynthia Cordova (Gary) of Catlett, VA. A very special recognition of love and gratitude goes out to Mom's niece, Michele Finck, who helped in too many ways to count. Mom was definitely surrounded by love all of her life. When her Lord and Savior called her home, we're quite sure He said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. "Memorial gifts can be donated to Heartland Hospice of Warrenton, 493 Blackwell Rd. #319, Warrenton, VA. 20186 or Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, 1000 Crowell Avenue, Chesapeake, VA. 23324. "Our legacy is really the lives we touch, the inspiration we give, altering someone's plan-if even for a moment-and getting them to think, cry, laugh, argue. More than anything we are remembered for our smiles; the ones we share with our closest and dearest, and the ones we bestow on a total stranger, who needed it right then, and God put you there to deliver.
