Lyle Ehlers, 76, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Sioux Falls VA Hospital. Memorial visitation will be from 6:00 p. m. until 7:00 p. m. , Thursday, September 21, 2023, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. There will be a time of sharing at 7:00 p. m. , following the visitation. Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 a. m. , Friday, September 22, 2023, at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in rural Sioux Falls. A procession will leave George Boom Funeral Home at approximately 10:30 a. m. on Friday. Please note the dates of service. Additional obituary information will be available in the coming days.

Douglas Bultje, age 64, of Salem, SD died Monday, November 27, 2023 at Avantara Norton in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Douglas Bultje, son of Harold and Henrietta (Postma) Bultje, was born October 29, 1959 in Platte, SD. He grew up on a farm in Aurora Center until the age of seven when the family moved into Aurora Center. Doug attended Fairview School for his first 8 years and then graduated from Stickney High School in 1977. Doug was united in marriage with Tammera Phillips on October 7, 1977 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell for a short time after their marriage. While in Mitchell, Doug worked at a local gas station. Doug entered the US Army on August 21, 1978 and served in Kentucky, Germany and Kansas. He was honorably discharged on June 11, 1990 and returned to Mitchell, SD. Later they moved to Mt Vernon, SD, where Doug was employed at the State Training School in Plankinton, SD. In 1998 he began full time as a rural letter carrier stationed in Plankinton, SD. He retired after 32 years of service with the United States Government. In his retirement he enjoyed bingo at assisted living, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Grateful for having shared his life are his three children, Jerimy (Jeanie) Bultje, Huron, SD, Gina Bultje, Mitchell, SD, James (Marsha) Bultje, Montrose, SD; four grandchildren, Morgan Bultje, Elias Bultje, Moses Bultje and Eden Bultje; two brothers, Gerald (Donna) Bultje, Mt. Vernon, SD, Dennis Bultje, Golden, CO; two sisters, Linda (Gary) Vreugdenhil, Charlotte, NC, Beverly (Gary) Minnich, Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammera on June 18, 2021; his parents; and a sister, Donna Overweg.
