Heaven became a reality for Lowell Dale Bohn, age 91, of Fouke, Arkansas, on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Mr. Bohn was born on January 23, 1932, at Fouke and has lived in Fouke all of his life. He was a member of Fairland Holiness Church, where he was the last charter member, was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Bohn was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Estel Bohn, his wife, Betty McDaniel Bohn, a sister, Jeanette Blood, and a grandson, Cameron Pennington. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Elizabeth and Sammy Bumgardner of Doddridge, Arkansas, and Elaine Pennington of Fouke, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Samuel Bumgardner (Jessica), Sarah Berry (Bradley), and Matt Pennington (Nicole), one brother and sister-in-law, Dwaine and Gwen Bohn of Fouke, Arkansas, and seven great-grandchildren, Carson, Savannah, Carley, Madelyn, Whitley, Easton, and Ansley. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday at Fairland Holiness Church with Rev. Lloyd Shuecraft officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Independence Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at Fairland Holiness Church on Tuesday from 6 P. Dorothy Mildred Baxter, age 93, of Fouke, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 30, 2023 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Baxter was born November 14, 1930 in Smithville, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairland Holiness Church. She enjoyed making things for others. Every week she would bake six loaves of bread to share with her neighbors and everyone loved her special cakes and pies. Other than baking delicious treats, she enjoyed making dolls and sewing. She also liked to nurture and grow different plants. She was a devout Christian and prayer warrior. Her faith was a large and important part of her life. Mrs. Baxter was a family-oriented woman and enjoyed nothing more than getting to spend time with her family. She was a loving and compassionate woman who was always wanting to do something for others and never once asked for anything in return. She lived her life being an example for others and sharing her faith with her family and neighbors. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Baxter; her son, Larry Baxter; her parents, William and Mary Bethel; three brothers and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda and her husband Denny Roberts, and Teresa Teer; eight grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, three brothers; Gerald Williams who adopted her as his mom and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, December 4, 2023 at Fairland Holiness Church with Bro. Lloyd Shuecraft and Stacy Holden officiating. Randy Joe Miller, Sr. , age 67, of Fouke, Arkansas, was called home Monday, November 27, 2023, surrounded by his family. Mr. Miller was born July 28, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, and lived in Fouke most of his life. He was a retired journeyman pipeline welder and a welding instructor at Texarkana Community College. He was a member of the Sidney Masonic Lodge 455 and the Pipeliners Local Union 798. He helped coach the Fouke High School Trap Team while his son Randall attended. He was an avid gardener, worked in his several-acre gardens, and could grow any vegetable imaginable. He was a mechanic and could fix and restore any vehicle. Many in the Fouke Community would bring their vehicles or other engines for him to repair. He could always be found tinkering in his shop even when there wasn't an engine to fix. He loved Country and Western Music. Randy was a loyal supporter of Rush Limbaugh and President Donald J. Trump. He was a true Cowboy and was called Cowboy Pawpaw by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Randy was a family man; he loved his grandkids and great-grandkids very much and was proud of them. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Sumrell of Fouke, Arkansas; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Randy Joe Miller, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of, Meridian, Mississippi; Charles Louis Miller and his wife, Cortney of Doddridge, Arkansas; Christopher Michael Miller and his wife Camey of Valley Grande, Alabama; Randall Glen Miller of Fouke, Arkansas; one stepson; Robert Joseph Sumrell and his wife, Krystalyn Sumrell and his stepdaughter, Brandy Lea Sumrell of Beaumont, Texas; his siblings, Paul Miller and his wife, Pat of DeKalb, Texas; Debbie Broussard and her husband, Paul, of Texarkana, Arkansas; Kimberly Beasley and husband, Ron of Greenbrier, Arkansas; Timothy Miller and his wife Becky of Fouke, Arkansas; Jimmy Miller and his wife, Ericka of Ashdown, Arkansas; and Anthony Miller and his wife, Mandy of Texarkana, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Logan Miller and his wife, Alysha, Addison Miller and Michael Henry Miller; his four step-grandchildren, Kane Sumrell, Sophie Sumrell, Cylie Sumrell, and Caylex Sumrell, two great grandchildren, Michael James Miller and Oakleigh Miller and a host of friends and other relatives. Cecil Smith, age 82, of Fouke, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2023. Mr. Smith was born on July 19, 1941, in Miller County, Arkansas, and had been a lifetime resident. He was a member of Fairland Holiness Church, was the former mayor of Fouke, and retired private businessman, having been a barber, school bus driver, and store owner, among other things. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his music, but most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Bohn Smith of Fouke, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Woody Woodruff of Texarkana, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Charles Reed of Fouke, Arkansas, two grandsons, Caleb Crabtree (Calais) of Rogers, Arkansas and Joshua Crabtree of Texarkana, Texas, and 6 great-grandchildren, Emmy Crabtree, Addy Crabtree, Molly Crabtree, Lindsey Crabtree, Chloe Crabtree, and Kylea Crabtree. Mrs. JoAnn Yother, age 74, of Fouke, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Mrs. Yother was born January 5, 1949, in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was a retired pastry decorator. She enjoyed going to concerts of all kinds and dancing with her husband, in their younger days. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, is what brought her the greatest joy. She never missed an opportunity to be with them. Mrs. Yother was the most loving, caring, kind, and selfless woman that you would ever meet. She truly had a heart of gold that was ever present in her daily life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Yother; her parents, Jim McClure and Doris Culberson and two brothers, Keith Culberson and Richard McClure. Hattie Jean Jones, age 88, of Fouke, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 18, 2023 in a local hospital. Mrs. Jones was born February 4, 1935 in Brightstar, Arkansas and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a retired supervisor of the cafeteria at Fouke Public Schools and was a member of Sanctuary of Hope Church. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and volunteering. Mrs. Jones spent many hours volunteering her time to many different events and organizations. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year once. She loved to go to church and to be a worker in her church. She found great joy in serving God and helping others. She loved to spend her time with her family and friends. She was always sure to put her family first, over all else. She was a very selfless woman, outgoing and friendly. She made friends with everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth F. Jones; daughter, Kolinda Jones; brother, Dennis Oliver and sister, Jo Ella Oliver. He was born May 27, 1965 in Texarkana, Arkansas to James and Doris Attaway. Duncan was a member of SonRise Cowboy Church, Sidney Masonic Lodge # 455 and was a retired operator with the Local 178 Union. He was an avid outdoorsman and a beloved member of his community, but his family brought him his greatest joy. Duncan is preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Attaway, Leighann Attaway; son in law, Lynn Peavy; and his parents.
