Linda Kay Vorhes, a beacon of laughter, faith, and selflessness, was born on June 14, 1957, in Lapeer, Michigan. She embarked on her eternal journey on October 24, 2023, in Columbiaville, Michigan, after a brave battle with cancer. Linda's life was a testament to love and dedication. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Wayne, and a loving mother to her children, Julie (Roland) Major, Cathy (Chris) Sweeney, Joshua (Kelli) Vorhes, and Justin (Kaylea) Vorhes. Her siblings, Larry (Kim) Broughman, Theresa (John) Garland, Pattie (Dan) Oberlee, and Penny (Don) Deland, held a special place in her heart. Linda was a doting grandmother to Breanna (Johnny), Garrett (Tiffany), Christion (Dayna), Aira (Jacob), Haleigh (Luis), Hannah (Abraham), Brianna, Jayden, Keegan, Paisley, Logan, Lacota, Austin, Gage, Drake, Kole, and great-grandmother of: Bowen, Wilder, and Hazel. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and great friends, including Rick & Cindy Smith, and Bob & Patty Jarvis. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Janet Pallmig and Jerry Broughman, her brother, Terry, and great-grand-daughter Meadow. Linda's professional journey was marked by dedication and hard work. She retired in 2006 from the General Motors Orion Plant, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and commitment. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a proud member of the Davison Assembly of God. Linda's zest for life was infectious. She was a passionate traveler, making her way to Florida and West View Ridge yearly over the last 15 years, creating memories and spreading joy. She had a knack for playing cards, a hobby she enjoyed immensely. Linda had a special touch when it came to decorating, and her marvelous Christmas parties were a testament to her creativity and planning skills. Above all, her favorite pastime was playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a time she cherished and looked forward to. Linda was a woman of many virtues. Her sense of humor was contagious, filling every room with laughter and happiness. Her faith was unwavering, guiding her through life's ups and downs. Linda was selfless, always putting others before herself, and her generosity knew no bounds. Linda's life was a celebration of love, faith, and selflessness. She left an indelible mark on every life she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us. Let us remember Linda not with sadness, but with gratitude for having had the privilege of knowing such an extraordinary woman. Her laughter, her faith, and her selflessness will continue to resonate in our hearts, reminding us of the beautiful life she lived. Burial has taken place in Wood Lawn Cemetery, and a Celebration of Linda's Life will take place 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Davison Assembly of God, where family and friends may visit 1 hour prior to service.
