Louis M DeClark, 89, Brussels passed away at his home surrounded by his family on October 6, 2023 He was born August 8,1934 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to Louis and Clarice (Buzzo) DeClark On June 26, 1954, he married Shirley Mae LeRoy in Brussels, she preceded him in death on December 6, 2019 Louis served his country in the U S Army from 1955 to 1957 After the service, he was a licensed barber and then became a master plumber and operated his own plumbing business Louis was a member of the American Legion Post 372, Brussels Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Brussels Fire Department and a life member of the Gardner Rifle Club He loved golfing and made three "hole in ones" He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren Louis also enjoyed wintering for 24 years in Arizonia, where he and Shirley made many friends that were like family Survivors include his children, Steve (Rachel) DeClark, Brussels; Daren DeClark, Brussels; Kathy (Kelly Zehren) Kinnard, Luxemburg; Ten grandchildren, Christopher (Liz) DeClark, Jennifer DeClark, Cody (Carrie) DeClark, Olivia, Drew DeClark, Abby DeClark, Kraig (Nicole) Kinnard, Kyler (Tarynn) Kinnard, Mariah (Zach Stuebs) Kinnard, Rachael Zehren; eleven great grandchildren, James, Dakoda, Marshall, Amelia, Tucker, Joslyn, Johana, Liam, Brynn, Aubrey, and Crew; and one great-grandson due in February; one new born great-great-grand daughter, Aspen, born on the date of his passing; sisters, Sharon (Mike) Lemens, Kay (Glen) Madoche , a brother, Leo (LeDeana) DeClark; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Abts; and friend, Barb He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter, daughter-in-law, Jami DeClark, sisters, Geraldine (Joe) LeFevre, Bernadette (James) Grassel; brother-in-law, Ted Abts; parents-in-law, Harry "H J " (Norma) LeRoy and Lorraine (Clarence) Pigeon Funeral Services will be 11:00 a m Thursday, October 12, 2023, at St Francis and St Mary Church, Brussels Entombment at Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum later Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home from 3:00 to 6:30 p m Wednesday and then after 10:00 a m Thursday at the church until time of services A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home at 6:30 p m Wednesday

Catherine (Bultman) Antonissen, 84, of Maplewood, passed away on December 3rd, 2023, at the Pete and Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing Center in Sturgeon Bay following a month-long illness. Cathy was born on December 10, 1938, in Algoma to Anthony Sr and Vera (Haack) Bultman. Her greatest joys and blessings were always found in the arms of family. She found great delight running through the family's orchard with her siblings on her way to Bruemmerville or time on the family farm. She graduated from Algoma in 1956, where we often heard the mantra, "hard as nails, tough as bricks, were the class of 56". Following graduation, she entered into Holy Family Nursing School in Manitowoc graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1959. There she met her longlasting friends Betty and Barb. She married the love of her life Joseph E. Antonissen on May 28, 1960, and fully supported him in what became a lifelong military career. While her nursing career ceased in 1963 as they began their family, nursing was at the forefront of everything she did as they went on to raise six children. She became a pillar of strength and was the foundation of all military moves as their family continued to grow. Together their military travels took them to Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Omaha, Nebraska, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Presque Isle, Maine and Okinawa. Their final move took them home to Maplewood in 1976. Along the way they met many friends who also became extended members of our family throughout the years. Cathy shared her love of snail mail with all of her niece's and nephews throughout the years, never missing the chance to send birthday cards. Her weekly pen pal letters to her sister Jeanne were kept on the cupboard for all to read and we were continually updated with the changes happening within our family. She loved the art of a penned letter to family and to her the handwritten notes received were worth more than gold. She shared daily phone calls with her sister Margie. Her children's birthdays were celebrated with her famous chocolate cake, voicemails with a "Happy Birthday" sung and reciting the times of our births to us along with our individual stories of what occurred on our special day. Her love of nursing even though she wasn't practicing in the field continued to be a passion of hers and her love of healthcare was passed on to her kids where 5 out of 6 children entered into the path of serving others in health care, a well-known trait learned from one of the best. Cathy is survived by her children, Tim (Sue) Antonissen, Jeff (Mandi) Antonissen, Tree (Steve) Delarwelle, Paul (Shari) Antonissen, Ann (Steve) Bretl, Jennifer (Travis) Olson. Catherine is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Jordan, Derek, Greg, Gabe, Emma, Cory (Abby), Casey, Bryant, Austin, Mason, Alexandra, Emily, Elizabeth, Paige, Maiya Jo, Joseph and her four great grandchildren, Bennett, Jonathan, Julia and Oliver. Her siblings, Margie Naze, Jeanne DeDecker, David Bultman and Tony (Theresa) Bultman. Her in-laws, Mary and Fred TePaske and Jim and Gail Antonissen. She was reunited in heaven with her loving husband Joe, her parents and her special sister Rosie and her husband John Meyer. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws Lucille and Joe Antonissen, and many other family members. Our mother was special, as all mothers are. She took delight in all things that are simple, a family gathering, attending numerous school events, taking a ride to the Algoma beach or visiting with Barb at the library, she could be found walking in her yard or amongst her flowers. As we entered into her illness she reminded our family that to love and be loved is our greatest gift in life and that her love for us would go on forever. Remember me when you see children for they are God's creation and know that I have tried my best. Remember me in the winter when the snow falls gently and makes a winter wonderland of beauty amongst the evergreen. Clyde Johnson

Clyde W. Johnson, 76 of Sturgeon Bay, died at home with family by his side on November 26, 2023. He was born on December 31, 1946 in Sturgeon Bay to Walter and Dorothy (Fitzgerald) Johnson. After graduating from Gibraltar High School in 1965, he was drafted into the Marine Corps where he served two years in Barstow, CA. On February 1, 1969, he married Nancy K. Peil in Baileys Harbor. Clyde worked most of his years as a meat cutter at Piggly Wiggly in Algoma and Kewaunee and then at Pick n Save. After his "retirement" he worked at Dunham's then at Jim Olson Motors where he enjoyed transporting vehicles. In his spare time, Clyde enjoyed woodworking, small engine repair, telling jokes, and "picking on" his grandchildren and caregivers. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nancy; son, Jim (Kristin) Johnson, Menasha; daughter, Vicki (Don) Prust, Baileys Harbor; grandchildren, Tyler (McKaylin), Nathan and Caitlin Johnson; Alex, Brad, and Zach Prust; brother, Allen (Dawn) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Dwaine Peil, and Dennis (Mary) Peil; his cat, Cuddles; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Harold and Beverly Peil; sister, Joanne (Marvin) Henry; and sister-in-law, Joanne Peil. Dennis Mcintosh

Age - 76

Dennis David McIntosh 76, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at home with family by his side on November 25, 2023. He was born on November 9, 1947, in Chicago, IL to Horace and Bernice (Planz) McIntosh. Dennis barely graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1965. On November 26, 1966, he married Jane F. Kneeland in St. Paul, MN. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2022. In 1967, he was drafted into the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 as an M. P. in the D. M. Z. with the 5th Infantry. When he returned home, he decided to serve his community and became a deputy for DuPage County Sheriff's Department. In 1978, he and his family moved to Wisconsin where he worked in law enforcement for another 25 years, ending his police career as Chief in Sturgeon Bay. Dennis was proud of his police career, especially graduating from the F. B. I. academy in 1985. In 2004, he was elected Mayor of Sturgeon Bay and accomplished many of the city's goals including securing funding for the Oregon Street Bridge and the new city hall. From 2004 to 2016 Dennis had another career at Baylake Bank as their Corporate Security Officer, where he made many wonderful friendships. Upon retirement, Dennis enjoyed going to the casino and driving his Corvette and taking it to several car shows. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his granddaughter, Lauren. In 2023, Dennis found happiness and companionship with Karen Balchunas and on September 11, 2023, they were married in Sturgeon Bay. Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Scott (Regina) McIntosh, Green Bay; daughter, Jennifer (Jonathan) Meacham, Sturgeon Bay; one granddaughter, Lauren Meacham; a sister, Carol Cummings, Lyndon, IL; two brothers, Timothy "Bud" McIntosh, Glen Ellyn, IL; Chuck (Sue) McIntosh, Lombard, IL; two brothers-in-law, James (Georgia) Kneeland, De Pere, WI; Michael (Connie) Kneeland, Inver Grove Heights, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane; brother-in-law, Wesley Cummings; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Kneeland. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a. m. Audrey Ann (Peterson) Hasenjager, 93, of the Town of Sevastopol, was called Home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 23, 2023, after residing at Sturgeon Bay Health Services in Sturgeon Bay with family at her side. She was born August 21, 1930, in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of the late Clarence Oliver and Ruth Emma (Zirbel) Peterson. Audrey graduated from Sevastopol High School with the Class of 1948. On February 26, 1949, Audrey married Allan Edward Hasenjager at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy, where she remained a lifelong member. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before he preceded her in death on May 15, 2019. Together, Allan and Audrey owned dairy farms in Egg Harbor and following the home fire there bought their farm in the Town of Sevastopol. They were a team and Audrey assisted Allan in his sales company, representing Clay Equipment Corp. , MFS Grain Systems, Jamesway Barn Equipment and Rochester Silos. Audrey will be missed by her son and daughter, Daniel (Janice) Hasenjager of Green Bay and Jane (Mike) Stouder of Republic, MO; six grandchildren, Amanda Hasenjager and Eric (Amber) Hasenjager, Heather (Jeremy) Johnson, John Stouder, Sheryl (Justin) Portis, and Jason (Beth) Stouder; three step-grandchildren, Tricia Spice, and Ryan (Angelina) Kruse and Mike (Leewaune) Stouder, Jr. ; eight great-grandchildren, Conner and Rylee Bownds, Olivia and Amaya Portis, Allan Stauder, Emalyne and Wyatt Duchan, and Hayes Hasenjager; six step-great-grandchildren, Craig and Isabella Kruse, Logan and Lily Johnson, and James and Ashley Stouder; sister, LaVerne Vandermause of Kiel; two sisters-in-law, Donna Peterson of the Town of Sevastopol, and Donna Peterson of Sturgeon Bay; siblings-in-law, June Kruetter, Don Hasenjager, Elaine (Don) Neinas, Glenn (Penny Olson) Hasenjager, Leon (Rosemary) Hasenjager, Linda (Kerry) Moore, and Clyde (Linda) Hasenjager; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends. Walter Dobrick Alvin, 98, of Sturgeon Bay, was called Home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 18, 2023 while at the Pete and Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing Center at Door County Medical Center where had been residing the past couple months. He was reunited his wife, Frances, who passed away exactly four years prior, November 18, 2019. He was laid to rest beside his wife, Frances, in the columbarium at Bayside Cemetery in the Town of Sevasopol with a private committal service with Rev. David Leistra officiating. Sandra Lynn Pierre, 72, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 22, 1951, in Milwaukee to Raymond and Dorothy (Hansen) Schmitz. For many years Sandy worked for Emerson Motors in Sturgeon Bay. Most recently, she was employed by Hart & Hart Boutique in Fish Creek where she made many friends. Sandy enjoyed volunteering on the Miss Door County Pageant Committee for numerous years. Sandy's family was everything to her and no matter the distance, she always found a way to make them feel special. She treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and she loved attending all their activities and extracurricular events. Her great-grandchildren affectionately called her "Gigi". She is survived by four daughters, Stephanie Van Duyse, Green Bay; Jamie (Peter) Claflin, Forestville; Danielle (Tom) Pierre, Brussels; Heather (Lance) LaVine, Sturgeon Bay; 10 grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Hunter, Austin (Alysha), Jensen, Ryan, Harley, Zachery, Finley and Adley; 2 great-grandchildren, Blake and Lincoln; sister-in-law Kathy Schmitz; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. "Frances Ann (Ireland) McCarthy, 86, of Sturgeon Bay, died peacefully on Nov. 12th, 2023. Fran was born Jan. 30th, 1937 in Glens Falls, NY. , to Francis A. and Mary Louise (Jones) Ireland. She grew up with two sisters: Rosemary and Mary Louise. She graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1955. She met her loving husband (John H. McCarthy Jr. ) at St. Lawrence University where she asked him to attend a skating party on the Grassy River as her date because he was an excellent skater. Fran and John were married Aug. 20th, 1960. Fran had two main ambitions in her life: to be a teacher and a mother. She taught English in elementary schools and English-as-a-Second Language at Fox Valley Technical College. Fran enjoyed reading poetry, gardening, walking, playing cards, traveling to Sanibel Island and spending time at Sunshine Lake with family. Fran loved all things chocolate and a good scoop of ice cream. Fran was an exceptional grandmother and loved the time she spent with her grandchildren with whom she has created special memories. Fran was a wonderful Mom to six children and 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. We, who are left, will miss her beautiful smile, kindness, and love. She inspired us by her beautiful relationship with God and she modeled a life of quiet prayer, meditation and sincere faith. We have lost our matriarch, but we celebrate the memory of a woman richly and abundantly blessed. She was our mentor, teacher, and advocate. We shall honor her always by living the legacy she has given us, holding onto the values and traditions she developed within each of us. Fran is survived by her husband, John H. McCarthy Jr. , children: Kathleen (Nikos) A. McCarthy, John 'Jay' H. McCarthy III, Patrick (Kelly) I. McCarthy, Amy (Amy) C. McCarthy, Michael C. McCarthy, Sarah (David) E. McCarthy Neumann; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. End of life care was provided by Prairie Home Assisted Living which was built and run by Fran and John. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for their loving care of Mom. Their dedication and compassion will never be forgotten. Emma Hayot

Emma Hayot, 101, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 with family by her side. Emma always said when she passed away, all that needed to be said was, "Emma's dead, nuff said". We plan to provide a bit more information. She was born in Namur in Southern Door on October 19, 1922 to Henry and Virginia Mallien. Following high school graduation from Brussels High School, Emma married Louis Rankin in 1941. They were blessed with two girls, Charlotte, and Charlene. After Louis passing in 1967, she married Auguste Hayot in 1976. They met when she was a translator (Walloon to English) for a group that traveled to the United States from Belgium. She was known for her typing skills that gave her the nick name, "flying fingers". This skill earned her a state typing championship. Emma worked for the Door County Advocate as a bookkeeper and proofreader for 16 years. A career change would take her to the Bank of Sturgeon Bay where she worked as a teller. Emma retired as a secretary for Door County Social Services. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Sturgeon Bay, the Peninsula Belgian American Club, and enjoyed performing in school plays. In more recent years Emma and Joe played over 6,500 games of Kings Corners with Emma emerging as the winner by 11 games! All her family looked forward to our annual birthday phone call where she played "Happy Birthday" on her harmonica. Emma will be missed by her daughter, Charlotte Lenius; seven grandchildren, David (Carol) Lenius, Kathy (Joe) Krebsbach, Kris (John) Miller, Dan (Jennifer) Lenius, Nicki (Brandon) Powell, Todd (Tonya) Corcoran, Wendy Corcoran; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and Riley, her special dog buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene (Charlie) Corcoran; son-in-law, Dale Lenius; and grandchild. Emma was our beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma who will be missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Matthew Rappl as celebrant. Theresa Rosati peacefully passed away at her home on November 13th, 2023, surrounded by her family. Theresa, born on November 24th, 1920 in Ripi, Italy, to Rosa (Mariani) and Luigi Cortina, embraced a remarkable life that spanned an incredible 102 years. Theresa was eleven days shy from celebrating her 103rd birthday. A devoted mother, Theresa leaves behind a legacy of love through her seven children: Regina Rosati, Stephanie Haack, Michael (Kay) Rosati, Annamarie (Joseph) Bensfield, William (Joanne) Rosati and Jeffrey (Karen) Rosati. She was the cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren: Bryan Maas, Melanie (Dave) Masino, Holly Rosati, Samuel (Kinsy) Rosati, Robert (Rosalind) Rosati, Sarah (Matthew) Cohen, Samantha (Paul) Waterloo, Elizabeth Bensfield, Jake (Sylvie) Bensfield, James Rosati, Jack Rosati, Emily Rosati, Jay Rosati, and Allie Rosati, and great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren: Alyssa Mansfield, Josh Mansfield, Wyatt Rosati, Sloan Rosati, Benjamin Waterloo, Charles Cohen, Vivienne Waterloo, Ricky Cohen, Lily Waterloo and Sofia Rosati. Theresa was sadly preceded in death by her eldest son, Rick Rosati and her husband, Fred Rosati. Theresa's journey began when she and her family emigrated to America, arriving at Ellis Island when she was just nine years old. Settling in Chicago, she graduated from Austin High School in 1938. Theresa pursued her passion for style as a retail clerk at Carson Pirie Scott on State Street in 1944, later resuming her career there in 1980 until her retirement in 1992. In 1946, Theresa married Fred Rosati, and they built their life together in Riverside. Theresa was the epitome of a natural-born mother. She spent two decades with a baby on her hip, a toddler on her leg, and a flurry of activity from the other children throughout their modest home all with a smile on her face. By the time her last child was born, the grandchildren were soon-to-be on their way. Theresa was the heartbeat of the home. She hosted Sunday gatherings for the entire family to come together, nourishing both their souls and their bellies. Theresa was known as the Baby Whisperer. Her nurturing touch and soothing song brought comfort to generations. Theresa did not shy away from hard work. In fact, she was one of those rare people who relished in it, instilling a strong work ethic and self-reliance in her children. A devout Catholic, she was a dedicated member of St. Mary's Parish. Theresa found solace in her faith, enjoyed reading, walking and yard work. A private family service at Stella Maris Parish - Egg Harbor site will honor Theresa's memory, officiated by Father Anthony Birdsall. She will be laid to rest in St. Rosalia Cemetery in Sister Bay, Wisconsin. Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay is assisting the Rosati family with service arrangements.
