"Jonathan Tyler Lyon, 29, of Bluff, City, TN, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Tyler was born in Abingdon, Virginia to Bret Allen and Kimberly Lee Vines Lyon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jared Taylor Lyon; maternal grandparents, Jacqueline and Otis Vines; and his paternal grandparents, Robert T. and Martha E. Lyon. Tyler is survived by his wife, Sarah Lyon; children, Luke and Arabella Lyon; his parents, Bret and Kimberly Lyon; one brother, Jace Allen Lyon; a special sister, Deedee Ponce; special brother, Luke Welch; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and family members that will miss him dearly. Tyler was a member of Brookside Baptist Church in Bristol, TN. He was a gifted guitarist and talented musician. A celebration of Tyler's life will life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Reverend Matt Welch and Reverend Mike Nixon, officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Thursday. "David Odell Vance, age 61, of Bluff City, TN passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of David B. Vance and Josephine Tipton. David was employed for many years setting vaults for Bolton Concrete. He loved his family, being outdoors and the Tennessee Volunteers. David had a great sense of humor and could always tell a good joke. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles. He was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Linda Vance; paternal grandparents, Lynn and Verna Vance; aunt, Barbara Randolf and an uncle, Joe Vance. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Josephine Tipton (Kyle); father, David B. Vance; siblings, Rebecca Vance Birchfield (Bob), Lora Ann Robinette (Mitch), Teresa Gail Kinsler (Chris), Teresa Forester (Kenny), Randy Leonard, Linda Faye Rasnick (Brett), Misty Vance and Patricia Sonner (Steve); a special young lady and "Davys #1 fan," Peyton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. A service to celebrate the life of David will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2023 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City with Mr. Kyle Tipton and Mr. EL Wheeler officiating. The graveside service and committal will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in the Morning View Cemetery, Bluff City. "On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Richard Dale Whitaker, 65, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Rose Whitaker, father, Travis Allen Whitaker, and brother, Allen Whitaker. He was a devoted husband and brother-in-law. He was a proud "daddy" and "granddaddy". He followed a career path leading him from ministry to electrical and lighting design. "Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life," was his favorite saying when providing guidance to his three girls. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether in the garden growing tomatoes, wood working, or creating his own electrical designs. He was very giving of himself, helping those around him in need. "Rick" was a strong man; physically, emotionally, and in faith. He fought through tough battles with his health and survived when no one thought he would. He praised Jesus for every minute. Even in sickness, he was a witness to the power of the Lord. "Let go, and Let God," he would say. He was a blessing and is truly missed by so many including his loving wife, Patti Ann Whitaker; his sister-in- law, Donna Deskins; his three daughters, Alysa Meyer, Jennifer Alayne Whitaker, Alyson Medina; his son -in- law, Blake Meyer; his daughter in law Melinda Medina; his grandchildren, Alyx and Aiden Meyer; his nephews, Jason and James Deskins, Yusuf and Chris Whitaker; his nieces, Sharifah Bearss and Christi Karimah Whitaker; and many special great nieces and nephews. "Herman L. Bouton, age 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at his home after an eleven year battle with colon cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Herman H. Bouton and Marie Bouton Leslie; and one sister, Garnetta Ford. Herman is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years and caretaker, Brenda Goodson Bouton; three daughters, Amy Dulaney (Rick), Diane Bouton (Gordon), and Shannon Wooten; three grandsons, Joshua Blevins (Makayla), Kelin Dulaney (Alex), Christopher Rachel (Brittany), two granddaughters, Megan and Katie Wooten; three great-granddaughters, Vada Dulaney, Oaklyn and Audyn McCracken; and one great-grandson, Weston Rachel; one sister, Sharon Arnold; one brother, Jerry Bouton (Pat); and several nieces and nephews. A lifelong friend, Gary Shipley also survives. Herman served his country in Desert Strom as well as spending 37 years in the National Guard, and 30 years in civil service with the 776th Maintenance Company. He was also a member of Chapter 39 DAV and Bluff City Baptist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Herman L. Bouton will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Tetrick Funeral Home Bluff City Chapel with Pastor Don Pickel officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM prior to the service on Tuesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Morning View Cemetery. Military honors to be accorded by the DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Shane Bouton, Kevin Bouton, Gary Shipley, Jonathan Ford, Jason Ford and Rick Krivo. "James Albert "Jim" Greenway, age 86, of Bluff City, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Jim was born in Johnson City to the late Albert A. Greenway and Ruth Carrier Greenway. In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Fern Godsey Greenway; and a sister, Betty Greenway James. Jim retired from Flav-O-Rich as a machine operator and had also worked at Tennessee Florist Supply. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he worked in the missile program and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and was very creative and enjoyed all kinds of arts and craft projects. He was a huge Chicago White Sox fan and loved baseball. Those left to cherish Jim's memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Charles "Bryan" Greenway and Lisa Gentry Greenway of Bristol, VA; his grandson, Nelson Kyle Greenway of Bristol, VA; his sister, Peggy Rutsis of Bluff City, TN; his brother, Douglas Wayne Greenway of Goode, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will hold a private graveside service in the New Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery at a later time. The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the DaVita staff at Tennessee Valley Dialysis Center for the loving care given to Jim during his dialysis.
