Louada Smith, 88, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 Born on January 14, 1935 in Hustonville, KY to the late George and Artie Walls Johnson She is the widow to the late Bennie Smith Louada was a teacher in the Lincoln County School System for many years She taught and influenced many children all throughout the county She also led the migrant program for Lincoln County She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church Survivors include two children, Michael Smith (Candi) of Bloomington Springs, TN and Linda Smith of Stanford, KY; two brothers, Curtis Durham and Jack Johnson; one sister, Myrtle Duttera; five grandchildren, Sylvia Craig (David), Ben Smith (Rita), Amy Sims (Dustin), Jeremy Smith and Adam Smith; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Craig, Jaxson Smith, Rylee Sims and Layla Sims She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Smith; parents, George and Artie Johnson; Six brothers, Terrill Durham, Elvin Durham, Carlos Durham, Mack Johnson, Ervin Johnson and Earl Durham; and four sisters, Maxine Delk, Mary Woods, Stella Richards and Della Durham A one-day service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY Visitation will be from 11:00 a m to 2:00 p m The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p m with Dr Pamela Combs and Bro Greg Lockard officiating Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Hustonville, KY Active Pallbearers are Jonathan McWhorter, Ronnie Smith, Bruce Smith, Jeff Durham, Chad Durham, Jeff McWhorter, Rylee Sims and Rodney Hicks Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Graves, Layla Sims and Joshua Craig To to the family or in memory of Louada Johnson Smith, please

Alissa Lee Francis Horseman, 73, of Stanford, KY passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. Born on July 10, 1950 in Stanford, KY to the late Cabell D. And Helen Juanita Carroll Francis. Alissa dedicated her life to the care and love of both her family and the minds of countless young students. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, Alissa's legacy is one of love, education, and faith. She was an inspiration in our community having devoted 27 years of her life to Education. She taught at Stanford Elementary and Lincoln County High School before her well-earned retirement. Survivors include her husband, David Horseman of Stanford; two sons, David Horseman, Jr. (Cindy) and Kelly Horseman (Allison); five grandchildren, Molly Browning, Ryan Browning, Ian Horseman, Lydia Horseman and Aaron Horseman; one brother, Cabell D. Francis II; one brother-in-law, Greg Russell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cabell and Helen Francis; and two sisters, Margaret Seifert-Russell and Debbie Francis. A one-day service will be held at Stanford Christian Church on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Visitation will be from 11:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p. m. with Dr. Jim Baughman and Bro. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. On August 31, 2023 Bettie Marie "Greer" Bass (80) entered the gates of heaven where she was greeted by her husband of 61 years, the late Charles Raymond Bass and Jesus. More than anything Bettie loved her children and grandchildren: Donita McCormick (Summer & Alex) Randy Bass (Justin, Audra, & Kayla), Chris Bass (Isaiah & Ethan), and Eva Bishop (Colton & Campden), great-grand children: Casey Marie, Burton Lane, Garrett Owen, and Abigail Rae, and her sons and daughters-in-law: Jeff, Lorrie, Kathy, Kishon and Matt. Bettie's children want the world to know that she loved us more than any human could have loved her children and always had our backs; she was full of wisdom and we all considered her our very best friend; she had a wit and humor that could make you laugh until you cried at just the right time; and, second to her husband and children, her greatest love in life were her siblings: the late Christine Ollish, the late Paul Greer, the late Loretta Greer, Anna Doss, the late Ronald Greer, Richard Greer, her many nieces, nephews, friends, and last but not least, her loyal cat, Jazmine. Crystal Devonna Wilkinson, 45, of Stanford, KY was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Born on October 18, 1977 in Stanford to Frankie Gooch and Elishia Wilkinson. Crystal was a member of the Bethel A. M. E. Church - Boneyville, Stanford, KY. She worked for American Greetings in Danville, KY for 20 years. Crystal loved life to the fullest and she was always there to help anyone in need, even when she didn't feel good herself. She was always ready to crack a joke to get a laugh. She battled with Leukemia for two years, yet she remained resilient and always kept a smile on her face. To know her was to love her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jody Maurie Wilkinson; grandparents, Louis and Alene Wilkinson, and Monroe Grisby; one aunt, Linda Goodloe; three uncles, James A. Gooch, Robert Mitchell Wilkinson and Jackie M. Gooch. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving parents, Frankie Gooch and Elishia Wilkinson, one sister, Tameka Wilkinson; nephew, Cameron Britton; niece, Jodi Makiya Wilkinson; grandparents, Ernest and Irene Gooch; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
