Lou Ann Hale, 94, of Whitesboro, Texas went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 6, 2023 after a brief illness. Lou Ann was the eldest daughter of Vernon and Elsie (Enoch) Cravens, born on June 30, 1929 in Drumright, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Robert Randall Hale on December 27, 1949. Together they raised two sons and a daughter in a loving Christian home and remained dedicated to each other, the Lord, and their family for 72 years. Lou Ann was a church pianist at Nogles Avenue Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years and she also taught Sunday school there for the special needs children's class. She enjoyed playing the piano for her Sunday school classes over the years. She worked for the Jenks Public School district for 24 years before she and Bob moved to Whitesboro in 2001 to be close to family. She then worked as a teaching assistant in Lillie White's classroom until Lillie retired from teaching. Her happiest years were spent in Arlington, Texas from 1967 to 1977 where she and Bob attended University Baptist Church with their family and lived on Hollywood Drive with the most wonderful neighbors and friends. Lou Ann had a wicked sense of humor which was passed along to not only her children, but to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. She was funny to the very end, and we adored her for it. She is survived by her sister, Marcia Jo Lumpkin; son, Mark Allen Hale and wife, Pam; son, Paul Brian Hale and wife, Sandy; daughter, Marcia Deann "Dee" Cooper and husband, Wayne; five grandsons, Dave Hale, Doug Hale, Jeffrey Hale, John Cooper, and Wyatt Cooper; five great-grandchildren, Vaughn, Banke, Wilder, Ike and Elliott. Graveside services honoring Lou Ann will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Mike Flanagan. No formal visitation is scheduled at this time.

Rita Mae Young Lovejoy, 84, of Whitesboro, Texas was ushered into heaven on Friday, November 10, 2023 to a glorious reunion with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved family that had gone on before her. Rita was born on July 1, 1939 in Delaware Bend, Texas to William "Bill" and Vivian Lucille (Martin) Young. She met a young man named Hank Lovejoy when she was fifteen years old, and the rest is history. Hank and Rita were married on June 15, 1958 in Whitesboro, Texas. They went on to raise three amazing children, mentor countless individuals throughout Whitesboro and surrounding areas and to carry on the legacy of Lovejoy's on Main in Whitesboro. Love your neighbor as yourself" was how Rita lived her life. She was a "noticer" of people and what would be helpful to them. She did it quietly, but so consistently, taking countless meals to people who were ill or grieving, making pounds and pounds of candy for her family and delivering on Christmas day (with a carol or two) to those who might've spent the day alone. She was a hard worker and loved family. Nina was famous for all the notes she wrote to her kids and family through the years. Making birthdays memorable was one of her favorite ways to celebrate people. She managed to work full-time, cook breakfast and dinner most days, sing at numerous funerals, strain the milk after Hank milked their cow, helped lead a young marrieds Sunday School class for over 25 years with Hank, and had FCA breakfasts at their home. Her grandchildren will think of her every time they eat a waffle! She loved making things beautiful and paid attention to quality and detail, especially in her sewing. She made dresses for herself and her girls all their lives including prom and wedding dresses for both Laurie and Sharon. She loved the Lord, her Lord, with all her heart and finally saw him along with her precious son, Chris and so many other loved ones, on Friday night. What a reunion she has had! Rita is survived by her husband, Hank Lovejoy; daughter, Laurie Hilliard and husband, Charles; daughter, Sharon Autry and husband, Pat; grandchildren, Alec and Morgan Hilliard, Abby and Tommy Brandt, Avery Hilliard, Addison Hilliard, Kalie and Tanner Goldsmith, Coutney and Landon Stevens, Brittlea Autry, Crislynn Autry and Davis Autry, great-grandchildren, Arwyn, Jet, Lola, and Loretta Goldsmith, Hudsyn and Kinley Mitchell, Finnik Christoper Stevens, brother, Jack Young and wife, Myna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Vivian Young, son, Chris Lovejoy, brother, Clinton Young and sister, Verna Mayo. Funeral Services honoring Rita will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, officiated by her family. Eva Joyce Simmons, 81, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to heaven on Monday, October 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on December 14, 1941 in Gordonville, Texas to Lonnie and Gracie (Baker) Cravens. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. She retired from Texas Instruments in Sherman after 40 years of service. Joyce was a member of the D Street Church of Christ in Whitesboro and of the Woodmen Circle. She enjoyed reading, gardening, watching birds and scary movies. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, she loved to decorate and pass out candy to all the neighborhood kids. She was a wonderful lady and had many children that ran in and out of her home and she loved them all just as her own. She loved and cherished her family and enjoyed the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. She is survived by her son, Bubba Simmons and wife, Rhonda of Whitesboro; daughter, Vicki Watson and husband, Nathan of Denison; daughter-in-law, Lisa Simmons of Whitesboro; sister, Lonnette Davidson and husband, John of Collinsville; grandchildren, Jamie Simmons- Finch, Colt Simmons, Phoenix Simmons, Loren Kemp, Chelsea Byers, Nathan Watson III, Joshua Watson, Jacob Watson, Ben Watson, Rachel Watson, Kelsey Geisler, Langstyn Watson, and Asher Watson; great-grandchildren, Slade Finch, Arthur Simmons, Furiosa Simmons, Olivia Simmons, Corbin Vernon, Camdyn Vernon, Brayden Byers, Raeghen Byers, Addison Kemp and Epi Kemp, nieces and nephews, Randy Smith and wife, Debbie, Debbie Brule and husband Kevin, Ryan and Zane Ferguson, Kalyn Brule, Britni Smith, and Bryan Smith, as well as other loving family and friends. Betty Nell Eubanks (nee Hoffman) of Whitesboro, TX, age 86, went peacefully to be with our Lord on August 15, 2023 at home. She met the one and only love of her life, Howard Eubanks of Athens, Alabama at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls where they married in 1959. They shared a life together until death parted them in 2005. In 1997 they moved to Whitesboro, TX where she gardened and together, they cared for the many stray animals that showed up on their doorstep. Compassion and her welcoming heart extended to the people in her life as well. There was never a time when her door wasn't open to whomever was in need. She was home embodied to many more than just her children, but especially to them. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard, her parents, Harvey and Ines Hoffman and her siblings Melba Fenoglio, June Cheek and Don Hoffman. She is survived by her siblings, Wanda Hoffman, Norma Land and Harvey Hoffman; children, Debra Urbina, Sharon Bolin, Diana Stallard and Donna Sorrells; grandchildren, Rachel Mize, Sarah Childress, Aaron Dara, Elyse Dara, Sam Stallard; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was loved and will be greatly missed by others as well. Her many prayers born from love are the most valuable inheritance she left for her family. Joey Linder - Potter, 89, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023 at her home in Whitesboro, Texas, surrounded with loving family and her two cats. Joey was born to her parents Robert and Vivian Crandall in Wichita, Kansas on January 10, 1934. She was also blessed in sharing her life with two husbands, Ray Linder, and Bruce Potter, who both filled her life with love, companionship, and full life experiences, which she truly cherished during her journey. Joey was a homemaker, piano teacher, and 1 grade schoolteacher at the Auburn Elementary School in Kansas where she also served as president of the Teachers Union. She was instrumental in helping shape the lives of hundreds of children with her elementary and piano students. Joey served many organizations, including being a 50-year P. E. O. member, holding many local and state positions and serving her various Methodist churches in the same manner. One of the highlights was participating and performing in their Bell Choirs of the church. She was also an accomplished String Bass player, participating in the Community Band in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and other performances in the area. Joey is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vivian Crandall, her husbands, Ray Linder and Bruce Potter. She is survived by her brother, Robert Crandall of South Odgen, Utah; daughter, Janice Burch and husband, Dick of Whitesboro, Texas; two grandchildren, Leslie Spaeny and husband, Ryan of Grapevine, Texas; Kim Woodell and husband, Brian of Noble, Oklahoma; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Gavin, and Charlotte (Charlie). She cherished and loved all her family members dearly as well as being cherished and loved by her family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at the Highland Methodist Church 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715 on Saturday September 9 2023. Carla Jean Case, 75 of Whitesboro, Texas passed away on July 23, 2023. She was born on May 6, 1948, in Whitesboro, Texas to W. T. Center and Rena Lucille Martin. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Carla married Mike Case on July 19, 1968, in Whitesboro. Carla loved her family, Mike, her kids and grandkids. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. Carla was also a good daughter to her parents, taking care of her mom while in the nursing home. She was called "grandmom", Jennie, Carla Jean and her dear friends called her Lou. Carla loved her yearly trip to Jefferson, Texas with girlfriends. She was also a member of the Ladies of Contemporary Women's Club. Carla's career included working for Aletha Bryan, Dub Hayes Drug Store, Cook's Mercantile and secretary for KMC Fabrication, a family business. She always took pride in how she looked and was always the lady with her hair done and pretty clothes. Carla loved collecting nut crackers, flamingos, Jim Shore lighthouses, dishes and antiques. She also loved the annual blue bonnets, tulips and decorating for Christmas. Carla was a devote Christian. Carla is survived by her husband, Mike Case of Whitesboro, Texas; son Marc Case and wife, Tracy of Whitesboro, Texas; son, David Case and wife, Jami of Whitesboro, Texas; grandchildren, Conner Case and significant other, Cally Johnson, Hunter Case, Gabbie Case and Mason Case; numerous Martin family members, cousins and an Uncle; brother in law, Ken Case and wife, Kay; sister in law, Laura Cook and husband, Dennis; sister in law, Debbie Neely and husband, Jimmy; adopted sisters, Judy Aston and Karen Butts, Karen Brannon. Preceded in death by parents, W. T. Lucille Center; brother, Larry Center; friend, Nannette Anderson. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Meador Funeral Home, Hwy 377, Whitesboro with Brother Rick Carney officiating.
