Lorraine Mcafee Obituary

Of Munhall, a native of Turtle Creek, age 80, died on Friday, September 8, 2023. Lorraine was the beloved daughter of John and Carmella (Sabino) Reith, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the loving sister of Diane (late Robert) Bonacci of Forest Hills, Dorothy Reith Conway of Swisshelm Park, the late Josephine (late John) Blazevich, late John "Jack" (Janet) Reith and the late Glenn Reith. Lorraine is also survived by nieces and nephews. Lorraine was a 1960 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. An early part of her working career was organizing bus tours for students to Washington D. C. and for senior citizen groups to tour and visit local destinations and places of interest. In 1991, Lorraine was hired by the Pittsburgh Press as a mailer and became a member of the Mailers Union, Local #22. After the closure of the Press, she continued her career with the Post-Gazette until she retired in 2011. Lorraine was a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Group in Homeville where she made many friends and enjoyed the activities of the group, including travelling, playing bingo and visiting casinos. Her favorite pastime was any time spent time with family and friends, especially with her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends are welcome on Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 2-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. , Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave. , Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Colman Church, Turtle Creek (St. Joseph the Worker Parish) on Wednesday. Time to be determined. Lorraine will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery.
