Donald Eugene “Don” Redmond, Jr., 71, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in his home.Don was born on July 5, 1952, in Greenville, PA, a son of the late Donald and Gladys (Reinhart) Redmond, Sr. He was a 1971 graduate of Farrell High School and earned his associate degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.He began his career at the former Peter J. Schmidt Co. and Golden Dawn. He ultimately was a self-employed contractor for over 40 years, owning and operating Redmond’s Painting. He truly enjoyed working and took pride in going above and beyond for all of his clients and family members.Don attended Family Life Church, Hermitage. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5286, Farrell.His most cherished moments were time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also looked forward to vacations and being at the beach.He is survived by his wife, the former Tina Rust, whom he married on August 12, 1995; three daughters, Carly Donnarummo (Salvatore), South Pymatuning Twp., Chantal Redmond (Deven McLaughlin), and Shannon Redmond (Alex Palmer), both of Hermitage; a son, Donald E. Redmond, III (Eugenia), Chicago, ILL; a stepson, Dustin Ohl (Ashley Clark), Sharpsville; a grandson, Jett McLaughlin; and two step-grandchildren, Alice and Oliver Ohl. Also surviving are two sisters, Carol Baumgartner, Youngstown, OH, and Kathy Novotney, Bentleyville, PA; and two brothers, Dennis Redmond (Liana), Hermitage, and Leo D’Amore (Marcia), Sharpsville.In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Brooke Ohl; a sister, Kathy Turjanica D’Amore; and six brothers, Michael and Gary Redmond, Timothy Martin, and David, Thomas and Kenneth D’Amore.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday (02/22/2024)in J. Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Wiesen, 105, of Hermitage, passed away on Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2024, in her home.Mrs. Wiesen was born on February 6, 1919, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (Klaser) Miller. She attended the former St. Joseph Parochial Grade School and Sharon High School.She worked at the former Sharon Store before marriage and becoming a homemaker.Betty was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild.She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and playing bingo and scratch-off tickets. Betty was also an exceptional baker.Her husband, Ralph L. Wiesen, whom she married on June 21, 1947, passed away on April 9, 2004.She is survived by four children, Thomas Wiesen and his wife Diane, Hermitage, James Wiesen, Las Vegas, NV, William Wiesen and his wife Paula, Hermitage, and Alice Wiesen, with whom she made her home; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dixie Wiesen; and four brothers, Edward, William, Ralph and George Miller.The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Joseph’s Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146; or a charity of the donor’s choice.The family would like to thank the Golden Care Givers, especially Kimi and Nancy, for the exceptional care and attention given to their mother.Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (02/25/2024) in J. Mary Hinkson

Mary Hinkson of Hermitage, formerly of Sharon and Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 in the home of her daughter under hospice care after a brief battle with sarcoma.  She was 93.Born March 24, 1930 in Sharon, PA, Mary was one of six children born to Michael Yurchison and Mary (Sargent) Yurchison.  Because of the early death of her mother, Mary was raised in Mercer County Children’s Home before being adopted into the loving home of Frank and Lula Fiedler of Hubbard, Ohio at the age of 8.  At the age of 18, she moved to Mercer, PA and worked at Mercer Cottage Hospital where she met and married her husband, Darold A Hinkson, on July 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1979.   She was an active member of Word of God Christian Fellowship Church in Canfield, Ohio for many years and loved her church family.She was a very devoted and caring mother.  She was an avid walker and enjoyed watching professional figure skating competitions, reading, following the Royal Family, going on bus trips and shopping.She is survived by her daughter Patty (Richard) Martell of Hermitage, PA with whom she made her home; daughter Darlene Brown (Norm) of Titusville, PA, and one son, James Hinkson, of Sharpsville, PA; 2 grandsons, Patrick (Kelli) Martell of Beavercreek, Ohio and Richard Martell of Dublin, Ohio as well as a granddaughter Debbie (Bryan) Davis of Clarion, PA; 3 great grandchildren Devin Dubay, Alexis Dubay and Austin Dubay.  She is also survived by a brother Richard (Rosalyn) of Grove City, PA and sister in laws Moni Yurchison of Ventura, California and Suni Yurchison of Enon, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 children: daughter Edris Mae in 1955, son Darold in 1997 and son Richard in 2023.  Also preceding her in death are siblings John, Pete, Michael and Helen. Our beloved father and husband, Daniel K. Bittler, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in his home. He was 92.Mr. Bittler was born on August 8, 1931, in Sharon, a son of the late Christian and Mildred (Doudy) Bittler. He was a 1949 graduate of Hickory High School, where he was a member of the championship football team. Daniel furthered his education at Allegheny College, Meadville, until he answered his country’s call during the Korean War, and honorably served in the U.S. Army while being stationed in Japan.Upon his discharge, Dan earned his engineering degree from Youngstown State University. He spent his career working as a project manager for the Ohio Department of Transportation. He also served several years as President of the American Society of Highway Engineers.Dan was a member of Hickory Global Methodist Church, Hermitage. Additionally, he was a lifetime member of the NRA, a 32-year member of the American Legion, and the Hickory Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6166, Hermitage.An avid outdoorsman, he loved shooting, hunting, camping and just being outside. He was also highly involved with Boy Scout Troop 141, serving as Scoutmaster and Committee Chair for several years. Daniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cunningham, and is survived by his current wife, Dorothy (Swanson) Kilgore Bittler.In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Daniel K. Bittler, Jr., Cleveland, OK, Dale Bittler, Austintown, OH, David Bittler, Westminster, MD, Michael Bittler, Cleveland, OK, and Mark Bittler, Jamestown, NY; a daughter, Marlene Manser, Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Joan Cunningham, Austintown, and Carol Cook, High Springs, FL; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a brother, George Walter Bittler.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, at www.StJude.orgCalling hour will be 10 am until the time of the service Friday (02/16/2024) in Hickory Global Methodist Church, 240 North Hermitage Rd., Hermitage, PA. Losing a loved one is a difficult and painful experience. On February 9, 2024, Eric D. Emerich was taken unexpectedly.Eric was born on December 12, 1963, in Farrell, a son of William and Judith (Keeler) Emerich, Sr. He was a 1982 graduate of Hickory High School.At age 17, he began working for Hilti Inc. After 41 years of employment, Eric along with Cheryl, purchased the repair machine shop in 2021, which they currently operated as Sisco LLC, New Castle, PA.In 1988, he met Cheryl A. McFarland, in every sense of the word, they were true partners, who built an incredible life of joy and love.Eric was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 82, Hermitage.He is survived by his parents of Chandler, AZ; his partner, Cheryl, Hermitage; two brothers, William R. Emerich, Jr. and his wife Renee, Hermitage, and Kelly Emerich and his wife Kristin, Chandler, AZ; four nieces and nephews, Taylor, Rylee, Quentin and Joseph Emerich. Katherine "Jane" Crissman, 88, of Hermitage, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 31st, 2024 with her family by her side. Katherine (Jane to her friends and family) was born October 20th, 1935 to Katherine (Cline) and Michael Antus in Sharon, PA. She was a graduate of Hickory High School. On July 30th, 1954 she married the love of her life, her husband, the late Paul R. Crissman who passed away May 12th, 2006. They spent over 50 wonderful years together. Jane operated her own beauty/ hair salon for 30 years. She assisted her husband Paul in establishing Carbide Tool Maintenance. She enjoyed watching birds and other wildlife, from the wooded area surrounding her home, Jane is survived by her son, Dale (Barbara) Crissman of Masury, OH, grandchildren, Elizabeth (Robert) McGoff, Justin (Desiree) Crissman, Jacob (Kayleigh) Crissman, great grandchildren, Isabella McGoff, Gabriella McGoff, Ruby Crissman, and Mirabella McGoff. Also surviving are her sisters, Dolores Carroll, Eileen (Kenneth) Zagger, and brother, Richard (Sandy) Antus. Sister in law Lois Adams. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, sisters, Joann Miller, Pat Dzurinda, Marlene Sherman, and brother, Tyrone Antus. Janet Maureen Rosencrans, 79, of Hermitage, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in St. John XXIII Home.Mrs. Rosencrans was born on February 23, 1944, in Julesburg, CO, a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Gladys May (Wize) Johnson, Sr.Janet has been here, there and everywhere following her graduation from Julesburg High in 1962. She earned her bachelor’s degree in home economics with a minor in mathematics from Colorado State University. Her first position following graduation was as an extension agent in Towner, ND. That is where she met her husband, Truman Rosencrans. Following their marriage in 1969, they lived in Nebraska and Wyoming and eventually made their home in Minot, ND, where her husband took a position as a civilian employee at the Minot Air Force Base. They welcomed two daughters, Melanie and Diane. During this time, she took some years off to raise the children.As the girls got older, Janet worked outside of her home again. Major projects included assisting with compiling the Ward County Centennial Book (1986), and the ND State Centennial Quilt (1989).Much of Janet’s time was spent as the main leader for her daughter’s 4-H Club, bowling in leagues and competing at the North Dakota State Fair. She was also a member of the Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society, where she enjoyed countless hours at potluck meals and time sharing.When she had time, she loved to travel, making many trips around the USA and notably a trip to Scotland with her college roommate, Jan Irvine, and a trip to Australia with her daughter, Diane.Her husband, Truman, passed away in 1995. She kept the home in ND until 2014 when she moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to her daughter, Melanie.She is survived by her two daughters, Melanie Cole and her husband Michael, Sharpsville, and Diane Brewer and her husband Wm. Brian, Longview, TX; five grandchildren, Blaine, Barley and Brody Brewer, and Henry and Alice Cole; and a brother, Frank Marion Johnson, Jr. and his wife Ivy Joy, Julesburg, CO.In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by two brothers, Hollis Morris and Clarence “Red” Melvin Johnson.The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, at www.Alz.org; or the Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society, M.R. Wilson, 87, of Hermitage passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in his home.Mr. Wilson was born December 21, 1936, in Sharon, a son of the late Fred and Alvirda (Creighton) Wilson. A 1956 graduate of Sharon High School, he also earned an associate’s degree from Youngstown State University.George managed the New Castle branch of Signal Finance for many years and later worked in the same capacity for The Associates at their Butler and Hermitage branches.George was an active member of St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon, where he served on the parish council, volunteered for the fish fries, was instrumental in the fundraising for the church elevator, and sang in the church choir. He also served on the Mercer Borough Council for several years. An avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan, he also loved camping, traveling, and the performing arts. Most important to George was spending time with family and celebrating the accomplishments of his grandchildren.His wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann (Shayuth) Wilson, whom he married on June 22, 1963, preceded him in death on October 29, 2014.George is survived by a daughter, Julianne Lavin (Anthony Leesang), Sunrise, FL; a son, James Wilson (Lisa), Arlington, VA; five grandchildren, Sarah Lavin and Blake, Kathryn, Rebecca, and Rachael Wilson, two sisters-in-law, Pauline Wilson and Helen Styduhar, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife and parents, George was preceded in death by son, Paul Wilson, three brothers, John “Jack,” Wendell, and Howard Wilson.The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Anthony’s Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, PA 16146.Calling hours will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday (2-4-24) in J.
