We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Lonnie Joe "Butch" Naranjo on August 20, 2023. While we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary soul, let us celebrate the life that brought so much joy to our own. Butch will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved; his wife, children, family, and friends. His presence will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Guadalupe "Buddy" Jr. , and Gloria Naranjo; brothers, Jose Guadalupe "Buddy" Naranjo, III. and Bobby Joe Naranjo. Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Saldaña Naranjo; children, Khalysta Jho Naranjo, Soleil Dayanara Lopez, Alessandro Saldaña Lopez, and Khloe Sophia Lopez; nephews, Deandre (Corina) Naranjo and Joey Naranjo; niece, Andrea Naranjo; great-nephew, Deion Naranjo; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends. A memorial rosary will be recited at 7:00 a. m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 103 Main St, Sarita, TX; with a memorial mass to follow. Services will conclude that morning and a private burial will be held at a later date.

Adela Deleon Garza, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 27, 2023, in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on November 3, 1934, to Rosa De Leon Garza and Regino De Leon. Adela had a gentle soul that radiated warmth and kindness. Family was always at the center of her life. She took great joy in spending time with her loved ones and ensuring their happiness. Adela's nurturing nature made her the heart of family gatherings and celebrations. In addition to her deep dedication to family, Adela possessed a natural talent for arts and crafts. Her creative spirit knew no bounds as she delved into various artistic pursuits. Whether it was baking delicious treats or creating intricate needlepoint designs, she poured her heart and soul into every project. She had an exceptional talent for knitting and crocheting beautiful pieces that became cherished by her family. Her needlework creations were admired for their intricacy and attention to detail. Adela also expressed her artistic flair through painting. One of the highlights of her artistic repertoire was her ability to create stunning flower arrangements that captivated all who beheld them. Each delicate bloom she arranged seemed to convey a story of its own. Additionally, she showcased her creativity in designing exquisite miniature doll dresses that captured the imagination of both young and old alike. Adela also designed unique and eye-catching purses. Her purses were more than just functional accessories; they were works of art. Adela's talent for incorporating different materials and textures into her designs made each bag a true statement piece. She willingly shared her creative talents with those around her. She took great pleasure in teaching her nieces the art of baking, knitting, and crocheting. Adela's patience and gentle guidance nurtured a new generation of artists within her family, creating bonds that will never be forgotten. The memory of Adela Deleon Garza will forever remain etched in the hearts and minds of all those whose lives she touched. Burt Loring Bull, a beloved figure in the community, passed away on November 29, 2023. Born on August 31, 1963, in Kingsville, TX, Burt was the epitome of a loving husband, father, brother, and son. His life was filled with remarkable accomplishments and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Burt's journey began in Kaufer High School where he earned his diploma, laying the foundation for a lifetime of success. Following his education, he embarked on a career that would shape not only his own life but also impact countless others. In 1986, Burt co-founded Integrity Industries and led it with passion and dedication. Under his visionary leadership, the company flourished and became a symbol of trust and excellence within the industry. In September 2009, Burt became a full-time self-employed Rancher of Los Jaboncillos Ranch. Working his land and tending to his cattle, along with his two sons brought him immense joy throughout his life. While Burt's professional accomplishments were indeed remarkable, they were only one facet of his multi-faceted personality. He was a family man through and through, finding true joy in spending time with his loved ones. His sons held a special place in his heart, and he made it a priority to create lasting memories with them. As a loving husband to his wife, Burt exemplified what it means to be supportive and devoted. Beyond the realm of family life, Burt's kindness knew no bounds. He possessed an exceptional ability to make everyone feel at ease in his presence. With an infectious smile that could light up any room, he never met a stranger. Burt's kind-hearted nature endeared him to all who crossed his path; he possessed that rare gift of making others feel seen and valued. He was a board member of the Riviera ISD School Board for 8 years and served as President for 6 of those 8 years;dedicating himself to shaping the educational landscape for future. Additionally, Burt was a proud board member of the Kleberg-Kenedy Junior Livestock Show, where he also took on the role of Superintendent of the Stock Horse Division. His involvement in these organizations allowed him to combine his love for education with his passion for livestock and agriculture. Among Burt's proudest accomplishments was his membership in esteemed organizations, he served as a board member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and Texas A&M University Equine Initiative, a member of the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA), where he won the 2019 NCHA Futurity, and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA). These memberships served as a testament to his expertise and commitment to his craft. Deeply rooted in faith, Burt was an individual guided by his strong belief in God. He attributed all his accomplishments to divine grace and never forgot to give thanks for the blessings bestowed upon him. This unwavering devotion served as an inspiration to those around him, and his faith played an integral role in shaping his honorable character. Burt Loring Bull leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift those who follow in his footsteps. His unwavering faith, kind heart, infectious humor, and profound respect for others defined him as an exceptional individual. Rosaena "Rosie" Suarez, beloved spouse, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She passed away on November 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who loved her. Born on March 18, 1961, Rosie was a remarkable woman whose warm presence made the world around her brighter. Her life was defined not only by her unwavering commitment to her family but also by her dedication to her work. In 1979, she joined Economy Prints and devoted herself wholeheartedly to its success. Throughout the years, Rosie's industrious spirit and unwavering dedication contributed greatly to the company's growth. Her hard work did not go unnoticed, and she eventually rose to become a co-owner of Economy Prints – a proudest accomplishment that was the culmination of numerous years of dedication and perseverance. While Rosie excelled in her career, she also managed to find time for the passions that brought her immense joy. In moments of solitude, she would often be found with a needle in hand, skillfully sewing beautiful creations that showcased her creativity and attention to detail. Music held a special place in Rosie's heart as well; it was through melodies that she found solace and inspiration. And let us not forget Rosie's exceptional culinary skills – her delicious meals were synonymous with love and became cherished memories for all fortunate enough to taste them. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Gilberto and Inez Acuna, sister Marianela Guajardo, brother Arnold Acuna, and nephew Mike Acuna. Above all else, Rosie valued time spent with family. Rosie leaves behind her spouse, David Perez, daughter Melinda Suarez, her siblings Rene (Lupita) Acuna, Eddie (Lynette) Acuna, and Juan Acuna, her grandson Devin Salazar, and numerous extended family members. To honor her memory, a service will be held for Rosaena "Rosie" Suarez on Friday, December 1, 2023, beginning at 5:00pm and ending at 9:00pm. During this time, the family will receive condolences as we look back on the memories we will forever cherish. We will begin reciting the holy rosary at 7:00pm that evening, and this will conclude the services for Friday. An interment will take place on a later date, December 9, 2023, at 10:00am, at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery. Following the interment, the family will be having a lunch at Central Baptist Church and would like to invite all friends and loved ones who can make it. Our precious mother, Rita Gaye Shafer, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born on March 2, 1938, in Palacios, Texas to Dr. Edwin Frank Ryon and Elaine Huddleston Ryon. She lovingly devoted her life to her family, and took great pride in teaching, guiding, and watching over many of the children of Kingsville while working at the First United Methodist Daycare Center where she spent her 36-year career starting as teacher, and retiring as director in 2007. Rita loved her life, her family, her friends and her neighbors. She was a devout Christian and beautiful example to her children and all those around her. She served at her beloved church, First Christian Church, as well as in her community and truly loved the Lord. There is no doubt her spirit is souring, and the Lord has prepared the most beautiful place for her to spend her eternal life with all her loved ones that have gone before her. She is preceded in death by, her husband Alfred Edwin Shafer; parents; and sister, Cyndi Shepard. Amongst those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Rodney Shafer (daughter Ashley), Scott Shafer (wife Traci, daughter Katie, son Trent), Gaye Alcoser (husband Tony, son Grant), and Steve Shafer (wife Nicole, son Andrew, daughter Alora, son Nick); siblings, Jan Becker († Harvey), Ron Ryon (wife Barbara), and Judy Sissom; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Born on April 4, 1950, Pancho grew up in a small town where he developed a deep appreciation for hard work and the simple pleasures of life. His career spanned over two decades at the King Ranch, where he worked cooking for the cowboys at camp. Pancho's commitment to his work was evident in every task he undertook. His dedication and knowledge made him an indispensable part of the team. While Pancho's professional accomplishments were admirable, it was his role as a family man that truly defined him. He adored his family and valued spending quality time with them above all else. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and nothing brought him greater joy than seeing their smiles light up a room. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table or embarking on memorable adventures together, Pancho cherished every moment spent with those he loved. Outside of work and family life, Pancho enjoyed two important hobbies: fishing and cooking. The tranquility he found while casting a line into the water was unmatched. It was during these moments that he could connect with nature and find solace within himself. And when it came to cooking delicious meals for his family, Pancho's talent knew no bounds. His culinary creations will forever be remembered as a tangible expression of his love and care. Baseball also held a special place in Pancho's heart. For over three decades, he selflessly served as a baseball coach to countless aspiring athletes in his community. Through his patient guidance and mentorship, he instilled not only sports skills but also important values such as teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship. Pancho's impact as a coach extended far beyond the field. His influence shaped the lives of many young individuals who looked up to him with admiration and gratitude. Pancho Garza will always be remembered as a compassionate and selfless man whose love knew no bounds. Our mother worked as a Custodian her entire life. Making everyone's life extremely clean and easy to live in. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, brother/sister, aunt, and friend. Tejano music was in her soul and dancing was her conduit to pure joy. The sound of her laughter and gritos will live in our hearts forever. She was devoted to giving you her last dollar if she saw you needed it, even if it left her broke. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by Ambrosio Salazar(father), Aurelia Jimenez(mother), Reynaldo Jimenez (step father), Felipe Salazar(brother) & Prudencio (Eddie) Salazar(brother). She is survived by her children, daughter Pamela (Rene) Cortez and son Pedro (Diane) Rios III. Her grandbabies, as she called them, Miranda (Damian) Delapaz, Joel R. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. DeWitt Talmage Lee, Jr. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and member of the Bishop community. He was born on December 3, 1932, in Driscoll, Texas and passed away on November 25, 2023. He graduated from Robstown High School, Texas A & I University, and University of Texas Dental School. While at Texas A & I he met and was married to his wife of 71 years, Wilda Jo Lee. During his Senior year of dental school he entered the Air Force in Amarillo, TX and served for 3 years. They then moved to Bishop, TX in 1959 and opened a dental practice where he faithfully served the surrounding community for over 40 years. He was a very respected leader in the Bishop community. He was a Lifetime member of the Bishop Lion’s Club and active in the Bishop Chamber of Commerce, having served as President and also received the Outstanding Citizen Award. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bishop, serving in numerous leadership positions. Of all his accomplishments, nothing made him prouder than his family. Dr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents: DeWitt T. Lee, Sr. and Verda Mae Lee. He leaves behind a grateful family who’ve been blessed immensely by his life and example. He was a warm and loving man who was adored by his friends and family. Francisco's life was marked by service, both to his country and to those around him. Born on October 10, 1949, Francisco grew up in a tight-knit community in Kingsville, Texas, where he was a former member of St. Joseph prayer worship team. Francisco proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War; his bravery and dedication to his fellow soldiers never wavered. After completing his military service, Francisco pursued a career in school maintenance. He applied the same level of discipline and commitment to his civilian work as he did during his time in the army. For many years, Francisco dedicated himself to ensuring that the learning environment for students was safe and conducive to their growth and development. It was only upon reaching retirement that he finally hung up his tools. Francisco had a passion for classic cars that went beyond mere appreciation. He collected these icons of automotive history with meticulous care, each one representing a unique story and memory. However, Francisco's love for classic cars extended far beyond collecting them; he also enjoyed racing them with great enthusiasm. The thrill and exhilaration were experiences that brought him immense joy. Additionally, music played a significant role in Francisco's life. He had a talent for playing the guitar and strumming beautiful melodies that resonated with those around him. It was through music that he found solace and expressed emotions words couldn't capture. While Francisco possessed an undeniable mechanical knack for cars and instruments, it is his family who knew him best as a reliable foundation of support and unconditional love. For over five decades, Francisco shared his life with his beloved wife Mary Jane Galindo. Together, they built a strong and enduring partnership, weathering life's storms with unwavering dedication.
