It is unimportant when I was born or when I died. It is what happened in between that matters. I protectedmy family and friends. Whether it was the game of life or some fun activity, I worked hard, played by the rules and enjoyed it all. Don't shed tears, tell a joke or two, or share a few stories of the good times we had. I lived life to the fullest for my capabilities. I leave with few regrets. I am survived by my children Rachelle (David) Prater, Madison (Beverly) Wilhelm, and my five grandchildren Hunter (Madeline) Prater, Connor Prater, Ross Wilhelm, Matthew Wilhelm, and Cole Prater. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice.

Age - 68

November 29, 2023

Michael Kevin Roberts lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease Monday morning, November 27, 2023 at the Bridgeview Center in Ormond Beach. Kevin was father to two wonderful sons, Kevin Roberts Jr and Max Roberts. Kevin was a devoted son to his mother, Norma Rea, caring for her for over 10 years. He is survived by his former wife Glenda Roberts, his sons, Kevin Roberts Jr, and Max Roberts, his brothers, Ken Roberts III. (Linda); Kirt Roberts, and his sisters, Caroline Bernhardt (Conrad); Kathy Crafton (Bob); Charlene Allen (Rich); Cheryl Rein, and Christina Simcox (Chris). Kevin was born in Falls Church, VA but lived in the Daytona Beach area for most of his life. He was an artist, an inventor, a photographer and an avid surfer. Kevin was very creative as a young man and won multiple awards for his paintings and artwork. Some of his early work graced the walls of the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C. Kevin was always tinkering with something. Designing something. Inventing something. He was most proud of "Surf the Ring". It is a perpetual wave machine created to offer surfers the Perfect Wave. . . He created a huge prototype with hundreds of tiny handmade gears. The surfing world embraced his concept, purchased his patent, and several Wave Machines are currently being built around the world. Kevin loved photography and spent most of his adult life working in the world of black and white and four-color separations. He also did web design and created the first tourist website to promote the Daytona Beach area. Visit Daytona. com was an instant success. But let us not forget that Kevin was - above all else - a Gator fan supreme! He was a graduate of the University of Florida with a BA in Psychology and he loved his school. He never missed a game and while living with Mom he would pop popcorn - pop a beer and settle in with hopes that his team would win! There was lots of yelling - even Mom joined in the cheering for the Gators to win the day! Good times. And there were lots of good times. Good times with family and friends. And those quiet times sitting alone on a surfboard - waiting for the next perfect wave. Time - we are out of time. . . There will be a Celebration of Life for Kevin at Dale Woodward Funeral Home 167 Ridgewood Av, Daytona Beach, Friday 12/1/23 at 11:00.Show more

In Memory of Adam MorrisonIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Adam Morrison, a cherished son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend, on November 1, 2023. Born on August 23, 2001, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Adam's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit and commitment to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Since his early childhood days, Adam radiated boundless energy and enthusiasm. He found joy in constructing intricate projects with Lego bricks and in spending time with his loyal dog, Cooper. His extraordinary speed made him an unbeatable contender, whether racing through the streets with his siblings and friends or gliding through the pool as a gifted young swimmer. Adam was a proud graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, where he cultivated his passion for engineering. His pursuit of a mechanical engineering degree and his dedication to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) for four years with the Army showcased his deep sense of duty and leadership. Beyond the classroom and military service, Adam found solace and joy in working on trucks, a hobby that allowed him to showcase his mechanical prowess and creativity. His love for this hands-on work mirrored his approach to life - methodical, diligent, and filled with a genuine enthusiasm for exploration. Adam's passions extended far beyond his truck; he had a deep love and appreciation for his bird, Markus, who brought companionship and cheerful melodies to Adam's life. While our hearts are broken with Adam's passing, we find comfort in the thought of his reunion with Markus, as their special bond lives on. Adam is survived by his parents, Vanessa and David Morrison, and by his six siblings, Sam, David, Robby, Heidi, Erin, and Kelly, whose lives he touched with his warmth, kindness, humor, and unwavering support. He is also survived by his grandparents, Bob and Barbara Morrison, and Hiliary and Steve Stephens, his aunts, uncles, seven cousins, two nephews, and a niece, who also mourn the loss of Adam, who was always there for them and who brought joy to their lives for the last 22 years. While we grieve the untimely loss of Adam, we also celebrate the beautiful life he led and the indelible impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. The Morrison family invites friends and well-wishers to join them in a service to honor Adam's memory at the Jim W. Henderson Administration and Welcome Center, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, on November 12, at 2:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, donations are kindly requested to be made to a fundraiser located on Go Fund Me. Donations will go directly to the Morrison Family to help with financial costs through this difficult time. May Adam rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire us all.Show more

Fares Salame

Fares Salame

Age - 73

October 22, 2023

Fares Salame was born December 1, 1949, and passed away surrounded by his family on October 14th, 2023 at the age of 73. Fares was born and raised in the village of Antoura, Lebanon as one of seven children in a Maronite Catholic household. As a student at College Saint Joseph Antoura, he was an elite sportsman and set multiple athletic records. He also became captain of the Lebanese national basketball team, traveling Europe and the Middle East to compete. Fares was nicknamed "le bombardier de l'equipe" known for his speed, skill, and power on the court. Fares was a self-made man who believed in honesty, hard work, and the American dream. He came to the US in 1971 to study aviation and obtained his pilot's license. He eventually shifted his focus from flying to management and business. Along the way he waited tables, managed a restaurant, and worked in medical retail. He also worked in a family-owned Middle Eastern bakery. It was there where he reconnected with Maryrose, the childhood friend from Lebanon who would become his wife of 46 years. Together, Fares and Maryrose pooled their restaurant tips and counted coins, saving their change to eventually buy their first small real estate holding - the twelve-unit apartment building on Ridgewood Avenue where they lived in Daytona Beach, renaming it in honor of their homeland's iconic Cedar. Soon after, they bought the house next door, and their family grew. For years, they slowly but steadily acquired or flipped residential and commercial properties. Fares also took great pride in gaining new skills and certifications that helped him run the business, such as air condition repair, plumbing, and eventually his Realtor licensure. Most recently, Fares and Maryrose became the owners of Tymber Creek Plaza in Ormond Beach. Fares was well known for his unrivaled work ethic, his warmth, kindness, sense of humor, loyal friendship, and tremendous generosity. He loved education and learning and was fluent in Arabic, French, and English. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time in his garden, planting herbs and fruit trees that reminded him of Lebanon. He was a wonderful father, husband, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Fares is preceded in death by his father Zeidan, sister Zeina, and mother Saide of Lebanon. He is survived by his wife Maryrose, his children Ziad, Zeina, Tami, and Tony of Ormond Beach, his sisters overseas - Leila, Karima, Boushra, and Yousra, his brother Hikmat of Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews living in the US, Canada, and Lebanon.
