"Her greatest love was the love she had for her family. " Lois R. Greene of White Lake, passed away April 22, 2023 at 90 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Karen (Mark) Mrsa, Katherine (Glen) Davis, Paula Robinson and the late Stephen Greene. Proud grandmother of Scott, Shannon, Jennifer, Sheryl, Christy, Rachel, Elizabeth, Katie, Phil, Michael, Lauren and the late Stephen. Treasured great-grandmother of Jordan, Aaron, Austin, Michael, Katie, Jackson, Charlotte, Cole, Xavier, Violet, Zeke, Alex, Bella, Theodore, James and Fallon. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Joy) Hansen. Sadly she is preceded in death by her 11 siblings. Lois was born in Staplehurst, Nebraska on September 10, 1932 to the Rev. Hans Peter Kristian and Dora (nee Nelson) Hansen. She was a retired science teacher and a Union Representative at Dossin Elementary School. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the local White Lake Book Club. She had a passion for music, loved the opera and sang in the choir for many years. In her spare time, she would volunteer at the Detroit Zoo where she served as a docent in the Butterfly Garden. Lois was a wiz at crossword puzzles, especially the New York Times and loved reading. In addition to her many interests, the most important of all was the love she had for her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be very much missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, 3501 E. Highland Road in Highland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road and Thursday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Lois will then be reunited with her beloved husband, Joseph at Milford Memorial Cemetery in Milford on Thursday afternoon. Memorial contributions suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Faith Lutheran Church or the Detroit Zoo in her memory.
