Brenda Faye Pike, 71, peacefully passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the family home where she grew up and lived her entire life.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty, N. C. , from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 18 at 2 p. m. at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 10068 Silk Hope Liberty Rd, Siler City, NC; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Brenda was a 1971 graduate of Southern Alamance High School and retired from The RubberMill in Liberty after nearly 20 years of dedicated service.
The youngest of nine Pike children, Brenda enjoyed being surrounded by her close, extended family. From holiday gatherings to birthdays and reunions, Brenda looked forward to the special occasions that brought the Pike clan together.
Some of Brenda's fondest memories were made on the many family trips to the beach or the mountains. And, she was always up for a good shopping trip and dining out with her sisters, as long as she didn't have to drive!
Brenda cared deeply for her 15 nieces, nephews and their children. She cherished celebrating their personal and professional accomplishments. Whether near or far, Brenda always wanted to know how the younger generations were doing and it was always a topic of conversation.
She was a lifelong member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church and treasured her church family. Brenda also held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dog, Duchess, and cat, Daisy.
Brenda was preceded in death by parents Kermit Pike Senior and Elsie Smith Pike; brothers Kermit Pike Junior (Jean), Jerry Pike (Mary Lee), and Marshall Pike; sisters Juanita Redding (Fred) and Shirley Murray; brother-in-law Ray Stout, and her companion, Harry Jefcoat. She is survived by her brother James (Carolyn), sisters Nina Stout and Barbara Kivett (Kenny), and brother-in-law Leachie Murray.
The family would like the thank the caregiving teams of Amedisys hospice care (Leigh Anne), and 4 Generations of Caring (Romana, Darlene, Heather, Connie, and Caitlyn) for supporting Brenda with exceptional in-home care. A heartfelt thanks to Tonya Brown, Brenda's niece, for the help, care, and love she gave to Brenda over the last several months.
