Johnny was born May 9, 1945, in Crowville, LA and passed from this life on November 3, 2023, at his home in Crowville, LA at the age of 78.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank, and Lucille Cox Ford; sister, Betty Jo Ford Pylant; sister-in-law, Barbara Ford; brothers-in-law, Gerald Pylant and Max Anthony; special uncle, Bobby Cox.
Johnny was a proud American and was honored to have served in the U. S. Airforce during the Vietnam Era, 1963-1967. He loved playing the guitar for family and friends and playing beside his nephew and grandsons.
Fishing became his true passion; he wanted nothing more in life than to fish through retirement. His preferred fishing partner was his wife Shirley and they fished together for over 40 years.
Johnny was a farmer and prided himself on farming the same acreage where he was born, and later left this world, (as he wished).
When his uncle B. D. introduced him to the job of being a crop insurance adjuster, it was a perfect fit, he could visit farmland all day, and especially other farmers. Crop Adjuster was a job he would keep until Parkinson's forced him to retire.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Williams Ford; children, Johnny Keith Ford and wife Laura, Pamela Hendrixson and husband Jerry Wayne, Mark Ford and April Ford; grandchildren, Sarah Ford, Joshua Hendrixson, Jessica Bryan, Chrissi Leach, Trey Leach, Dustin Ford, Kara Paige Ford, and William Ford Rockett; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gerald "Jerry" Ford, Annette Antony, Allen Ford and wife Wendy.
