Lisa Witzke Obituary

Age - 54
September 11, 2023
Onalaska, WI
| Lisa Kay Witzke (Schroeder) was an incredibly caring mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all. She left the world all too suddenly on September 8, 2023 at the age of 54 after a short, but hard fought, battle against cancer. She was born in La Crosse, WI on May 28, 1969. Lisa graduated from Logan High School and went on to attend Western Technical College to receive a degree in marketing. Not long after, she married Tom Witzke (D. 2012) in 1992 and they had two sons. Lisa spent many years working many different jobs, but being a mom was her favorite job of them all. Lisa will be remembered by her creativity and love. She could take any object and make it into a masterpiece. She loved sewing, glass etching, wood burning, and all things crafts. She especially loved making things for others. Both her persona and gifts were truly "one of a kind". Lisa spent most of her free time taking care of those she loved. She never missed your phone call no matter what time of the day (or night) it may have been and she never missed a chance to say "I love you". She was generous with not only her time, but also her love. She had a heart of gold and a sense of humor that made everyone around her crack a smile. Lisa will be lovingly remembered by her son Brandon Witzke (Nikki Witzke); son Alec Witzke; mother Tammy Selbo; sister Laurie Schroeder (Brent Hicke); brother Eric Schroeder; nephew Sam Naas; niece Nora Naas; great nephews Luther and Conrad Naas; boyfriend Pat McKeeth; father Douglas Schroeder (Deb Schroeder), sister Jonean Thorsen (Justin Thorsen); sister Corey Janksy Bucholz (Bryan Bucholz); and her many amazing aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Norma (Caya) White, her grandparents Rich and Elaine (Schultz) Schroeder, and her stepfather Luther Selbo. A private burial will be held for family and close friends. A visitation will be held to celebrate Lisa's life on Saturday, September 23rd from 11:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. at The Gathering Place 133 Mason St. , Onalaksa, WI 54650 (flowers can be sent to this address). Friends and family are invited to attend and share their fond memories of her. Lisa's memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. She was our sunshine.
