Linza Lou (Van Arsdale) Hamilton, 74, of Seymour, IN. , passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8th, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on March 10th, 1949. Linn was preceded in death by Ada and Robert Barton. Linn is survived by her son, Chris Van Arsdale; her granddaughter, Britiany Quick and her husband, Dylan Quick; and great grandsons; Jaxson and Jensyn Quick. Linn enjoyed being outside, doing yard work, and spending time with her family. Linn cherished the time she had with her great grandsons. She will be greatly missed and deeply loved, always!

James Anthony McCammon, age 35, of Seymour, IN, passed away in his home on November 28, 2023, at 5:27 AM. Born on May 18, 1988, in Seymour, IN, James was the beloved son of James L. (Rhonda) McCammon and Brenda (Tony) Beckett. He was engaged to Crystal Long, and together they shared a love that promised a future of happiness. James was a dedicated Forklift Operator at Falcon, where his hard work and commitment were truly commendable. In addition to his forklift duties, he also lent his skills to the fields of construction and landscaping. His strong work ethic and versatile abilities earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Known for his love of cooking, BBQ, and fishing, James found joy in sharing these passions with those around him. His mischievous spirit, big heart, and likable nature made him a cherished friend and family member. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and laughter. James is survived by his adoring fiancee, Crystal Long, and one child, Mya McCammon. He is also mourned by his father James L. (Rhonda) McCammon, mother Brenda (Tony) Beckett, sister Nicole Renee McCammon, brothers David (Lanette) McCammon, and Stacy (Marshall) Bowling, along with a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leonard & Marion McCammon. Pastor Don Cash will conduct funeral services on December 4, 2023, at 1:00 PM at First Marion Baptist Church, a graveside service will follow at First Marion Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on the same day, also at First Marion Baptist Church. Arlena "Lena" Minton, age 96, a resident of Nabb, Indiana, formerly of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was born on January 8, 1927, to Elvin Nolan and Alice (Gray) Nolan of London, Kentucky. On October 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Thurstle Minton and they were blessed with three children: Kenneth, Linda, and Donna. Lena was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Chapel for over seventy years, where she was a Sunday School teacher and secretary for a period of time. Lena worked at the Charlestown Power Plant during World War II and went on to work at the Shirt Factory in Seymour, Union Hardware Store in Seymour, and then owned and operated Rosstown Grocery for seven years with her husband. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking, and tending to her flowers in her yard. She loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life will be cherished by her children: Kenneth Minton (Susan) of Columbus, Indiana, Linda Hiler of Nabb, and Donna Rotert (Roger) of Courtland, Indiana; her brothers: Delbert Nolan, Tony Nolan (Macusha), and Troy Nolan (Sharon), all of Seymour; her grandchildren: Tina, Kendra, Nikki, Mary, Lora, Cindy, Scott, Angie, Dale, and Becky; 21 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 33 years, Thurstle Minton who passed away on May 13, 1978, her granddaughter, Peggy Abner, her great grandson, Preston Marksberry, and her siblings, Steve Nolan, Roberta McKinney, Mildred Sowder, and Nellie Barner. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Trinity Pentecostal Chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Trinity Pentecostal Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Larry Dalton and Pastor Ryan Bradley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery. Barbara Jo "Barb" (Fettig) Stout, age 63, a native of and resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 at her residence. She was born on July 23, 1960 to the late Thomas Fettig and the late Norma (Patrick) Fettig. She was a member of The Point Church and served on the Jackson County Superior Court as a drug and alcohol counselor for over 30 years. Barbara was a kind, loving, forgiving, gracious, patient and understanding lady that loved life and her family dearly. She enjoyed being a hostess to people and would often cook enough food to "feed an army". She loved her church and was a huge John Mellencamp fan. Barbara will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles "Hugo" E. Stout of Seymour, Indiana. Two son's, Tommy Stout of Seymour, Indiana and Danny Stout of Seymour, Indiana. Four grandchildren, Bryce Bense, Jacob Bense, Sydney Stout and Lela Stout, all of Seymour, Indiana. Former daughter in law, Blaine Stout of Seymour, Indiana. One brother, Rick Fettig of Nashville, Indiana and former sis in law, Alex Fettig of Nashville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charlie Fettig. Joseph "Joe" Keith Spencer, 61, of Seymour, IN, passed away at 9:42 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN, surrounded by his family. He was born on Saturday, September 30, 1961, at Clark Memorial Health in Jeffersonville, IN, and was the youngest out of 10 children. Joe dedicated over 20 years of his life to Aisin USA Mfg. , Inc. , and just retired on July 25, 2023. He was known for his strong work ethic, a true testament to his character as a dedicated and caring individual. Joe was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in watching old western tv shows and movies. He had an old soul and was often referred to as a "good ol' country boy". His generosity and kindness touched the lives of many. He attended Silver Creek High School, held steadfast to his Christian faith throughout his life and enjoyed worshipping with many different congregations. Joe is survived by his 2 sons, Joseph and Henry Spencer, and his siblings, Glenna White of Austin, IN, Mark (Joy) Spencer of Sellersburg, IN, Linda Swafford of Tipp City, OH, Kenneth (Debbie) Spencer of Sellersburg, IN, Donnie (Anna) Spencer of Sellersburg, IN, and Danny Spencer of TN, sister-in-law, Betty Spencer, and was cherished and loved by his nieces and nephews. Margaret "Peg" (Nicholas) Gasser, a dedicated homemaker and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023, at the age of 90, at her home in Seymour, Indiana. Born on April 28, 1933, in Scottsburg, Indiana, Peg's life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering commitment. Peg's journey began in the heart of Indiana, where she was raised by her parents, Hazel and Alice Nicholas. On her 18th birthday, April 29, 1951, Peg embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship when she married Merril Gasser. Their love story began when they met at the Slippery Spoon restaurant at the Corn Factory in Scottsburg. Together, they ventured into a life of farming, starting in Austin, Indiana, and eventually settling in Crothersville in 1960. Merril's passing on July 30, 1997, marked the end of a chapter in their enduring journey together. As a homemaker, Peg's role was not confined to the walls of her home; she took care of her family and her husband Merril, who was a farmer. Beyond her household responsibilities, Peg was an active member of the Kingdom Hall - Jehovah's Witness in Seymour, Indiana. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she wholeheartedly engaged in community outreach as a full-time evangelizer, dedicating an astounding 100 hours each month to her cause. Her commitment to spreading love, kindness, and understanding touched countless lives and left an enduring legacy. Peg's vibrant personality was reflected in her diverse interests. She found solace in her garden, tending to her cherished flowers. Her collection of teapots and clocks was a testament to her appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship. Her love for music led her to the piano, where her skilled fingers produced melodious tunes that graced the Kingdom Hall, where she also played in service of her faith. Described as a true friend, a compassionate listener, and an advocate of open doors for friends to visit, Peg's warm demeanor made her a beloved figure in the lives of many. She was always there to lend an ear, offer a comforting word, or simply share a cup of tea with a visitor. Her genuine care and approachability left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Peg's legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Mary Jo (Harold) Jones of Seymour, Indiana, and Carol (Terry) Silvers of Wedowee, Alabama. Additionally, she leaves behind three grandchildren: Daniel (Tracy) Taylor, Jo-Vonna Cuautle, and Patrick Taylor. Peg's love and guidance extended to her great-grandchildren, Jesse Cuautle and Ethan Taylor, who will always carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her five siblings: Howard "Jock" Nicholas, Harold Nicholas, Leon Nicholas, Sue Chilton, and Betty Caudill. Despite the challenges life presented, Peg's spirit remained strong, and she grew to be an embodiment of independence, faithfulness, and compassion. A private burial service will be held at Crothersville Cemetery, A public memorial service will be announced at a later date, offering friends and acquaintances the opportunity to honor and celebrate her life together.
