Raymond Berube

Raymond Berube

Age - 90

December 4, 2023

| | | Raymond Joseph Berube, known by all as "Raymo," passed peacefully in the early hours of November 26, 2023, surrounded by immediate family. Raymo was the first son born to Treffle J. Berube and Grace Anna (Lemay) Berube on October 7, 1933, in an area of Lebanon, NH that his parents referred to as Fox Hollow. He is survived by his wife Brenda (Talbott) of almost 50 years (New Years Eve 2023) and their sons/partners Robert, David, and Todd (Erika MacGillivary), grandson Dylan LaBrake (Isabelle Fernandes) and sisters-in-law Rebecca (Talbott) Pleasant and Lori (Talbott) Rodriguez (Arnoldo), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Raymo was predeceased by his parents Treffle and Grace Berube, older sisters Rita Thibault (Henry and son Alan) and Madeline Berube (FL), younger brothers Robert Berube (FL) and John Berube (NC). He was very close to his in-laws, David and Martha (Campbell) Talbott (FL), as well as his Aunt Jeannette Poirier and his Uncle Freddy Lemay of Lebanon. In addition, he was predeceased by treasured, longtime friends Bill Ackerman and Robert Jordan of Enfield and lifelong friends Stanley, Ruth, and Sam Moffitt of Lebanon. Raymo spent his first years in Lebanon, attending local schools before training as a meatcutter while working for Felix Lague of Lague's Market on Court Street. Raymo was soon inducted into the Army in 1953 serving as a Corporal stationed in Korea. Upon receiving an honorable discharge in 1957, he returned to Lebanon to work at Lague's Market. A short time later, he accepted a meatcutter position at Super Duper Markets, working in their Lebanon and Hanover stores but soon realized that his passion was to own his own meat and deli market, working directly with customers. In 1965 Raymo opened Lockehaven Country Store, next to his home on Crystal Lake in Enfield. Along with his wife and sons, he ran his Enfield store, later relocating his business to a new, larger property on Route 4 in West Canaan, situated across from the Mascoma Valley Regional High School. He truly enjoyed having that one-on-one contact with customers and took great pride in keeping costs down and providing excellent products (e. g. , Lockehaven's renowned deli subs, Western Beef, and homemade salads. ) The store was state and federally inspected/certified for cutting and processing Western beef and pork as well as native beef, hog, deer, bear, and moose. Raymo owned and operated his business for 46 years, selling the property and retiring in 2011. Raymo supported many local charities and school/community events including The Prouty with monetary or in-kind donations. Over these many years, Raymo was appreciative of his employees and was particularly thankful to Thomas Moffit, Deborah Macie, Tonya Prior Belisle, as well as Anne, Nicole, and Sandra Chow. He was honored to be long-term friends with them and with many of his customers. He also wished to remember close friends Paul and Gaby Currier, Kenny and Donna Brazas family, the Stanley/Ruth Moffitt family, as well as his Crystal Lake neighbors Robert/Muriel and Keith Nicholson, Ron McGonis, the Alan/Marilyn Fox family, the Don/Leafie Cantlin family, the Ginny Hartland family, the Charles/Dottie Rhoda and Plichta family, Barbara Alden/Sarah Jeror family, the McIlroy/Schubert/Hartung family, the Hank/Sally Cross family, and the Peter/Marie Moeschen family. Raymo was a charter member (#13) of the Lebanon Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed music and dancing with his wife at the Elks' Saturday night dances, sharing good times with friends. He was known for his every Monday chicken barbeques on Crystal Lake for his family, and friends who happen to stop by. In summer, he loved being at the lake whenever possible and loved doing "cannon ball jumps" off the raft. An avid baseball player when younger, after starting his own business with an 80+ hour work week he had little time to participate. However, when not working he was always ready for an impromptu game of horseshoes, basketball, or poker with his sons or friends. Ultimately, Raymo will be remembered as a warm, kind, and spiritual man who was appreciative of God's many blessings. He was also a loving and faithful husband, an excellent father to three sons, a role model to a grandson, and a loyal supporter of family, friends, his community, and country. He had great humor, a strong moral compass and work ethic, determination, and a positive outlook and zest for life that was absolutely contagious. We ask for privacy to process the loss of our beloved husband and father. Honoring Raymo's wishes, services will be private although a Celebration of Raymo's Life will be held later, and we will provide details in weeks to come. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, Dartmouth Cancer Center, or a charity of your choice. Marilyn Breselor

Marilyn Breselor

Age - 73

November 6, 2023

| | Marilyn (Zsazsa, Minu, Mo, Mary-Loon) Breselor died suddenly on October 27, 2023. She was born on July 28, 1950 to Irving and Shirley (Kosman) Breselor, and lived in the Bronx until the family moved upstate. She graduated from Colonie Central High School and Smith College before moving to the Upper Valley and raising her own children with husband Dan. Marilyn enjoyed a brief midlife detour to San Francisco but returned to New Hampshire to be a grandmother. Marilyn filled her life with the people, objects, and activities that brightened her days. She was a connoisseur of miniatures and novelty socks, a collector of cameras and commemorative presidential plates, and a diehard patron of the LISTEN Center. A skilled yet unaccomplished artist, she dabbled over the years in knitting and fiber arts, classical guitar, choral singing, and ceramics. She could and would harmonize with any melody, and was known for (almost) completing a queen-sized quilt made entirely of clothing labels, a truly obsessive masterpiece. She knew about birds, gardening, and cooking, though her expertise did not always manifest in visible or practical ways. She also loved word puzzles and games, reveling in the minutiae of vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. A gifted gift giver and good neighbor, Marilyn was always up for an adventure, from a fool's errand to Ocean State Job Lot to a hike up Kilimanjaro. She showed us how to live fully, taking care of others and herself along the way. We loved her so much. Marilyn is survived by her family: Abby Harrington (Michael), Peter Logan, Dan Logan, Frank Breselor (Judy), Suzanne Breselor Lowell (Neil), Sara Breselor (Carrie Morrison), Ellis, Lane, and Mae Harrington, and her beloved Pippa. Marilyn's family will invite all who loved her to join in a celebration of her life at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to Planned Parenthood and the LISTEN Center. In 1969, Rosalie moved to Randolph, VT with her three children as it reminded her of her home in Switzerland. There she worked for a local florist and Green Mountain Glove Factory. Eventually, she opened her own florist shop, The Rosebud, which served the surrounding towns for a number of years. She was a long-time active member of the Randolph Rotary. She was passionate about cooking for family and friends; Dave Foster in particular looked forward to those family dinners. She made dozens of traditional Swiss Christmas cookies every year to the delight of everyone who received them. She loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, and made beautiful quilts. Raymond Miller Jr

Raymond Miller Jr

Age - 85

October 24, 2023

| | | Raymond A. Miller Jr. , a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on October 22, 2023. He loved his high school sweetheart, Maryann, more than anything, but she would argue his RV was a close second. They spent ten years wintering in Arizona and their love for travel together took them on many cross-country adventures. From dogsledding in Alaska and riding mopeds in Hawaii to camping in the mountains of Wyoming, they visited almost every state! Growing up in Mendon, MA, he enjoyed showing his exhibition poultry at various fairs in New England. When they moved to New Hampshire, he purchased a sawmill and went on to continue logging for 20 years. He was passionate about providing for and unconditionally loving his family. Ray and Maryann raised their three girls to be strong, compassionate, and persistent (sometimes stubborn!). He was proud to watch his girls pass these values on to their children, and see his family cherish time together just as much as he did. Ray is survived by the love of his life whom he was married to for 64 years, Maryann Strobeck; their three daughters Debbie (Tom) Weiss of Rome, NY, Donna Tibbetts of Lebanon, NH, and Karen (Jerry) Seamans of Canaan, NH; five grandchildren Kristen Weiss, Tucker Tibbetts, Emily Seamans, Katie (Scott) DeFranco-Norton, and Kaitlyn (James) Peters; and two great grandchildren Leah and Emma. He is predeceased by his parents Viola B. Miller (Eisner) and Raymond A. Miller Sr. There will be no services. His loved ones will celebrate his life as he wished: spending time together as a family. Clarke Dustin

Clarke Dustin

Age - N/A

October 21, 2023

| | | Clarke Page Dustin passed away peacefully Saturday, October 14, 2023, two days after celebrating his 89th birthday with his family. He was a treasured parent and grandparent, and will be much missed and fondly remembered. The youngest child of True P. Dustin and Bertha (Clarke) Dustin, Clarke was born October 12, 1934 in Berlin, New Hampshire and spent his childhood there hunting and fly fishing, skiing and hiking in the White Mountains. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, he married the love of his life, Carol Whyte Dustin, and taught history at Gorham High School. A few years later, after completing his M. Ed, he joined the Guidance department at Hanover High School, and remained passionate about his work there until he retired in 1999. After retirement, Clarke continued to value community, playing golf with friends, serving the Town of Lebanon on the Conservation Commission and as a dedicated volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. Clarke's many interests and pursuits filled his life with joy and inspired his family. In the summers, through his early years in teaching, he worked to build ranger stations on Mt. Washington. He loved wood - and the woods. Over the years, he remained interested in building and restoration and developed his skills as a furniture maker and wood sculptor along the way; his childrens' homes are filled with beautiful and functional objects he created or restored. His curiosity led him to explore and master a wide variety of skills and arts, from chair caning to fly-tying to watercolor painting to furniture making, upholstering and restoration. He especially loved history, art and architecture and, after retirement, he and Carol explored museums and communities all over the U. S. . His children all grew up inspired by his example and passions and reflect these in their own pursuits. Clarke's family was both his foundation and a source of joy. He and Carol were married for 61 years and their time together and with their family was always their first priority. Clarke took great pride in the growth and development of his children and grandchildren and treasured time with each of them. Clarke was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carol, who passed away in 2018. His parents and his three siblings, Margaret Batchelder, Dorothea Nolette and Charles Dustin predeceased him, as well. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Sarah Whyte, of Sacramento, CA, and his four children, Lauren Dustin of Springfield, VT, Scott Dustin and his wife Sue Jackson of Lee, NH, Lisa Dustin and her husband John Hanson of Philadelphia, PA and Leslie Dustin and her husband Todd Thompson of Norwich, VT, and by his seven beloved grandchildren, Dustin Catignani of Brookfield, CT, Haley and Kelsey Dustin of Lee, NH, Hannah and True Hanson of Philadelphia, PA and Rosey and Gus Thompson of Norwich, VT. Clarke's family is deeply grateful for the kindness and care of the staff at The Village at White River Junction, where he lived from 2020 until the end of his life. A family remembrance will be held at a later date. Messages of condolence or remembrance will be gratefully received by Clarke's family and may be left at www. rickerfuneralhome. com.Show more
