"Linnette Patricia Clarke, age 59, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away on 3 September 2023, after a brief illness. Linnette was born on 3 October 1963 to parents Alfred Clarke and Gwendoline Andrews-Clarke in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. After Linnette graduated from North Ruimveldt Multilateral Secondary School in Guyana and immigrated to the United States, she enlisted in the U. S. Army, briefly served in the U. S. Navy and then joined the U. S. Air Force. She was stationed at Fort Lewis and McCord Air Force Base in Washington State. She served one tour of duty in South Korea and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in March 2012. While serving in the U. S Air Force Reserves, Linnette attended Saint Martin's College in Lacey, Washington, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education. After graduating, she started in the teaching profession in Olympia, Washington and simultaneously kickstarted her 15-year career in the medical staffing industry. Linnette subsequently earned a master's degree with an endorsement in Special Education and continued teaching at various Virginia and North Carolina elementary schools, before committing herself to her medical staffing company full-time. Linnette met her husband, Dennis Nuenke, in Olympia, Washington, in 1997. They were married in April 2002. Linnette and Dennis were blessed with two children; Jonathan Nuenke, currently in his junior year of studies at the University of North Carolina and Jada Nuenke, currently in her freshman year of studies at Wake Tech in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2019, Linnette dedicated herself full-time to her medical staffing company; Diamond Healthcare Group, Inc. , and served as its Chief Executive Officer until her death. Linnette's favorite pastime was baking with her daughter Jada, sewing and gardening. Linnette was predeceased by her father Alfred Clarke, mother Gwendoline Andrews-Clarke and brother Joseph Godfrey Andrews. She is survived by siblings Alfred Claymont Clarke, Dr. Carrell Clarke-Europe, Cheryl Clarke, Malcolm Clarke, Dr. Charles Clarke, Donna Clarke and many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members who love and will miss her dearly. Services for Linnette will be held at St. Michael, the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd. , Cary, NC 27513, Friday, 15 September 2023 at 11:00 a. m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Autism \u0026amp; Rehabilitation Foundation, a non-profit organization championing a cause near and dear to Linnette's heart; "removing barriers between special needs children and their ability to shine in the world. Ralph Douglas Campbell, age 77, of Cary, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. A visitation for Ralph will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Ralph Douglas Campbell, known to most as Doug, was born on November 24, 1946 in Anderson, IN to his parents Ralph and Thelma Campbell. He was the 2nd of 6 children and grew up in Evansville, IN. Doug served in the U. S. Air Force from 1965-1969 and then attended Indiana State University - Evansville where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1973. After graduation, he worked in several different fields until he finally settled at National Chemsearch Corporation where he had much success as a salesman and as a manager for 30 years. He was able to attain his ultimate goal of making the "Inner Circle", one of his proudest accomplishments. He loved his work with a passion like no other and loved to teach others how to be just as successful as him. He was truly a born salesman. Doug was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother and sister in law James (Jim) and Patty Coleman of Indiana, his sister Susie Meek of South Carolina, stepdaughter Kellie Hahn of North Carolina, and grandson Jarred Coleman of Michigan. Doug is survived by his wife Claudia Campbell, daughter Audra Campbell (Shan) of Dallas, TX, son Ralph "Cody" Campbell (Christina) of Raleigh, NC, stepson Ronnie Coleman (Kelly) of Michigan, brothers Greg Campbell (Gayle) and Tim Campbell (Chris), is sister Cindy Foreman (Jim) as well as 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved and adored him. Doug will be most remembered for his vibrant, big personality that lit up every room he walked into, his special way of never having met a stranger, his ability to see the silver lining in every bad situation, hard work and determination and his love for his wife and children. Doug passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 and will truly be missed by every person who's ever known him.Show more

Robert Rubush

Robert S. "Bob" Rubush, 75, passed away December 3, 2023 at WakeMed Cary Hospital after a brief and unexpected illness. He was born January 25, 1948 in Roanoke, VA, son of the late Robert M. Rubush Jr. and Margaret Tarter Rubush. He was educated in schools in Virginia, Michigan, and Ohio, and graduated from Ravenna High School (OH) in 1966. He was a graduate of Wittenberg University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1970. He was employed by Cooper Industries and its subsidiaries Lufkin and Campbell Chain for a career lasting more than 30 years, with roles in York, PA, and Apex, NC. Bob was an avid traveler who enjoyed visiting historic sites in his native Virginia and elsewhere along the Eastern Seaboard, exploring national parks in the Western States, and spending time at a family beach cottage in Chincoteague, VA. Bob was an active member of Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church in Cary, NC, for nearly 37 years. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Rubush, of Cary, NC; sons Scott Rubush (Elizabeth) of Downingtown, PA, and Matthew Rubush (Michelle) of Cary, NC; daughter Katherine "Katie" Welsh (Robert) of Asheville, NC; sister Sarah Rubush of Roanoke, VA; brother- and sister-in-law Matthew (Rita) Rutherford of Wilmington, DE and Donna Rutherford (Arthur Rutherford III, d. 2014) of Austin, TX, and a very special aunt Katherine Tarter of Roanoke, VA. Nephews Arthur Rutherford IV (Diana) of Austin, TX, and Matthew Rutherford, Jr (Erin), of Jackson, MS, also survive. Above all, he is also survived by two young grandchildren, Paul and Norah Rubush of Downingtown, PA, who were the light of his life. A memorial service will be held at Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church in Cary at 11:00am on Monday, December 11, 2023, with Rev. Dr. Steve Schaick officiating. Frank A. Farrell, age 80, of Cary, NC passed away on Dec. 1, 2023. He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Robert and Joan Farrell. Frank is a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and LaSalle College in Philadelphia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After retiring from IBM, he was devoted to volunteering in his community. He completed many volunteer hours of service assisting migrant families, Wake Crisis Center, Battered Women's Shelter, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, NC Highway Patrol, and Citizens Assisting the Cary Police. He was a Eucharistic minister and sang in the church choir for many years at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida as well as in the choir at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC. Frank loved his country and was a US Army veteran. Frank enjoyed playing and singing folk music on his guitar and banjo, being outside in nature, and sharing humorous stories with friends and families. Frank was a devoted husband to Rozanne Farrell, father to Jenni Farrell and Patti (Farrell) Columbe and grandfather to Jack, Finn, and Madelyn Raabe. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert and Joan Farrell, his brother-in-law Walter J. Boyle, Anne T. Boyle, wife of his brother-in-law Frank Boyle, and his niece Joanne Clemens. He is survived by his wife, Rozanne Farrell, daughters Jenni Farrell and Patti Columbe (David) his grandchildren, brother-in-law Francis Boyle, sister-in-law Cathy Boyle, his brothers Ben Farrell and Bernard Farrell, and his sister Varena Kessell as well as his nieces and nephews and their children and his cousins in West Virginia. Charles Williams

Charles Wesley Williams (Wes) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 25, 2023 after a valiant battle with ALS. Wes, a Cary native, was born to Charles and Elizabeth Williams on December 19, 1957. A 1976 graduate of Cary High School, he went on to receive degrees in Business and Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. He began his career in the IT industry with IBM in 1982 and worked in that field until his retirement from Lenovo in October, 2017. Wes loved life. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed hiking, long walks on his beloved Sunset Beach, kayaking with his buddies and enjoying time with friends at Bond Brothers. He loved Durham Bulls games and concerts with friends and was a lifelong NC State fan who enjoyed many years of Wolfpack football and basketball. He loved traveling and enjoyed wonderful trips over the years with family. Above all, Wes was a family man, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and a loyal friend. He was a person of faith who sought to live by the Christian principles that he held dear. Wes was pre-deceased by his parents and his sister Sara Williams Saunders. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years Jennifer, daughters Megan Williams of Cary and her husband Jake Sklarew, Morgan Williams of Atlanta and her husband Matt Tidmore, granddaughter Nora Sklarew of Cary, brother Scott Williams and wife Lori of West Helena, Arkansas, sister Mary Williams-Kotnik of Cary and her husband Andrew Kotnik, nephews Steven Kotnik of Raleigh, Kenneth Saunders of Baltimore, Hayden Saunders of San Francisco and Joey Williams of Arkansas, sister-in-law Lisa Blackmon and husband Mark Layne of Atlanta. A special thank you to Jennifer Ferguson, Wes' devoted caregiver, who provided kind and compassionate care to him and the family during his illness and to his lifelong friends Greg Allgood and Mike Wade for their unwavering support and friendship. Janet B. Leavel Janet Bryan Leavel of Cary, North Carolina passed away at 82 years of age on November 27th at her home. Janet is survived by her son, Robert Leavel, daughter-in-law, Paige Leavel, and a granddaughter, Kristen Leavel, all of Holly Springs, North Carolina. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings as well as her husband of fifty-seven years in 2018. Janet and Jack were married at age eighteen and were the true definition of love and commitment. Janet will now be where she has always wanted to be right beside Jack, and they will both be able to rest easy and at peace. Paul Hutson

Age - 28

Paul Edward Hutson was born on December 28, 1994, the youngest in a family of three boys. Along with his brothers, he was homeschooled through middle school, and attended Saint Thomas More Academy in Raleigh for high school, graduating in 2013. Shortly after graduation, he was diagnosed with a form of epilepsy. Paul cheerfully carried the weight of living with these seizures for the past ten years. He attended East Carolina University from 2013 until 2018, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Paul held a summer internship with Accident Research Specialists in Cary, NC. After this internship he began working with one of the engineers on a significant and long-running project to develop and test a safer design for vehicular underride prevention on tractor trailers; this work continued during his free time until the present day. He was deeply honored to be involved with, and to contribute to, this project. Upon graduating from East Carolina, Paul was hired by the United States Navy as a civilian engineer and began working as a structural engineer for FRC East at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, in Havelock, NC. While working at Cherry Point, Paul obtained his Master of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from NC State University, graduating with honors in 2020. In 2021 Paul left FRC East and took a job with Tracker Engineering in support of Northrop Grumman at their Ogden, Utah facilities. Paul made his home in Tremonton, Utah, and his daily commute to work offered beautiful, scenic landscapes which he enjoyed capturing and sharing with his family. For some reason he was often captivated by some natural scene; we have hundreds of pictures from Paul. In 2022, Paul was hired by Northrop Grumman as a principal engineer where he worked until his death from a seizure on November 26th, 2023. While working for Northrop Grumman, he entered and completed a post-graduate program in Engineering Management at Johns Hopkins University, which he would have finished this week with the final presentation in Baltimore. From early in his life, he was destined to be an engineer. As a toddler he demonstrated a habitual desire to understand how things worked. He would count the steps as he walked upstairs. He liked to take many things apart, study the pieces, learn how the parts worked together, and then put them back together. At age six, he built a Tupperware trap to catch a squirrel (peanut butter was involved, of course), and he surprised his mother with this 'captive' when she stepped out of the shower; the trap had worked perfectly, and he kept the squirrel as a pet for a day. He was, not surprisingly, interested in mechanics and electronics early on, and he became the family's personal IT guy, and would handily solve any technological issue we faced. Often, when helping his dad on a house project, Paul would save his dad from aggravation or mishaps with his ability "to see the whole" minutes ahead of his dad. His closet in our home remains full of 'Paul's Projects. ' Paul had a knack for helping and teaching others. He had an easy, natural way, and the ability to teach in the way that suited each person best. At ECU he had a job as a teacher's assistant. Paul was a generous and thoughtful gift-giver. He would find unique gifts on his adventures that suited each recipient well. No gift was ever cliche or generic; for instance, he would find something that was a part of one's hobby and which could be put to good use. The last person Paul would talk about was himself; he always put the focus of the conversation on whomever he was talking with, and made them feel like the most important person in the room. He wanted to learn everything about anything, no matter what the subject. Honest, loyal, and doggedly hardworking in both his work and friendships, he habitually lived a life of self-gift. He made friends easily and kept his friendships active. He enjoyed working out, pushing himself to new personal weightlifting records. Paul met many of his closest friends through the gym, bonding over their shared passion for fitness. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Joanne, brothers Jim and Jack, sister-in-law Megan, nephew Luke, Grandparents Jim and Anne Rouse. The love of his life was Jean Zsadanyi, who lives in Wilmington. He enjoyed getting to know and spending time with Jean's family. Paul and Jean shared many wonderful adventures together and seemed a natural fit for each other. A love cut short. A funeral Mass to give thanks to God for Paul's life will be held on Monday, December 4, at 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cary, NC. There will be visitation hours the evening before, Sunday, December 3, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, NC.
