Mrs. Linda June Patterson Williams, age 83, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loving family members on September 8, 2023. She was born April 16, 1940 in Waco, GA to the late Earl and Elsie Patterson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Gregg Williams, and brother, Loyce Patterson. Linda worked at Hubbard's briefly and then went on to teach in the Haralson County School System. She taught for 23 years before retiring. She was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church and will be missed greatly by the Bethany community. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Joe Williams, of Tallapoosa; son, Eric Williams, of Carrollton; daughter in law and her husband, Janet and Larry Haldeman, of Waco; grandchildren, Tyler and Olivia Williams, of Woodstock, Ashlee and Beau Burgess, of Carrollton, Julia and Dr. Cole Godwin, of Temple, Aidan Williams, of Carrollton, and Phillip Haldeman, of Waco; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Kate Godwin, great-grandson on the way; and sister in law, Ruby Patterson. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM EST from Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Ayers and Dr. Mason Bush officiating. Tyler Williams will give a eulogy. Music will be provided by Jackie Jones, Jennifer Johnson, Joel and Brenda Agan, and Terry Youngblood. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Williams, Beau Burgess, Dr. Cole Godwin, Phillip Haldeman, Gary Patterson, Aidan Williams, and Vernon Patterson. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM EST at Miller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mildred Inez Rainey Robinson, age 88, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away in her home surrounded by her family November 28, 2023. She was born November 8, 1935 in Bremen, GA to the late Hershel Rainey and Pearl Eidson Rainey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Carroll Robinson; daughter, Debbie Smith; son, Danny Robinson; granddaughter, Hannah Payne; grandson, Stacey Smith; sisters and brothers in law, Wilma Robinson, Linda Sue Rainey, Pauline and Walter Robinson, Agnes and Jack Thompson, and Edna and Leroy Corbilt; and brothers and sister in law, James Rainey, Roy Rainey, and Billy Joe and Elaine Rainey. Mildred was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Church for over 30 years. She sang in the choir and served the church along with her loving husband. She loved the Lord and her family and church family. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Denise and Robert Payne, of Tallapoosa, Deanna and Dave Southworth, of Muscadine, AL; and Donna and Mickey Eaves, of Tallapoosa; son and daughter in law, Darren and Trenna Robinson, of Tallapoosa; son in law, Sam Jiles, of Muscadine; daughter in law, Rita Robinson, of Tallapoosa; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Pastor Jamey Alexander and Bro. Jimmy Thrower officiating. Eulogies will be given by Jessica Thompson, Jerrica Eaves, Jenna Vines, and Stephanie Mabry. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Chad New, Austin New, Greg Payne, Dan Robinson, Dar Robinson, and Michael Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Ivey, Triston Mason, Waylon Mabry, Cameron Mabry, Blane Robinson, Ace Robinson, Chase Payne, Landon Payne, Tyler Southworth, and Taylor Southworth. Mrs. Ophelia Faye Posey Jackson, age 70, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away November 18, 2023. She was born January 24, 1953, in Tallapoosa to the late Harvey and Grace Fay Williamson Posey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Douglas Jackson and her sister, Phyllis Hightower. Mrs. Jackson worked for thirteen years at Sewell Manufacturing as a seamstress and for many years as a quality inspector in the paint department for Honda Lock. Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Cole Blackmon, age 78, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away November 10, 2023. She was born June 4, 1945 in Tallapoosa to the late Ralph Cole and Bessie Smith Cole. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, W. Harold Blackmon and siblings, Betina Garner, Peggy Rodgers, Jerry Cole, and Kenneth Cole. Mrs. Blackmon retired from Stoffel Seals in 2008 after over 30 years. She was a 1963 graduate of West Haralson High School where she played on the 1961 State Champion girls basketball team. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and all things Christmas. For many years she opened her house between Thanksgiving and Christmas for the community to visit, have a cup of cider and enjoy her Christmas-themed decorations inside and out. She was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church where she also played piano and sang with the church choir. She is survived by her children, Rich and Betina Marr and Jason and Christine Blackmon; grandchildren, Colton and Brittany Blackmon, John and Morgan Moran, Mackenzie Marr, Schuyler Marr, and Jonathan McCoy; great granddaughters, Lily Moran and Alex Moran; and sister, Wanda and Owen Davidson. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 3:00PM at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Pixler and Rev. Randy Robinson officiating. Music will be provided by Jake Pitts. Mrs. Bethany Kristen "Krissy" Lee Farmer, age 45, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away November 5, 2023. She was born August 17, 1978 in Carrollton, GA. Krissy lived her young life in East Alabama and West Georgia. She met the love of her life, Chris, in 2009. Together they decided to travel and work out of state, giving her the opportunity to experience life outside of the small town she grew up in. They enjoyed their journeys together, to New Orleans, Augusta and most recently to North Carolina. She loved all her family, especially her daughter, Montana and stepdaughter, Brooklyn, who she lovingly called "one of her best friends". She was joyfully, "Trixie" to Brooklyn's three sons, loving them greater than she ever imagined possible. She is survived by her loving husband, Chris Farmer, of Tallapoosa; parents, Terry and Deborah Ann Lee, of Heflin, AL; daughters and son in law, Montana Thompson, of Heflin, and Brooklyn and Jordan Porter, of Piedmont, AL; grandsons, Clayton Bryant, and Canaan and Nixon Porter; sister, Miranda Lee, of Heflin; aunt and uncle, Becky and Jimmy Davis, of Buchanan; and cousins, Jesse and Jennifer Baggett, of Tallapoosa. Mr. John Martin Brooks, age 81, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away November 5, 2023. He was born March 15, 1942 in Buchanan, GA to the late Charles L. Brooks and Clora White Brooks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jo Roberts and Edith Lee; brother, Charles Brooks; sister in law, Shirley Elliott; and brother in law, Wayne Daniel. John was the epitome of a hardworking husband and father, who's number one priority was to take care of and provide for his family. He could fix anything in their home and taught his children to do the same. He had a servant's heart and would do anything he could to help anyone he met that needed it. John had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He loved to sing and play music with his family and do karaoke with his and Kay's friends. John was a loving, simple man, who would go without to make sure his family had everything they needed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Kay Daniel Brooks, of Tallapoosa; sons and daughters in law, David and Melanie Brooks, of Carrollton, GA and Jeff and Jodi Brooks, of Villa Rica, GA; daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Todd Crook, of Bremen, GA; grandchildren, Katey Gordon (Zach), Hannah Kay Brooks, Madison Brooks, Morgan Brooks, Hope Wilson (Malone), Cason Bentley, Griffin Crook, Denver Crook, and Molly Ann Crook; great grandson, Deacon Bentley; and sisters and brother in law, Sherry Ward, of Tallapoosa, Pat Saxon, of Bremen, Sandra and Doug Radke, of Tallapoosa, and Joyce Walling, of Muscadine, AL. Fred Chester Huffman, age 78, recently of Tallapoosa, Georgia, went to be with his wonderful Lord and Savior on October 14, 2023. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 4, 1945 to the late Howard and Elizabeth Arwood Huffman. He leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Donna Huffman; daughter and son-in-law Kim (Byron) Tucker of Locust Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby (Leanna) Mehan of Bremen; grandchildren, Brittany (Daniel) Anderson, Avery Mehan, Madelyn Mehan, Molly Mills Mehan; great-grandchildren, Jace Huffman and Lily Anderson; brothers-in-law, Jonathan Schoffstall and Tim Schoffstall; loving nieces, Donna (Charles) Perry, Tammy Huffman; and nephew Chris Shurley; and many more nieces and nephews; his beloved fur babies; extended family Chuck (Barbara) Camp, Kenny (Charleene) Boles; and many cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Swafford, Marion Horn, Shirley Ashcraft; and brothers Howard H. Huffman and Donald J. Huffman. Fred grew up in Atlanta and graduated from West Fulton High School. Most of his career was with the Atlanta Police Department. Retiring after 50 years of service, he also worked for Bank South as Security Director for many years and finally spent 18 years at Coca-Cola providing police services. Fred "C" was a leader and a mentor to so many. His mission in life was to serve, guide others to know God and to help people handle the challenges of life. He loved working in God's Garden, dressing out cars and motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren. Fred supported all things Atlanta from the Falcons, Braves, Bulldogs, and Coca-Cola. His love for these grew from being a true native of Atlanta. He was such an inspiration to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
