Linda Ann Keller West passed away in her sleep on September 6, 2023. She was born May 7, 1939. She graduated from Everett High School and LSU Banking School. Linda was active in many community functions. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anna French Keller; brother, Warren Keller. Survivors include her husband, Jerry West; daughters, Kimberly Addonizio, Dana Reynolds, Julie Moore, Dana McNutt; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. At her request there will be no service, only a private burial.

Carl Melvin Franklin age 84 went to see his savior, Jesus, Thursday, November 30, 2023. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after suffering from declining health. He was a resident of Maryville, TN and a member of First Apostolic Church of Maryville. He was born May 18, 1939, in Sondheimer, Louisiana. Preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Gaston Franklin, brothers Doug Richey (wife Grace), Dearl Richey (wife Nita), Mack Franklin, and Paul Franklin; sister Alice Montfort (husband Bob), brothers in law T. L. Patterson and Buddy Livingston. Survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Gloria Franklin; brother: Russell Franklin (wife Clara), sisters in law, Sharon Franklin, Ruby Franklin, Doris Patterson, brothers in law, James Livingston and Mack Livingston, three children: Dwayne Franklin (wife Pamela), Kaye Hannah (husband Wally), Jeanna Penton (husband Ben); ten grandchildren: Miles Holley, Landon Franklin (wife Morgan), Aaron Penton (wife Celia), Cameron Franklin, Austin Penton (wife Courtney), McKenzie Barr (husband Nicholas), Andrew Hannah (wife Davanah), Katelyn Hannah, Bentley Hannah, and Brantley Hannah; seven great grandchildren: Hayes Franklin, Hendrix Franklin, Millie Holley, Mary Holley, Baylor Penton, Burklee Penton, Barrett Penton, Lexi Penton, and numerous nieces and nephews. His bigger-than-life personality, generous spirit and love for children and animals touched many lives. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. He loved Bluegrass music and could play any instrument with strings. He was a creative man of many talents and abilities. Honorary Pallbearers: Jonny Hines, John Hernandez, Arthur Parrot, Stan Jeter, Jerry Poole, Jackie Wilburn, and J. W. Massey. James (Jim) Robert Bowser passed away at the age of 82 in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, on November 27, 2023. Jim was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on January 24, 1941. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Bowser and Mildred L. Sladiski Bowser. Jim is survived by his wife, Lucy Walker Bowser, whom he married on February 18, 1984, his sisters, Joan Faybik, Dorothy Lingenfelter and Shirley Allen, aunt Mildred Schorr and cousin Leanna (Richard) Ryba. He is also survived by his children, Brian (Rose) Howard, Lara (Alan) Stagg and Danny (Paula) Howard. He was known as "Pap" by his grandchildren, Nichole (Ben) Morton, Ariel (Brian) Robbins, Trey Howard, Dylan (Hanna) Krueger, Faith Krueger, Mary Evelyn (David) Procopio, Meredith Howard and Micah Howard. Jim had four great-grandchildren, Lucas, Gunner, Carson, and Oliver, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his fifth great-grandchild, expected in late December 2023. His family had also recently expanded by the addition of 5 foster great-grandchildren, Tyler, Daniel, River, Carson, and Gabe. Along with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jim is also survived by Pumpkin, his orange tabby cat. Jim was Pumpkin's favorite person, and she would look for him and wait outside his door until he came to pet her. Jim graduated from New Kensington High School in May 1958. While Jim was born in Pennsylvania, he was a resident of Maryville, Tennessee, for 44 years. He worked at Alcoa for more than 30 years, earning many awards and securing several patents for his accomplishments. One of his best-known inventions is the Bowser Bar, which was utilized in Alcoa's Can Reclamation operation for many years. Jim also served in the Army for six years. Jim was a devoted Christian and a member of Victory Baptist at Pistol Creek. He spent quiet time in his Bible every evening and participated with the Gideons since 2006, serving as the organization's Blount South president for a period. Jim was an avid Steelers fan and had a whole room devoted to the team's memorabilia. He loved collecting coins, especially pennies, and had an eagle eye for what made something special. He was known for his jokes at the dinner table and could often be found afterwards watching the game and enjoying some ice cream. Jim was a golfer his entire life, always making sure to get his practice in even while traveling. He hit many holes in one and won several tournaments. He used to hit buckets of balls out in the country and would pay his grandchildren in dimes for finding them. Receiving friends will be held at Victory Baptist at Pistol Creek in Maryville, TN on Wednesday, December 6th from 5:00 to 7:00pm with services to follow. Sunday, November 26, Cona Faye Wallace joined her eternal father in heaven. To her family and friends, she was known as Connie. To her world, she was known as mom, mamaw, and baby. Connie was married to her husband, Gene for 58 wonderful years, together they raised three children. Connie was a Godly and family-loving woman who instilled the same values in all her children and grandkids. Connie was a member of Lafollette Church of God, where she was active in many functions of the church. Connie enjoyed riding horses, working in the garden, and shopping with her girls. She was able to live out the dreams of her mother and sister by opening and running Mom and Pop's Cafe in Friendsville. Connie is survived by her husband, Gene, Son, Mark, wife Donna, Daughters, Kim, husband Shane, and daughter, Tonya, husband Michael. Grandkids, Erika, Justin, Taylor, Jacob, Hailey, Nate and Mattie, Great-grandkids Jackson, Charlotte, and Amelia. Her only living brother, Jerry, and wife Judy. Many nieces and nephews, she treated as her own. Connie was greeted at heaven's gate by her parents, sister, and brothers. While Connie will be missed by all, the family has comfort knowing she is rejoicing and celebrating her newfound life with no more pain in heaven. James M. Rushing, 81, of Maryville, TN died on Nov. 25, 2023 at Maryville, TN. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Katie Ann Rushing of Maryville, TN, son, James Timothy Rushing (Fran) of Dyer, IN, daughters Laura A Rushing of Alcoa, TN and Amy Beth Corbett (Stuart) of Huntersville, NC and grandchildren Alex Corbett and Grant Corbett of Huntersville, NC and Ray Rushing of Dyer, IN. He was preceded in death by parents Jack and Meta Rushing of Parsons, TN and sister, Sara Fowler of Richardson, TX. He held a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a Masters of Manufacturing Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. He co-oped with Alcoa, Inc. while going through undergraduate school and went to work for them after graduation in 1966 serving at Tennessee Operations, Lafayette Works, Massena Operations, Warrick Operations, Pittsburgh Office and Knoxville Office before retiring in 2003 with almost 39 years of service. He served as an Industrial Advisor to the Web Handling Research Center at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK serving as chairman for two years. In earlier years, he served with the Boy Scouts of America as Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster and on the District and Council Staffs in several locations. He completed Wood Badge Training in the early 1970’s. He was a Life Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He joined the Civil Air Patrol after returning to Tennessee and served as Squadron Commander, Group Commander, Assistant Wing Commander and Commander of Tennessee Wing, Assistant Region Commander and Region Commander of Southeast Region, FEMA Liaison and Assistant Program Manager of Operations Training on the National Staff. He was an active communicator during his later years. He chose cremation and his urn with the ashes will be interred at the Grandview Cemetery Columbarium in Maryville, TN.Show more

Margie Lee Campbell, born December 5, 1950, died on November 27, 2023, in her home surrounded by her husband and children, after an 8-year battle with cancer. Margie was born in Tellico, TN, raised in Maryville, and went to Porter High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Margie gave her life to the Lord when she was 12 years old. Margie was a senior instructor for 8 years, taught cosmetology for 11 years, and was the educational director for 3 years at the Tennessee School of Beauty. She was also the owner and operator of Margie’s Place for 21 years where she loved all of her customers dearly. Margie is preceded in death by her father Verlin "Jack" Duckett; mother Beverly (Spurling) Duckett; sisters Shirley Lowe, Ona Craig, and Debbie Ingram; granddaughter Emily (Martin) Huber; as well as father- and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Vondell Campbell. Margie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ron Campbell; children Rhonda Boling (Brian), Robin Loope (Travis), Donnie Campbell (Shannon), and Ronnie Campbell; grandchildren Tommy Campbell (Megan), Mackenzie Richards (Josh), Austin Martin (Amber), Shane Campbell (Shelby), Alley Loope, Madison Campbell, Laurel Campbell, Rylee Campbell, Jason Campbell, Jadasia Campbell, and Cody Huber; great-grandchildren Kyson, Bryson and Oakley Campbell, Micah, Abby and Jamie Richards, Rhett Huber, Grey Long, Everett Campbell, Silas and Elias Nix; very special sister Stacy Duckett Reese; and brother Danny Duckett. Margie wanted to say a special thank you to the whole Campbell family for their love and support for all of these years. And special thanks to Judy and Traci McCaulley. Marjorie Alice Carroll, age 88 of Maryville, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at Shannondale of Maryville. She was born May 18, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. Marge was devoted to her husband and family. Those who knew her describe her as honest, forthright, kind, creative, an excellent chef and gardener, fiercely independent, and a fun woman with a wry sense of humor. Her hobbies include visiting shut-ins for her church, delivering Meals on Wheels, teaching non-English speakers to read, and educating newly diagnosed celiac sprue patients on ways to manage their condition. She loved reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling with her husband, Bob. She graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA. She attended 10th Avenue Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA and New Providence Presbyterian in Maryville, TN. Preceded in death by: husband, Robert D. Carroll; mother, Clara A. Logan; father, Russell A. Logan, Sr. ; stepbrothers, Russell A. Logan, Jr. and Donald Logan.
