William Robert Barlow, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 12:00 p. m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born May 13, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of John P. and Mildred (Gibbeons) Barlow. William was a 1966 graduate of Coldwater High School in Coldwater, Kansas. He attended Hayes University in Hayes, Kansas and Drafting School in Wichita, Kansas. He worked in commercial construction for The Law Company in Wichita, Kansas. William enjoyed fishing, gardening, and taking cruises and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. On February 18, 1978, he married Sharon Kay Pierce, in Augusta, Kansas. William is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon; one son, Chad Barlow, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one cousin, Pamela Lillie, of Corning, Iowa; his mother-in-law, June Winger; his brother-in-law, Ron Pierce and his wife, Dana and his sister-in-law, Jackie Pierce, all of Augusta, Kansas and several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, John, and Mildred; father-in-law, Carl Pierce and two brothers-in-law, Edward, and Roger Pierce. A memorial service under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, will be held at 11:30 a. m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon. Burial will be held at a later date at the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Mt.
