Linda Scutt Obituary

Schoharie (Schoharie County): Linda M. Scutt, 73, formerly of Lorraine Drive, Schoharie, NY passed away Sunday April 9th at the Ellis Hospital Residential Rehabilitation Center where she had resided for the past 2 years. Linda was born January 24, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Robert and Nona (Waldorf) Desmet. She graduated from Imlay City High School in Michigan. She later married Dean Scutt on May 23, 1994 and settled in the Schoharie Valley. She enjoyed being the "neighborhood grandma" to all the kids in the park and was known as the 'bingo queen'. She also spent her time crocheting and doing crafts. She was predeceased by her husband, Dean on July 8, 2017. Survivors include: her children; Randy (Aimee) Rathka of Middleburgh, Amy (Robert) Bartow of Schoharie and Angela (Albert) Mastando of Charlotteville, her 10 grandchildren; Ashley, Joseph, Charlie, Nicole, Zachary, Matthew, Abigail, Jacob, Madison and Anthony, her brother; Douglas Desmet of Imlay City, MI, her sisters; Julie Hall and Kathie Suddarth both of Imlay City, MI along with several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Thursday, April 13th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street Schoharie followed by a funeral service at 11AM. Burial will follow in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda to Marathon For A Better Live, PO Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187 in remembrance of all the help they have done for other family members throughout the years. The family would like to recognize and thank all those at Ellis Residential Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and care given to Linda for the past two years.
