Linda Hite Sachs, 82, of Fishersville, passed away on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 at Augusta Health Shenandoah House in Fishersville. Linda was born in Staunton, VA to Anne Lillian Hite and Sylvester Norman Hite on May 29th, 1941. She worked as a teacher across Virginia for around 10 years and then as a genealogist for many years after. She was a member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge, as well as the Daughters of the Confederacy and was very interested in the history of those around her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, "Norman" and Anne. Linda is survived by her daughters; Susan Sachs of North Carolina, Julie Clark of Stuarts Draft, and a son; Robbie P. Sachs of Fishersville. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kasey Costanzo and husband Mike, Tiffany Clark, Hunter Clark; as well as her great-grandson, Anthony Costanzo. In addition, Linda is survived by her ex-husband; Robert J Sachs, her special friend; Billy Armstrong and her sister; Nancy Martin-Sinks of Harrisonburg. Linda will be laid to rest at the Fishersville United Methodist Church Cemetery, where she was a long time member. All services will be private. Linda loved her kitties. Dee Lynn Terrell, 71, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Augusta Health, Fishersville, surrounded by family. He was born August 23, 1952 in Waynesboro, son of the late Herbert Edwin "Curley" Terrell, Jr. and Bertha Mae Weaver Terrell. He was a 1972 graduate of Stuarts Draft High School and had completed one year of college. Dee was retired as a Correction Officer with the Virginia Department of Corrections. An avid bear hunter, he as well, enjoyed deer hunting fishing and sitting at the barn visiting with family and friends. The family sends special appreciation to the staff at Augusta Health. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dickie Stewart. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Pamela Coyner Terrell; his daughters, Whitney Montgomery (Troy Coffey) of Waynesboro, Virginia, Lindsay Adams of Panama City, Florida and Karie Weeks (Wayne) of Waynesboro, Virginia; his son, Aric Terrell (Victoria) of Waynesboro, Virginia; his step-daughter, Morgan Alexander (Tad) of Fishersville, Virginia; his grandchildren, Austin (Desantee), Madison Montgomery, Lacey Adams, Mason and Jaxon Terrell, Caleb and Allie Weeks, Jaden, Gage, Avery and Rome Alexander and Wyatt Coffey and great-grandchildren, Jaydee Paige and Parker Doodle; his brothers, Herbert E. Terrell III (Barbara) of Waynesboro, Virginia and Dennis James "Jimmy" Terrell of Stuarts Draft; his sister, Teresa T. Ruthie Alma (Fitzgerald) Dedrick, 85, wife of Freddie Harold Dedrick, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. Mrs. Dedrick was born in White Rock, Virginia on July 15, 1938, a daughter of the late Ottis Owen Fitzgerald and Eula Beatrice (Coffey) Fitzgerald. Ruthie was a 1955 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, a member of Mountain Top Christian Church, and retired as a bookkeeper from Dedrick Construction and Excavating. She enjoyed canning, cooking, making sweet tea, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dedrick was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lee Fitzgerald and four sisters, Madeline Rhodes, Florine Painter, Edith Stinnett, and Dottie Brown. Surviving, in addition to her husband of sixty-five years, are two daughters, Donna D. Yeago and her husband, John and Pamela K. Varney and her husband, Keith both of Stuarts Draft; a sister, Libby Dameron of Crimora; six grandchildren, Jacob, Marcus, Taylor and Adriana Yeago, Daniel Holloway, and LeAnna Varney; nine great-grandchildren, Oaklyn, Jaxton, Sawyer, Olivia, Kinsley, Silas, Tye, Addison and Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at their residence (41 Shirley Lane, Stuarts Draft, Virginia). A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Mountain Top Christian Church in Tyro, Virginia by Pastor Doug Henderson. Doris Juanita (Pepper) Limerick, 92, widow of Enever Eugene "Sonny" Limerick, formerly of Mt. Sidney and Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville. Mrs. Limerick was born in Hopewell, Virginia on October 5, 1931, a daughter of the late John E. Pepper, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth (Lewis) Pepper. Doris was a retired Civilian from the U. S. Marine Corp. She was a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church and locally attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Fredericksburg Elks Lodge #875 Ladies Auxiliary and the Rebekah Victory Lodge #12. She was a devoted Redskins fan since the early 60's. Through her love of travel, Doris enjoyed sailing with her husband through the Chesapeake Bay, snow skiing, and participating in archery competitions around the country. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Limerick was preceded in death by two brothers, John Pepper, Jr. and Alvin Pepper; and three sisters, Margaret Gallahan, Lois Peyton, and Cora Verburg. Surviving, are two daughters, Susan L. McGee and her husband, Greg of Beaufort, NC and Crystal B. Limerick and her partner, Karla Bower of Lyndhurst; two grandchildren, Capt. Andrew Trout, U. S. N. and his wife, Erica and Amy Elizabeth Trout and her companion, Jeff Young; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt J. , Clara Vivian, and Olivia Clair; and special nieces, Val Verburg, Tammie Rinaldo, Vicki Peyton, and Faith Verburg. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by her nephew, Rev. John Verberg. James Conway Brown, 85, of Staunton passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Shenandoah Nursing Home, Fishersville. Born August 7, 1938 in Springfield, Va, he was a son of the late Everett Conway and Lula Elvira (Davis) Brown. James was a U. S. veteran having served his country honorably with the Navy. He attended Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice, VA. As an avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed spending his Sundays rooting for Dale Earnhardt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Everett and Phillip Henry; and seven sisters, Silvia Eliza, Thelma Sue, Iva Louise, Nancy Dale, Lucie Ella, Clara Mae, and Betty Lula. Survivors include his children, Michael Brown and wife, Brenda, of Staunton, Justin Brown of Olympia, WA, and Bryan Rumph of Virginia; sister, Gladys Shorkey of Greenville; grandchildren, Clarissa Hoffman and husband, Tyler, Ashley Smith and husband, James, and Taylor Brown; great-grandchildren, Charlee Smith, Porter Smith, Rylan Smith, and Quinn Hoffman; and numerous nieces and nephews. John Walter Swink, 86, of Waynesboro, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. He was born in Waynesboro, VA, the son of the late Walter A. Swink and the late Bessie B. Swink. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann S. Hagwood. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Lafferty Swink; son, Timothy A. Swink and daughter, Kimberly S. Hardy (Jody); sister, Susan S. Johnson (Ronald); brother, Gary H. Swink (Dana); grandsons, Alexander Hardy and Joshua Hardy; numerous nieces and nephews. John graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1957, and went on to join the Army Reserves, stationed in Fort Knox, KY. He was an avid bowler, which led to meeting his future wife. John worked as a draftsman at Southern Stainless for over 30 years. He went on to work at Metfab, before finally retiring to enjoy golf, fishing and traveling across the country with his wife, Jean. John was one of the original members of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church, watching it as it was built. He loved his church, serving God, and always put others first. Some of his passions at Glovier were serving as a youth leader, assisting with vacation bible school, singing in the choir, making Chrismon tree ornaments, making apple butter and taking photos for the church directory. With his kindness and humor, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed telling a good joke, often repeating it if he knew it made someone laugh. Throughout his life, John enjoyed taking his family on vacations to the beach and hosting extended family to ring in the New Year. Per his request, there will be no visitation or services.
