Linda A. Lindner, age 67, of Spirit Falls, WI, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, under the care of her family and Compassus Hospice. Linda was born in Tomahawk, WI, on September 8, 1955, to George "Pat" P. Jr. , and Dona (Ernst) Jahn. She was married to Scott Lindner on June 15, 1974; he survives. Linda was a 1973 graduate of Tomahawk High School and later attended Nicolet College as an accounting major. She entered the workforce beginning employment at Rhinelander Glass. Linda then worked as a manager at Hardees in Tomahawk for many years and later was employed as a cook at the Junction Restaurant where she was fortunate to work alongside all of her daughters. Linda was a dedicated mother and homemaker who lovingly raised her children. She was a talented cook and baker, always making enough food to feed an army, and was known for her famous homemade doughnuts that she adored making for her grandchildren. Linda supported her children and grandchildren at every sporting event and was truly their biggest fan. She enjoyed traveling with Scott visiting Alaska and Branson, MO. In her later years, she loved her trips to the casino. Linda served as the Town of Tomahawk Clerk for many years. Spirit Falls was always home to Linda and holds a special place in her heart. She loved the country picking wild berries and flowers and making memories with her family. Linda battled Parkinson's Disease for many years with grace and dignity and put up an amazing fight. She will forever be missed by her loving family. Survivors include her husband, Scott Lindner, of Spirit Falls; her son, Kyle (Liz) Lindner, of Spirit Falls; her daughters, Heather (Randal Anderson) Rigney, of Tomahawk, Angela (David Williams) Mayle, of Tomahawk, and Jennie (Jesse Croxford) Lindner, of Oneida, WI; her mother, Dona Jahn, of Spirit Falls; her brothers, Wayne (Wanda) Jahn, of Waukegan, IL, and Kevin (LuAnn) Jahn, of Spirit Falls; her sisters, Luanne (Bob) Karl, of Tomahawk, and Vicki (Craig) Madlung, of Spirit Falls. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Kayleigh (Colten) Rieck, Kenneth Hanke, Skyler (Josh Gaudynski) Prentice, Kelsie Rigney, Colton Mayle, Rylie Anderson, Mia Mayle, Tapanga Prentice, Lillyanna Williams, Peyton Lindner, Brantley Lindner, Ryker, Lindner, Maverick Lindner, and Aundrea Albert; her great-grandchildren, Kowyn Rigney and Hadleigh Selkoe, with a grandbaby due in March; in addition to many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Pat Jahn; and her infant great-grandson, Becham Gaudynski. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice and Liz Krueger for their exceptional care throughout Linda's journey. Funeral services for Linda Lindner will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Generations Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Jahn will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Generations Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Internment will follow at the Spirit Falls Cemetery. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.

Louise A. Kienbaum, 85, Tomahawk and recently Rice Lake, died Friday December 2nd, 2023 at Our House Assisted Living Rice Lake under St. Croix Hospice Care. Louise was born August 31st, 1938 in Rib Falls, daughter of the late Dalles and Hazel (Kramm) Ristau. On January 19th, 1957 she married Gordon Kienbaum at the Methodist church in Rib Falls, Wisconsin. He survives. Louise was a homemaker and sold Avon in the 70's. She loved to garden, can vegetables and venison, snowmobile and fish in her earlier years. She served in the church auxiliary and attended bible study for many years with her dear friends in Merrill. Her and Gordon traveled the states in their motorhome throughout the 80's and 90's. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved making everyone's favorite dishes when they visited. She was spirited and mighty with a deep love and affection for her family. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Gordon Kienbaum, Tomahawk; children: Kevin Kienbaum, Merrill and Kirsten (Tom) King of Birchwood; grandchildren: Kari (Joe) Nitsch of Tomahawk, Kristopher (Jen) Kienbaum of Wausau, Kodiak King of Birchwood, and Adam (Kristina) King of Birchwood; great-grandchildren: Michaela Kienbaum, Hunter Nitsch, Karyssa Kienbaum and Ella King; siblings: Helen Brandt of Wausau, Judy Thomsen of Wausau, and Betty (Craig Green) Ristau of Oceanside, CA; sister-in-law Sherry Ristau and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Joan Zastrow, brothers Rodney and Russell Ristau. Private family services will be held later in Spring.Show more

Clarence "Bud" R. Koffke, age 83, of Hazelhurst, WI, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Rennes Health & Rehab Center in Weston, WI, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Bud was born in Wauwatosa, WI, on September 30, 1940, to the late Clarence E. and Helen H. (Gerdes) Koffke. He was married to Virginia Pfeiffle in July of 1965; she passed away in 2022. Bud was a 1958 graduate of the Bradley Technology and Trade High School in Milwaukee, WI. After high school, he was a long-time sheet metal worker who retired in 2002. For many years, Bud and Ginny enjoyed spending time at their cottage in the Hazelhurst area and moved here permanently in 1972. Soon after, he upgraded from the cottage and built Ginny her dream home on the Tomahawk River. Bud was a talented mechanic and builder who could fix or build anything he put his mind to, including modified race car engines. He spent many hours woodworking in his workshop, gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Bud was a founding member of the Little Rice Fire Department and assisted in building the department. He was an outdoorsman who loved walking his granddog, Buddy. Survivors include his daughters, Vicki (Mike) Anderson, of Hazelhurst, and Gina (Eric) Martin, of Tomahawk; his grandchildren, Erik (Shannon) Anderson, Kayla Martin (Adam Teske), and Kelly Martin (Noah Gieseke); his great-grandchildren, Raelynne, Owen, Colt, Lydia, with an additional great-grandchild on the way; his fur grandbaby, Buddy; his sisters, Darlene Koffke and Carolyn Weber; and his brother-in-law, Norman Pfeiffle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen; his wife, Ginny; and his brother, Jim Koffke. A private celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Cindy L. Crowell, age 67, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2023, under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Cindy was born in Tomahawk, WI, on March 3, 1956, to the late Clarence and Rosalie (Steinbach) Smith, Sr. She attended the Tomahawk School District until late in her Junior year and then went to Florence High School. After high school, Cindy held various jobs but when her daughters were born, she was happy to become a full-time mom and homemaker. Cindy's hobbies included baking and wood craft projects and had a love for bears and drinking coffee. On Saturday nights, she looked forward to watching the Mollie B. Polka Party which aired on RFD-TV. Above all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family. Survivors include her husband, Leo Crowell; her daughters, Connie Jones and LuAnn Krahn; her granddaughter, Angela Liebers; her grandson, Keyan Leder (Bubba); her sisters, Kathy (Paul) Kurth, and Rosanne Barr; her brothers, Dennis (Kathie) Smith, Earl (Gail) Smith, and Jim (Julie) Smith; and her aunts, MaryAnn Streib and Betty Ingman. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rosalie Smith; her brothers, Randy Smith and Clarence Smith, Jr. ; her grandson, Joel "Joey" Jones; her brother-in-law, Ronnie Barr; and several paternal and maternal aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Aspirus Merrill Hospital, and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services for the care they gave Cindy at the end stages of her life. Funeral services for Cindy Crowell will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Generations Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Mathein will officiate. Howard (Butch) William Hoff, 77, of Tomahawk, WI passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff. Howard was born June 23, 1946 in Tomahawk the son of Howard and Marion (VanNorman) Hoff. Howard graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1964. He worked in the construction industry and retired in 2007 from Tomahawk Log Homes. He was united in marriage to Nancy Boykins on July 11, 1964 in Tomahawk. Howard loved spending time at the log cabin he built. He loved being outdoors and was happiest when he had dirt under his nails or hip boots on his feet. He was an avid vegetable gardener and grew a huge beautiful vegetable garden. One would have a difficult time finding any weeds in his garden. Howard was a Brewer and Packer fan and enjoyed all sports. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and playing golf. Howards faith was also very important to him. Howard especially loved spending time with his family. He may have been a man of few words but he always had a great sense of humor. He is going to be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 59 years, their three children, Brad Hoff, Rebecca (Charles) Jaecks, and Brendt Hoff all of Tomahawk. 4 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters and one great great granddaughter. Sisters, Sharon (Robert) Eisenman, Tomahawk; Cindy (Bob) Westcott, Tomahawk; Debbie (Glen) Powers, Tomahawk; and brother-in-law, Charlie (Teri) Wilson, Illinois. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Kathy Wilson , Daughter-in-law Lori and his Grandson. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Monday, December, 4, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Louis Maram Reddy officiating with a luncheon served afterwards in the Corpus Christi Hall. No visitation will be held per his wishes.Show more
