Linda Cordell Obituary

Mrs. Linda Ann Cordell, age 78, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in a local hospital. Mrs. Cordell was born in Bartow County, GA on September 13, 1945, daughter of the late Raymond Shepherd and the late Essie Mae Shepherd. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bessie Knight, and Jo Stephens. Linda LOVED her family, she enjoyed cooking for them, especially baking them cookies, she was legendary for her Brunswick stew and BBQ. Mrs. Cordell was a member of Northwood Baptist Church, and she was a proud deacon's wife. Her hobbies were reading and playing trivia games. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt, and she will be missed by all. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry Cordell, to whom she was married on October 19, 1963; her children, Todd Cordell, Sharon Collins, Jeff Cordell (Jimmy Day), and Kelly Cordell; her grandchildren, Crystal Cochran (Barry), Leigh Ann Collins (Darrell Rogers), Nichole Collins, and Kyrsten Cordell; her great grandsons, Dalton Byrd, Micah Byrd, and Dallas Rogers; her sister, Nancy Holcombe(Jerry); her niece Quinn Housley(Melvin); and her lifelong friend Brenda Fowler. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens with her brother-in-law Marvin Cordell and Rev Robert Vines officiating. Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of funeral arrangements.
