Sharon K. Edmondson of Hanover County was born April 14, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, November 28, she was 78 years old. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia (Ginny) Williams; her beloved husband of 37 years, David Edmondson. Surviving her is a loving family including her brother, Larry Williams; three sons Brian Martin (Kim), Victor Bowman (Carolyn), and Jeff Edmondson (Blake); a chosen daughter, Tracy Bell; three grandchildren, Jake Bowman, Jessica Bowman (Jacob), and Amanda Martin (Leeann); her close companion, Neil Ahner, for whom she cared deeply, and a wealth of extended family and friends. Her father's career with the U. S. Army provided the opportunity to travel the world through his various duty assignments and she was a proud graduate of Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan where she lived for three years. Eventually settling in the Hanover, VA area, Sharon held several professional positions but was most passionate about her work on child support reform with the Department of Social Services in her early career and as a caregiver for seniors in her later career, through which she formed lifelong friendships. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed tailgating at NASCAR events, listening to opera (specifically Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman), and loving her many pets. Sharon's love and light will be missed greatly by all who knew her. A service will be held at 3 p. m. on Sunday, December 10 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church 7046 Cold Harbor Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Robert Valentine, age 96, passed away on November 21, 2023. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on January 24, 1927, to Raymond Valentine and Vera Daugherty Valentine. He is survived by his sister, Marian Valentine Edwards of Gahanna, his son, Mark (Candice) Valentine of Grove City, Janet (John) Pander of Douglasville, GA, stepchildren, Lynn L. Miller of Grove City, Dr. Michael (Colleen) Miller of Little Rock, AR, and grandchildren Greg Valentine, Jeff (Kelley) Valentine, Ashley (Bill) Wilson, Amanda Parsons, Brian (Dr. Elizabeth) Parsons, Chris (Kristi) Parsons, Che Shaw, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Heery Valentine, brother Richard Louis Valentine, and great-grandson Cameron Shaw. His wife, Betty Preston Miller Valentine followed him in death two days after he passed. Bob graduated from North High School in 1945 and quickly joined the Army, serving in WWII and the Army of Occupation of Germany for two and a half years. After discharge, he attended The Ohio State University, graduating in 1951 with an accounting degree. He worked as an accountant for RCA in Cincinnati and Circleville for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He and Betty married in 1988 and enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and numerous countries throughout the world. Bob was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Reds, Bengals, and especially Ohio State football. His love for OSU football started in 1939 as a Boy Scout usher in "The Shoe". He enjoyed music of all kinds, especially "Big Band" music. Bob and Betty were members of the reunion committees for both North High School and Ohio State. Bob loved his family and will be deeply missed by family and friends. Visitation will be 2pm-4pm on Sunday December 17 and an hour before the 10am memorial service on Monday, December 18, Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover Rd, Grove City, OH. Edwin E. Reiber, 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023. Ed was born on April 13, 1930, in York, PA. Following his graduation from York High School in 1948 he married his sweetheart, June Ann Marks in 1951. Ed served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1954 in Cherry Point, NC. He then earned both his B. S. and M. S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Ed was employed as a senior research engineer at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio where he was credited with many inventions and patents. In retirement, he and June were proprietors of Second Thoughts Antique Mall in Clintonville, Ohio, where he loved restoring furniture and serving their clients. He was a founding member of the Amateur Winemakers Guild of Columbus and helped establish the winemaking competition at the Ohio State Fair. Our beloved "Poppy" will be remembered for his longstanding, perpetual dry humor which we all absolutely loved. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Ira M. Reiber, Sr. and Elizabeth N. (Ziegler), wife of 50 years, June Marks Reiber, and his brother Ira M. Reiber, Jr. He is survived by his son, Mark E. Reiber (Jenny) of Gastonia, NC and grandchildren Will and Olivia of Charlotte, NC, and Brooks of New York, NY. Wife, Phyllis "Joy" Reiber of Columbus, OH, and her children Shelley Green of Montrose, CO, and Mark Green of Columbus, OH. Ed was a long-time member of Church of the Master, United Methodist Church in Westerville, Ohio. Brandon Davon Hoston was born June 25, 1988, to Derek Davon Hoston and Sherri Renee Smith in Columbus, Ohio. He sadly departed this life on November 19, 2023, at the age of 35. Brandon had accomplished getting his GED, and he worked at HD Supply where he provided for his family. Brandon was a character! He was a funny, loving, and caring person. He loved making memories with the ones he loved most. He loved traveling, playing the game, rapping, shopping, and a number of other things. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan! Brandon was a father, son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, and loving husband to Leticia (Tish) Barker. Brandon was very close with his cousins, Marquan Hoston, Micheal and Lexus Corbin, Isiah Israel, Trent Seal, Travin Miller, and Troy Johnson. Brandon was full of life and the person everyone wanted to be around. In Loving Memory of Reva Mae Dixon Reva Mae Dixon, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 24, 2023, at The OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born on July 5, 1931, in Springfield, Reva was a cherished member of her community and leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Reva was the daughter of Roosevelt and Louise Cockran and grew up alongside her brother Elton Cockran. She was a proud graduate of Springfield South High School, where she cultivated the knowledge and wisdom that would shape her throughout her life. Reva's worked as a dedicated housekeeper for Olan Mills. Her commitment and passion for her work left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the countless families who passed through the doors of the photo studio. When she wasn't working, Reva found solace in her hobbies. A lover of literature, she could often be found with her nose buried in a book, indulging in stories that transported her to other worlds. Additionally, she possessed a green thumb that flourished as beautifully as the flowers she tended to in her garden. The simplicity and beauty of nature always brought her joy and peace. She was a member of Fair Street Christian Church in Springfield. Family was the cornerstone of Reva's life, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She was survived by her son William Dixon, granddaughter Danna Curtis, grandson William (Renee) Castleberry, great-grandson William McClain, granddaughters Genesis Castleberry, and great-granddaughter Willow Castleberry. Their love, laughter, and memories will forever hold a special place in her heart.
