Linda Adkins Obituary

"Linda K. (Bond) Adkins, age 74, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Linda was born on August 3, 1948 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Roy and Delilah (McSwain) Bond. After graduating from College High in 1966, she went on to receive a full music scholarship to Northeastern State College in Tahlequah. In 1970 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology. In 1972, she married James Lloyd Adkins of Elm Mott, Texas and moved to Dallas, Texas. They were later divorced. In 1981, she moved back to Tulsa and joined the TCC Community Orchestra where she played first violin until her death. Her passions also included being an environmental activist with the Sierra Club for decades, where she also received the Volunteer Award twice. She was also an ardent advocate for animal rights and has rescued many animals who became loving pets. She has had numerous professions including Elementary Special Education Teacher, Mental Health Case Manager, and Administrative Officer for individuals with developmental disabilities. She has chosen to have a green burial because of her dedication to preserving the environment. There will be a celebration of her life at Moore\u0027s Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma at 3PM, Sunday, May 21, 2023 and she will be laid to rest in the green burial sections at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
