Patricia A. Swoger, 96, of Edinboro, died Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Sarah Reed Senior Living Center. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 8, 1927, the daughter of the late James and Genevieve Swoger. Pat graduated from Mercy Hospital Nursing School and worked as an RN at the Veteran Affairs Medical Centers in Cleveland, Oil City, but mostly in Pittsburgh. She was a member of Edinboro Senior Citizens and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Pat loved to complete puzzles, sew and cross stitch. She also used to cross-country ski. Pat made sure that family was always first and was given the responsibility of keeping the family together. Her favorite word that she used everyday was "Alleluia". She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Peter Swoger; and two sisters, Mary Louise Bryan and Janet Rodgers. Survivors include a brother, Msgr. John Swoger of Erie and many nieces and nephews.The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Larry K. Harned, Sr., 85 of Edinboro, died Thursday, January 25, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Edinboro on April 30, 1938, the son of the late Lynn and Edna Harned.A lifelong resident of Edinboro, Larry graduated from the former Edinboro High School. He owned and operated Harned Roofing and Painting for 45 years and was a bus driver for the General McLane School District for 37 years. He served his community as a lifetime member of the Edinboro Fire Department, where he ran Bingo for many years, and was active in the Edinboro Jaycees and Boy Scouts. He was a member of Edinboro United Methodist Church, where he always looked forward to preparing Sunday coffee and treats. He enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends, taking care of his farm on his John Deere tractors, and morning coffee at the Empty Keg. LK was well known for his teasing nature, enjoyed playing practical jokes on his family and friends, enjoyed singing, dancing, and spending long hours cutting his grass. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry K. Harned, Jr.; a daughter Cynthia M. Robert J. Kraus, 90 of Edinboro, died Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Edinboro Manor. He was born in Erie, PA on December 4, 1933, the son of the late Richard and Marcella Kraus. Bob attended East High School in Erie. He served in the US Army for two years and worked as a coremaker for Erie Casting Co. for over 30 years. He later worked in maintenance for the General McLane School District.Bob was one of the original and lifetime members of Knights of Columbus, Council #6191 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro. He was active in the Presque Isle Beagle Club, enjoyed hunting and was happy to have realized his dream of building and owning a camp with the Joseph Saber family. For over 50 years, Bob and his brothers bowled in the Erie Brothers Bowling Tournament and he enjoyed sharing the team's name with his nephews from Michigan. He also bowled in a local league at Edinboro Lanes for many years. Bob always looked forward to participating with the GM Marching Band on his John Deere tractor. Above all, he loved to spend time with family and was especially proud of his two great grandchildren, Everett Skelton and Findley Hanby. Bob was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward (Doris) Kraus, William (Marge) Kraus, and Richard Kraus.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Findley) Kraus; two daughters, Deborah Sanden of Waterford and Diane (Robert) Skelton of Springboro; a brother, Donald Kraus of Gibsonia, PA; two sisters, Mary Garland of Webster, NY and Marcella "Sally" Harmle of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Steven Sanden, Andrew (Rylee) Sanden, Jessica (Kyle) Hanby, Derek (Alyssa) Skelton and Rachel Skelton; great grandchildren; a sister- in-law, Allene Kraus of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Erie VA, Edinboro Medical Center, Comfort Keepers, St. Vincent Hospital, Edinboro Manor and AseraCare Hospice for all of their care and support. Eleanor J. Docter, 91, of Centerville, passed away, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Edinboro Manor. She was born on July 8, 1932 in Townville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Lymon Fitch and Jessie Rodgers Fitch. She married Glenn Edwards who preceded her in death. She subsequently married William Docter who also preceded her in death. She was employed at the Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs and in her free time she enjoyed baking, crocheting, flower gardening, and time with her dogs and family. She is survived by three daughters, Lois Howell and her husband Carl of Georgia, Marie Swisshelm and her companion Dennis of Centerville, Darlene Lake and her husband Lee of Guys Mills; four sons, Grant Edwards and his wife Brenda of Meadville, Art Edwards of Townville, Glenn Edwards and his companion Lisa Newberry of Centerville, Terry Edwards and his wife Robin of Centerville; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands; she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Aaron Wilson; a brother, Robert Smith; and four sisters, Dorothy Caldwell, Naomi Rodgers, Ruth Drake, and Bessie Heath. Margaretta Kathleen Burnheimer (née Jones), age 74, passed away on January 24, 2024, at Edinboro Manor in Edinboro, PA, after a long debilitating battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Kathy was born July 7, 1949, in Meadville, PA to Morris V. Jones and Donis W. Mobley Jones. She married Ronald Burnheimer in 1967 and relocated to Phoenixville, PA.Kathy lived in the Norristown/Pottstown area for most of her life. She worked in administration and contracts for Aetna for 25 years and was a member of the Cedarville United Methodist Church in Cedarville, PA. She was a loving mother and grandmother, affectionately known as ‘Nonny’ to her grandchildren, to whom she never missed sending birthday and holiday cards, as well as notes here and there letting them know how she cared for them. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and her hobbies were reading, learning about outer space and many other topics, sewing, quilting and embroidery, and observing and being in nature for walks and hikes in earlier times.Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Jones in January 1972, her sister Karen (Hargett) Cooley in October 1972, her infant son Jeffrey Alan in January 1976, her parents in 2003, her grand-niece Amanda Hughes in 2005, and her sister Janice Tangeman in October 2022.Survivors include three sons, David Burnheimer (Stephanie), Daniel Burnheimer (Adrienne), and Andrew Burnheimer (Lauren), six grandchildren, Ethan, Allison, Ava, Josh, Charlie, and Jack, three nieces Donna Gray, Diane Papavero (Paul), and Sharon Hughes, and three nephews Dillon Gray, Michael Jones (Michellee), and Steven Jones (Dody).Condolences and memories can be shared at www.hatheway-tedesco.com. He was born May 15, 1965 in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Thomas and Sandy Moraski.David graduated from General McLane High School in 1983 and earned an associate degree from Triangle Tech. He was currently employed as an inspector for PennDOT, where he worked for 20 years.He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a proud member of the NRA. He also loved to garden and landscape around the house. He was always proud of his wonderful garden and the delicious veggies we all enjoyed. He enjoyed collecting coins and giving them out to his nieces and nephews. He was a hard worker, sometimes putting in 6 or 7 days per week on the job. Nathan was a caring and loving father. He is survived by his mother and step father, Melanie R. Stolz and Richard L. Williams of Edinboro, and his son, Wyatt Jasper Stolz at home. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eric Paul Stolz, and an aunt and uncle, Sharon and Tim Curran. There will be no viewing. Visitation will be held at the Fairview Bible Church, 6100 Avonia Rd, Fairview, PA, on Friday, November 18th, 2016 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 8:00PM. She was born in Warren County, PA on November 13th, 1944. Barbara was the daughter of the late Ruben & Mary Jane (Allen) White. Barbara loved her family, cooking, baking, and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved playing cards and getting her nails and hair done by her grandchildren. Barbara worked for Edinboro Manor for 18 years and enjoyed every minute of helping the residents and making them feel like family. She is survived by her brother, Roger White; her sister, Carol Steffey; her children, Candy Bingham and her husband Mike, and their children Amanda and Danielle; Her son, James Russell Jr. and Victoria Stempka, and his children Jessica, Tiffany, James, and Jeannie; her step children, Robin Billings, Charlotte Barto, Janice Litz, Howard Burkett, John Burkett, Everett Burkett and Tina Litz, and many great-grandchildren.
