Lilly Ann Koehn, age 79 of North Canton, Ohio passed away early Friday morning September 8th, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1944 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Siemund. Lilly is survived by her husband of 55 years, David and daughters Laurie (Darren) Ritter and Susan (Rich) Lucore, sister Rose (Phil) Eberhart, brother James (Rexine) Siemund, four grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and three grand dogs. Lilly was full of life and loved her family and friends. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and travel group, loved shopping and spending time at the casinos. She spent February's in Florida with the snowbirds and loved family vacations in Lake Norman, NC. She fought a hard battle with cancer and appreciates the care she received at Timken Family Cancer Center, especially from Jamie who was a special person to Lilly and always brought her favorite cookies. During treatments, Lilly continued to put on a smile and look her best whenever she could. A funeral service will be held at 1 p. m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Rossi Family Funeral Home (730 30th St NW Canton). Entombment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery. Gladys May (Henry) Markley, age 99, passed away at St. Luke Nursing Home in North Canton on Friday, December 1, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1924 to Lewis and Aletha (Bailey) Henry of Massillon. After graduation from Washington High School (she occasionally spoke of babysitting for coach Paul Brown's children), Gladys joined the war-era Cadet Nurse Corps program, learning in residence at the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing (Morrow Hall), and graduating as an RN in 1946. In October of that year, she married Franklin G. Markley, Jr. at Simpson Methodist Church in Canton. Performing the marriage was the father of the groom, Rev. Franklin G. Markley, Sr. They remained married for 68 years until her husband's death in 2014. Gladys worked for eight years as a nurse at Aultman Hospital, then for over 15 years for Dr. Merle Weaver, MD, next as a nurse at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Canton, and finally as an agency nurse until her retirement in the mid-1990s. She is survived by three children, David Markley (Columbus), Frank Markley (Ashland), and Guy (Frances) Markley (North Canton); three grandchildren, Kelly (Brandon) Gregory, Jill Ward, and Matthew Ward; and four great-grandchildren, Dakota Gregory, Lily Gregory, Emmi Ward, and Reese Ward. Gladys leaves behind three brothers, Tom Henry, Merle Henry, and Dale (Sue) Henry, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Franklin and her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Vera (Bradley) Hart, Marie Radcliffe, Willard Henry, and Doris Saunier-Arney. Diane M. Snyder, age 81, of North Canton passed away on November 28, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 11, 1942, in Lockhaven, PA to Henry and Anna (Ganoe) Packer and is a graduate of Canton Timken High School where she was active as a cheerleader and student librarian and later as the Alumni Association Secretary. Diane enjoyed baking, watching cooking shows, collecting recipes, and working on crossword puzzles. Along with those hobbies, she loved playing dominoes with her friends and euchre with her grandchildren. Diane's faith played an instrumental role throughout her life and included previous memberships at Bethel Church where she taught Sunday School, led adult bible studies, and was past president of Church Council and as a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church and most recently as a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 2016. Diane served her children as room mother at Clarendon Grade School and was known for "getting things done" while her children were in school. Diane is preceded in death by her parents Henry O. Packer and Anne Packer; granddaughter Courtney Renee DeWees. She is survived by her husband Jerry E. Snyder; children Johnna (Rick) DeWees, Ric (Sonja) Snyder, Jeri Lynn (Doug) Holt, and Todd (Lisa) Snyder; grandchildren Heather DeWees, Mischelle (Chris) Christen, Jared (Maria) Holt, Alyssa (Tyler) Lechtanski, Brandon (Jessica) Snyder, Zachary (Kristina) Snyder, Kyle (Kylie) DeWees, and Jessica (Ryan) Hartman; 15 great grandchildren; sister Mona Jean (Neil) McBratney; several nieces and nephews. Beatrice Virginia McFarren, age 99, of North Canton passed away Wednesday November 15, 2023. She was born January 26, 1924 in Sherrodsville, OH to her parents, the late, Otis and Ruth (Johnston) German. She was a 1942 graduate of McKinley High School and attended Kent State University. Bea spent some winters in Palmetto, Florida where, at 80 years of age, she enjoyed being a reading tutor at an elementary school close to them. She was dedicated to her family and loved them deeply. Bea had the sweetest, kindest disposition and will be greatly missed by her family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leland C. McFarren in 2010 whom she married on December 21, 1947. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Shirley) German, Charles (Betty) German, Richard (Winnie) German and Joan German. Survivors include a son, Michael L. McFarren; a daughter, Lynne C. Morris; two grandchildren, John W. (Laura) Morris and David W. Edwin "Ed" Everett Nelson, Jr. , age 79, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 16, 2023. Ed was a faithful servant of God and member of Woodlawn Church for 30 years, serving as an Elder and Treasurer. He was a 1962 graduate of Perry High School where he played football. Ed spent 66 years with his high school sweetheart and his "sunshine", Patty Roberts, and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Ed was a hard worker and an intelligent businessman. He was an Ironworker for Local 550 and worked at Meredith Erectors and Selinsky. Ed was Co-Owner of Racer's Outlet/Dave & Ed's Auto Events for 33 years, hosting shows in Canton and Canfield. He owned many rental properties and loved remodeling and fixing up houses. After retirement, Ed and his beloved wife were snowbirds for 10 years in Naples, FL. He adored his cats and rescued 8 during his lifetime, and he leaves behind his precious Abraham and Sarah. Ed treasured time with those he loved. He was very proud and supportive of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed fully enjoyed life, taking many vacations and cruises. His last vacation was with his family to Aruba in December 2022 where he celebrated New Year's. Ed loved all things racing including the sound of a roaring engine and the smell of fuel. He enjoyed many years racing dragsters and stock cars. His favorite track was Winchester Speedway where he set a track record in his division. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mary Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Patty) Nelson, children Kelly (Michael) Hines and Edwin "Ed" Nelson III, grandsons Cody and Adam, 5 step-grandchildren (Sarah, Amanda, Jake, Ellie and Ryan), 9 great-grandchildren, sisters Cheryl Merriman and Peggy Nelson, Sister-in-Law Sally (Fred) Craft and Brother-in-Law Gary (Patty) Roberts, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ed poured into so many people's lives and was an incredible living example of integrity, love and generosity. We will never forget the imprint he has made on our lives or his signature laughter. Doris Jean Martin "Jean," devoted mother to Nancy Jane Neal and Susan Martin Wolf went to be with God at 5:25 a. m. on November 5, 2023 at the young age of 95. Jean grew up in Toledo Ohio and graduated from DeVilbiss High School and the University of Toledo. Jean married Richard John Martin on April 9, 1949 and moved to North Canton, Ohio. Jean started her teaching career in Louisville, Ohio teaching English and home economics. Jean and Richard moved to West Bloomfield, Michigan in 1963 where she taught physical education. She was an active member of Sylvan Lake Lutheran Church. Jean was active in sports including water and snow skiing, skating, tennis, and bowling. She loved, gardening and bird watching. Jean is survived by her daughters Nancy Jane Neal and Susan Martin Wolf, grandchildren Richard J. Neal, Christine M. Neal and Allison M. McKenna, her great grandson Liam J. McKenna, her devoted companion Glenn Geldien, and her best friend from childhood Maryann Pfeffer. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Richard John Martin, her father Edward B. Young, her mother Doris M. Dancer, her brother Harry F. Young and her sister Carolyn Massoni. Marvin L. Trickett, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Morgantown, WV on October 31, 1943 to the late Carl and Gladys (Miller) Trickett. Marvin spent many years building his career as a mechanical designer and draftsman. Marvin was a very creative soul who enjoyed many interests, including art, landscaping and gardening, carpentry, and many outdoor activities. He loved spending time with his wife, Melissa, going camping, fishing, hiking, and boating. A faithful man, Marvin was a member of Zion United Christian Church, and would love to talk about God with anyone who would listen. Marvin was kind to everyone, and would always lend a helping hand if something needed fixed. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by his brother, David Trickett; and twin sister, Mary (David) Brock. Ruth M. Fisher, 87, passed away on October 29, 2023 at Windsor Medical Center in North Canton. Ruth was born January 3, 1936 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Margaret Hobbins. At a young age, she and her family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, which was the beginning for Ruth's lifelong devotion as a Green Bay Packer's fan. Following high school, she set out on her own and was employed by Trans-Canada Air-Lines as a special travel agent, working in cities such as Chicago and San Francisco. One of Ruth's favorite destinations was Jamaica. Ruth married Ron Fisher on January 3, 1959, (her birthday) in Green Bay, and in 1964, the couple relocated to North Canton where they raised five children. In her mid-fifties, Ruth began working at the North Canton YMCA as a lifeguard and swim instructor with her tenure at the YMCA lasting until age 83. Ruth cherished her friendships at the YMCA and especially enjoyed being an instructor for the physically challenged classes. Ruth has been a member of St. Paul's Church in North Canton for 59 years where, over the years, she volunteered as a guitar player for folk masses and also taught the children's catechism classes. Her other social activities included playing tennis gourmet club, and her prayer group. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, and her lasting impact on the community. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Bill Hobbins and son-in-law, Jeff Rusu. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ron; sons, Mark Fisher, Tom (Jenna) Fisher, and Chris (Julie) Fisher; daughters, Kathy (Ned) Dworak and Susan Rusu; grandchildren, Emily, Madison, Max, Mason, Leah, Aubrey, and Kaylyn. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10AM with burial to follow at North Canton Cemetery.
