Obituary of Lillian Tedford Lillian T. Tedford, 88, of the Ken Perry Road, Saranac, died unexpectedly, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at her home of her friend, on the True Brook Road in Saranac. She was born in Plattsburgh, October 19, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Delia (Reyell) Schmitt. Lillian grew up in Dannemora and graduated from Dannemora High School in 1948. She married Harold Robert Tedford, Saturday, September 10, 1949 at St. Joseph's rectory in Dannemora. He predeceased her Sunday, May 19, 1974. Lillian was a "lunch lady", as she enjoyed being referred, at Saranac Central School for several years, but the majority of her life was spent caring for and raising her 8 children. She loved camping, cooking, baking, knitting, doing puzzles, and especially enjoyed time with her family. Lillian valued her friendship with Barbara "Bright City" Kopp and always enjoyed their travels together. Left to cherish the memory of Lillian are, her children, Bonnie Tedford of Florida, Roy Tedford of Saranac, John Tedford of Saranac, Tim (Heather) Tedford of Saranac, Bill (Penny) Tedford of Peru, Joe (Liz) Tedford of Saranac, Julie Tedford and her partner, Debbie Hartgrove of New Jersey, and Jason (Shelley) Tedford of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her longtime companion, Kenneth Perry; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Marion) Schmitt; and sister, Charlotte. Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 1 to 4 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Committal prayers and burial will be held in the spring in the Saranac Independence Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
