Lexi Caye Hagen passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3 in Rapid City, South Dakota at the age of 27. She was born in Mayville, North Dakota on February 4, 1996. Lexi spent most of her childhood in Huron, South Dakota until she moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where she graduated high school in 2015. Lexi was a free spirit and her greatest joys were being one with nature, vibing to her favorite music, and surrounding herself with the people who loved her. She was not bound by rules or expectations and always followed her own intuition and passions. Lexi saw the beauty in everything anywhere she went and her infectious laughter instantly lit up the room. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Stacy Jaeger, and brother, Casey Hundstad. Lexi is survived by her parents, Brent Bednarz, Heidi Hundstad, and Kristy Bemis; siblings: Mallory, Danica (Joey and Owen), Seth, Chace, Preston, Alex, and Carson; grandparents and countless loved ones. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Gazebo at Canyon Lake Park.

Donald V. Baldock, 87, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, North Dakota. Donald Vance Baldock, the son of Herbert and Alice (Amundson) Baldock, was born on October 14, 1935 at Mayville, North Dakota. He grew up and attended schools near Portland, North Dakota. He farmed Section 29 near Mayville. Donald married Delores Johnson on July 20, 1955 at Mayville. They lived and farmed east of Mayville until moving to East Grand Forks. He worked for the family business Eastside Express in East Grand Forks, and also did carpentry work in the Grand Forks area. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, gardening, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed spending winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Donald is survived by his children, Scott Baldock, East Grand Forks, MN, Judy (Mike) Stellon, Drayton, ND, Mike (Trina) Baldock, Colorado Springs, CO, and Jeff (Jody) Baldock, Grand Forks, ND; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Swenson, Cando, ND, and Phyllis Allred, San Jacinto, CA; a brother, Lynn Baldock, Lake Elsinore, CA; sisters-in-law, Mary Baldock, Mayville, ND, Eleanor Bjerke, Page, ND, and Darlene Aune, Taylor, ND; a brother-in-law, Ralph Johnson, Hutchinson, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores, a son, Charles Baldock, a grandson, Ross Mapel, and brothers, Lowell, Howard, and Dennis. Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm. Friday, May 5, 2023 in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Soderberg Cemetery, Buxton, North Dakota. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.Show more

Dixie Lynn Woods-Balstad, 67, formerly of Mayville, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 19, 2022, at the Lutheran Home at Kane, after a brief illness. She was born on July 20, 1954 in Kane to the late Elmer Woods Sr. and Lucille Swedenhjelm. A graduate of Kane Area High School in 1972, Dixie had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed people and had a very giving heart, she also loved animals and gardening. While living in North Dakota, she had a large vegetable garden and had taken a Master Gardener Class. Dixie always had a smile and appreciated her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Dixie is survived by her sons, Kol Balstad of Mayville, ND, and Drew Balstad of Fargo, ND; sister Carolyn Eastman of Pittsfield, PA. , and her brother Elmer B. Woods, Jr. ; grandson Issac Wallette of Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Anissa(Chad)Greenawalt of Warren, PA. , Nikki(Kevin)Airaudi of West Bend, WI; Jason(Melissa)Woods, West Bend, WI, Brian Woods of Los Angeles, CA. Roger Calvin Carr, 74, formerly of Crookston, MN, passed away April 5, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center of Mayville, ND, early Tuesday morning, April 5, 2022. Roger was born on February 12, 1948 in Moorhead, MN to Chester and Maxine (Trader) Carr. He grew up in the Barnesville, MN area and attended Barnesville schools. He later began working at various jobs including construction work and truck driving. Roger was united in marriage to Mary Stephen on August 23, 1996 at Moorhead, MN. The couple made their home at Felton, MN until Mary's passing. Roger had previous marriages to Beverly Nodsle, Janie Seelye, and Beverly Johnson. From these unions 5 children were born: David, Troy, Becki, Kelly, and Bonnie. Roger moved to Crookston several years ago and until his retirement due to ill health had been a seasonal farming employee for the past 8 years for Owen Larson and his nephews, Ben and Matt Larson, at Climax, MN. Roger enjoyed visiting with family and friends and would give rides to anyone in need of transportation. He would often say to friends, "Lets go for a ride", which would usually end up at a casino; be it the Shooting Star, Seven Clans, or a new favorite, the Grand Casino. Roger would often go to Little Falls, MN to visit his nonbiological family and enjoy home cooked meals and barbecuing while playing Skip Bo or Corn hole. He loved animals, especially his cocker spaniel, Jazzy. Roger is survived by his children: David Carr of Fridley, MN, Troy Carr of Isanti, MN, Becki (Matthew) Braun of Sioux Falls, SD, Kelly Haraldsson of Farmington, MN and Bonnie Hall; brothers, David Carr of Beaverton, OR, and Andy Carr of Buffalo, MN; and special friends, Shannon Sykes and Allen of Little Falls, MN, and Kari and Bobby Nesvold of Little Falls. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Maxine Carr; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Mary Carr; and friend/companion, Susanne Gayton.
