Lewis Waters Obituary

Newburgh, INLewis Charles "L. C. " Waters, 76, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born January 29, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana the son of Charles Cliber and Mary Cooper Waters. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the owner and operator of 2 funeral homes, one in Union City, IN and one in Martinsville, IN. Lewis also worked at Parsons Funeral Home in Muncie, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Becky White, Phyllis Poindexter and Linda Froman. He is survived by two daughters, Yolanda Abbas (Mohammed) of Louisville, KY and Trela Waters of Muncie, IN and granddaughter, Batoul Abbas and his companion, Shirley Jorgensen. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, April 28, 2023, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Military Rites at the grave. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 6 PM Thursday, April 27, 2023, and on Friday from 12 PM until the service at 1 PM also at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the American Diabetes Association.
