GROESBECK - Lewis James Smith Jr., 87, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019. Lewis was born to Lewis Smith Sr. and Estelle Smith on Feb. 13, 1931 in Houston. He worked as a glazier for over 40 years. Lewis will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, particularly fishing and camping. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, of 56 years, Patricia Smith; parents, Lewis Smith Sr. and Estelle Smith; brothers, Maurice Smith and Joe Smith; and sisters, Ollie Williams, Mary Pond and Corrine Luce. Survivors: Sons, Charlie Smith, Dennis Smith and wife, Susan, and Gary Smith and wife, Linda; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Lewellyn Melton.
