Lewis "Bosco" Monroe Land, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away on October 2, 2023, in Casper, Wyoming Lewis was born on July 18, 1941, in Royse City, Texas He grew up in the Rowlett Rock Wall area of Texas and developed a deep attachment to his roots Throughout his life, Lewis pursued a career as a truck driver His dedication to his work was exemplary, and he spent many years behind the wheel, navigating the highways with skill and expertise Lewis's commitment and hard work were admired by everyone who knew him Aside from his professional pursuits, Lewis always placed great importance on family He cherished his loved ones and was known for his unwavering love and care towards them Growing up, he developed an unbreakable bond with his siblings Thelma, Margie, Dorothy, Eli, Bruce, Milton, and Mitchell Their shared memories will forever be treasured In 1983, fate brought Lewis into the life of Nancy "June" Bell when they met in Dallas, Texas Their enchanting connection blossomed into marriage later that same year Their union filled Lewis's heart with joy and love Tragically, Lewis and June experienced the profound loss of their son Jeremey, who was born in 1986 and passed in 1987 Despite the sorrow he endured with Jeremey's passing, Lewis held steadfastly to the love he had for his surviving son Jonathan Jonathan remained a pillar of support for Lewis throughout their lives together Lewis had an engaging personality that drew people towards him effortlessly He possessed a great zeal for music and took immense pleasure in strumming melodies on his guitar while playing bluegrass music His melodic tunes filled many hearts with joy In addition to Jonathan, Lewis is also survived by his children, Mike Clark, Hope White, Matthew and Maria Lewis's grandsons, Xander Land, Kemper Land, and Samuel Arnold immeasurable joy and pride into his life He cherished the time spent with each one of them, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished forever Lewis Monroe Land will be remembered as a devoted family man who dedicated his life to those he held dear His warm smile and gentle nature touched the lives of many May his memory live on through the love he shared and the impact he made on those who were fortunate enough to know him A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 12:00pm until the start of the service beginning at 2:00pm at Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home in Casper, Wyoming A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Friday, October 13, 2023, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas Lewis will be laid to rest at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point after services To to the family or in memory of Lewis "Bosco" Monroe Land, please

Gordon Cleveland Wood, a beloved member of the Edgewood community, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, at the age of 96. Gordon was born on October 6, 1927, in Lamberton, Arkansas, as the seventh of eight children born to Julius Cleveland Wood and Pearl Ethel Nash Wood. Gordon was known for his faith-filled nature and exuded wisdom and kindness in all aspects of his life. He was a man of strong character and lived his life guided by his principles. Gordon retired in 1985 from the pipeline industry after dedicating 42 years to his career. He began his career working for the War Emergency Pipeline during World War II, which later became Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation. Gordon enjoyed gardening and traveling with his late wife Rubye. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Gordon was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 75 years, Rubye Janelle Troxel Wood, his parents, three sons Samuel Wood, Dwight Wood, and David Wood, as well as seven siblings. Gordon was a devoted family man and is survived by his son Doug Wood of Edgewood, Texas. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Ben Wood, Jessica Behrens, Tyler Wood, Michelle Wood, Justin Wood, Rebecca Wood, Erika Wood, and Brad Wood, who brought immense joy to his life. Additionally, he leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren. Gordon was a devout and faithful member of the Church of Christ. He found solace and community at the Wills Point Church of Christ, where he worshipped and found spiritual guidance. Cynthia Marie Manion, 64, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2023, in Dallas. She was born on November 21, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. Cynthia was a courageous and friendly character, known for her strong-willed nature. Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Robert Manion, her mother Shirley Reynolds, her sons Daniel Manion (Cassie) and Colton Reynolds (Emily), her daughters Rebecca Manion and Chelsea Manion, her brother Gregory Dale Reynolds, Jr. (Amber), and her sister Laurie Walker (Don). She was also a cherished grandmother to Logan Martin, Audrey Manion, Josie Reynolds, and Zayden Manion. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Gregory Dale Reynolds. Cynthia graduated from Richardson High School as part of the Class of 1977. She proudly served in the United States Army and had a successful career as a Horse Racing Jockey from 1991 to 1992. Following her time in the racing industry, Cynthia dedicated 24 years of her life to Dallas Fire Rescue, serving the community from February 1994 to August 2018. Outside of her professional life, Cynthia had a deep passion for her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them, attending concerts, and raising longhorn cattle. A celebration of life graveside service for Blenda Rae Waldner, 76, of Wills Point, Texas will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas with Pastor Gary Weems officiating. Blenda passed peacefully December 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 15, 1947, in Marshall, Texas to Raymond Earlene and Myrtis Lucille (Harley) Herring. Throughout her life, Blenda always enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. During pleasant weather, you could find her in the yard or tending to her treasured brood of chickens. While working hard, Blenda loved to listen to Elvis Presley to help pass the time. Football season catches Blenda with her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, cheering them on every weekend. Blenda is preceded in death by her cherished son, Randall Douglas Waldner and parents Raymond and Myrtis Herring. Natalia De La Rosa passed away peacefully at her home in Wills Point on Thursday, November 23, 2023 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. She was 82 years old. Natalia was born on December 1, 1940, the daughter of Manuel Cerda & Juventine Ortiz Cerda in San Alberto, Coahuila, Mexico. She married the love of her life, Alberto De La Rosa on February 28, 1960, in Agujita, Coahuila, Mexico. They moved to Wills Point in 1969, where together they raised their eight children and owned a local business for several years. She enjoyed watching college football and girls' softball, along with other sports - especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Texas Rangers. She also enjoyed trips to play the slots & scratching lottery tickets. She was especially fond of gardening and being outside. She also really enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, father in-law, Crispin De La Rosa and mother-in-law, Trinidad Sifuentes. Natalia leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted wife to her husband, Alberto and devoted mother to six daughters and two sons - Bertha and Rudy Potts, Beatriz Moody, Maria and Brad Goggans, Virginia Minter, Norma and Mark Malone, Alberto Jr and Carol Ann De La Rosa, George and Holly De La Rosa and Carolina and Shane Harden. Alice Larene Null, a kind and loving soul, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on August 21, 1936, in Bettie, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of George Lee Oxford and Ruby Jane Bryce. Alice leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted mother to two daughters, Janie Huff and Janet Tiner. Her family expanded to include six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Alice spent over 20 years of her life working at Safeway, and upon retirement, she left a lasting impact on those she worked with. She had a passion for reading, solving puzzles, crafting, and indulging in the heartwarming stories of Hallmark movies. Her joy was evident in attending craft fairs, where she could explore her creative side, and in the moments spent with cherished friends and family. Throughout her life, Alice held steadfast to her Christian faith, finding strength and comfort in regular attendance at church. Her faith was a guiding light that shaped her character and touched the lives of those around her. Alice's warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will be greatly missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Doris Dossett

Age - 91

Doris Armstrong Dossett passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023 at Crestwood Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for 18 months. She was born on May 4, 1932 to William Evans Armstrong and Betty Clema Solomon Armstrong in Hiram, Texas. She attended and graduated from Wills Point public schools. In April 1950, she married Billy Richard Dossett and they were happily married until his death in 1992. Interestingly, Doris was the youngest of five children and Billy was the oldest of five children. They had two daughters, Sharon Belew of Wills Point, Texas and Carolyn Miller of Brenham, Texas. Doris was a faithful member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school classes, and worked in the adult and youth ministries. She had enormous talent for crocheting and made wonderful gifts and keepsakes for family and friends. Doris had a successful career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she worked for 35 years. She traveled to New York during 1974 to work on the divestiture of Southwestern Bell later known as AT&T. She retired in 1986 to spend more time with family and friends. Doris was first and foremost a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was known affectionately as "Granny" and took great joy in cooking special meals for her family and loved to host Thanksgiving every year. Her homemade chocolate and coconut meringue pies were family favorites. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dossett; daughter, Sharon Belew; and son-in-law, Thomas Belew. She is survived by her daughter, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and five great granddaughters. A visitation was held for the immediate family, and Doris was laid to rest at Rader Cemetery in Kaufman County. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and caregivers at Crestwood Rehabilitation Center for their kindness, care and devotion for Doris during the past 18 months. Sarah Jane Otto, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the age of 80. She passed away peacefully in her home in Corpus Christi, TX surrounded by her family and her caregiver, Janie Rubio. She was born at home on May 12, 1943, in Wills Point, TX to her parents, Hugh Irving Kent and Cora Pearl Mhoon Kent. She grew up in the Alsa Community just north of Wills Point, where she attended grade school. The family moved to Terrell, TX where Sarah attended Junior High and High School. A Memorial Service will be held on December 2, 2023, at 11 AM at the Weber Road Church of Christ, 5253 Weber Road, Corpus Christi, TX, providing an opportunity for those who knew and loved Sarah to come together and pay their respects. There will be a visitation before the service from 10:00-10:45 AM. Sarah met Alfred Hallman Otto in Dallas, TX where they later married at White Rock Lake. The couple resided in Terrell, TX for several years and relocated to Stephenville, TX in 1976. Al was an independent milk distributor for Borden Dairy and Sarah helped him with his business. They had a great life together raising the girls, Pamela, Kimberly, and Charlene. She was a devoted wife to her husband Al, lovingly caring for him throughout their marriage until he lost his battle with cancer in 1989. Sarah had numerous jobs throughout her life beginning at age 13 painting a house in Big Springs, TX, followed by working at Dairy Queen in Terrell, TX. In Dallas, TX, she worked at Home Furniture Company and in the Psychiatric Ward at the Parkland Hospital. She owned and operated D&D Grocery Store in Terrell, TX. After moving to Stephenville, TX, she worked as a switchboard operator at United Telephone Company, owned Otto's Crafts & Gifts, worked in the cafeteria at the Junior High School, and worked at Norton Abrasives Company. She provided 24-hour care to Alzheimer's patients through her company, Angel Wings and concluded her working career as a nursing home activities director, providing care and support to others until she had to retire due to her health. Sarah's faith was an important part of her life, and she was a dedicated member of the Weber Church of Christ in Corpus Christi, TX. Sarah loved and served the Lord wholeheartedly. When she was able bodied, she was always at church volunteering wherever help was needed even though it wasn't always easy for her to do so. She worked in the food pantry at church for years. She continuously encouraged others by sending uplifting cards filled with love and prayers, until the loss of her eyesight. She had a strong faith and said that the Lord was by her side always. Her strength, love and faith has left a beautiful legacy in which we find peace and comfort. Over the years she had a passion for gardening, crafts, drawing and traveling. In her later years, you would find her most days sitting in her recliner watching Hallmark movies, figure skating or one of her many favorite shows. She waved at everyone who passed by her window as she sat watching the birds and squirrels playing in the birdbath. Sarah found immense joy in spending time with her family and, in her later years, cherished keeping up with friends and her loved ones on Facebook. Her greatest joy was her family. She said that her family was the light of her life but really, she was the light in all of ours. She was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Tommy Malone

In Loving Memory of Tommy Lynn Malone Tommy Lynn Malone, born on February 25, 1944, in Wills Point, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 peacefully at his home. He was the beloved son of Buck Martin Malone and Dessa Dee Stewart Malone. Tommy was a man of faith who loved the Lord and was knowledgeable in conversing the word. After graduating from high school, Tommy attended Henderson County Junior College and East Texas State University. During these years he forged lifelong friendships. From 1966 -1972 Tommy served in the United States Army National Guard. On January 28, 1967, Tommy exchanged vows with the love of his life, Linda Fox Malone, in Gainesville, Texas. They made Wills Point their home, creating a life full of love and shared experiences. Tommy dedicated 32 years of his life as a fireman with the Mesquite Fire Department. He was a valued member of the Independent Cattlemen's Association, serving on the Board of Directors for several years, he was also a lifetime member of the American Hereford Association. His passion for Hereford cattle started in 1957, and until his passing, Tommy continued to support the growth of the breed that he loved. He also had a special love for border collies and raising quality hay. This reflected his love for animals and the land. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Dessa Dee Malone, sister Elaine Malone Blair, and brother James Mac Malone. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Malone, their children, Tonya Rabenaldt and husband Lance of Early, Texas, Brad Malone and wife Holly of Wills Point. William (Bill) Dukes, 61, a man defined by exceptional courage, boundless love, and selfless generosity, passed away quietly at his home in Wills Point, Texas, on November 5, 2023. Born on September 4, 1962, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, Bill's life was marked by ceaseless love for family and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors. Brought up in a heartfelt family, Bill was the cherished son of the late Sally and Jimmy Dukes. Jane Dukes of Collinston, LA was a loving mother. A loving brother, he is survived by his siblings: Jimmy (Jimbo) Dukes and wife Suzonne, Scott Dukes, Barbara Lynn Moncrief and husband Monty, Debbie Smallwood and husband Bill, and Alice Dukes. His roots instilled in him an understanding of family and the sanctity of those bonds, which he carried into his own next generation. He also survived by his children and grandchildren: Chris Balentine and his wife Cynthia, and his daughters Jennifer Uptain and her husband Mike, Stephanie and her husband Aaron, Tiffany Corbett and her husband Landon.
