Leta Mccoy Obituary

Leta B. McCoy, 80, passed away at home on May 5, 2023, with her husband by her side. Leta was born May 20, 1942, in Claremont, NH to Earle and Irene (Porter) Crowell and was raised in Barnard, VT with help of Kenneth and Irma Wilson after the death of her mother in 1948. She married Alan D. McCoy on May 9,1959 in Bethel, VT. They lived in South Royalton for many years before moving to the Upper Valley and eventually settling in Wilder, VT in 1983 where they have lived since. She had worked at a Poultry Plant, Granite Glove and Ward Baking and then and in 1980 began work at Split Ball Bearing, now Timken Aerospace. She retired in 2007 after 27 years of service. She enjoyed spending time during the summer at Hampton Beach with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and in her earlier years enjoyed the self learned craft of leatherwork. She made leather wallets, handbags, coin purses and anything else she could think of making with her leather toolkit. She was preceded in death by her brother Phillip that died in birth, her mother Irene in 1948, her father Earle in 1977, Kenneth Wilson in 1995 and Irma Wilson in 2004. She is survived by her loving husband Alan, her children Annette Courtemanche (David) of Greenfield, NH; Alan D. McCoy, Jr. (Lisa) of Willow Spring, NC; Christina (Tina) Tuthill (Doug) of Pomfret, VT and April Smith (David) of Wilder, VT; 10 Grandchildren: Burt Courtemanche, Cissy Rice, Jody McCoy, Jenny Bernier, Justin Tuthill, Zach Leno, Tiffany Leno, Brittany Mulvey, Brandi McCoy and Brenden Smith and 13 Great Grandchildren: Autumn Rice, Jacob Rice, Abigail Courtemanch, Grace Courtemanche, Ian Courtemanche, Alexis Courtemanche, Allie Curtis, Taelyn Langley, Zoey Bernier, MacKenzie Bernier, Victoria Tuthill, Veronica Tuthill and Brelynn Mulvey. She is also survived by her sister Susan Barrett and husband Ralph of Wilder, VT along with Brothers-in-Law, Sister-in Law and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Silver Lake Cemetery in Barnard, VT on May 20, 2023, at 10:00am. A gathering will be held afterwards at the Pomfret Town Hall. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences to
