Sensat, James ElHugh, 93, a resident of Crowley, went to his eternal home on February 15, 2024. He was a retired self employed sign painter after working for 55 years. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary from 9:00 a.m. until mass at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Fr. Lamar Partin. Burial will follow in LA National Cemetery, Zachary. James is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Bettie Jeanne Legros Sensat, daughter, Philomena Slaughter and husband Mansel "Spec" Slaughter of Jackson, grandchildren, Spencer Slaughter (Lacey), Sarah Hearld (Jesse), Cody Slaughter (Katey), John Michael Slaughter, Randee-Lyn Slaughter, Tyler James Slaughter, Charlee Marie Slaughter, Marley Michael Hearld, Oliver Spence Hearld, Ruston Hugh Slaughter, Sadie June Slaughter and baby Casen Joseph Slaughter expected February 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Lilia Tanner Sensat, nine siblings, Stanley Sensat, Percy Sensat, Curtis Sensat, Bootsie Sensat, Hazel Armentor, Florence Bossley Prevost, Una Thibodeaux, Eunice Flash and Leatrice Lormand. Pallbearers will be Spencer Slaughter, Jesse Hearld, Terry Guidry, Cody Slaughter, Justin Zeringue and Raymond Richard. Honorary pallbearers are Chase Baldwin, Donald Comeaux, Mike Bossley, David Bossley and Roger Ghesquiere. James proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He attended St. Michael's in Crowley. He left in the 11'th grade to join the US Army. Only sixteen, he went to Germany and served as a military police at Hitler's Eagle's Nest. He loved reminiscing about his tour of duty. He was the youngest of 10 children. He loved praying the rosary, he prayed it at least 4 times a day and was so proud of his Catholic Faith. Loving thanks to Fr. Lamar Partin and the Sisters of Mary, Sr. Cielo and Sr. Michelle and the staff at Southwind Nursing Home, especially Beth who made sure his love Bettie was with him until the end. On Friday February 2, 2024, Angels quietly whispered in her ear and called her to her heavenly home. Brenda Sue Dargin was born on February 17, 1957, in Lafayette, LA to the late Lawrence and Hazel (Ceasar) Durgin. Brenda was raised by her Aunt Ella Ceasar in Fenton, LA, she later moved to Crowley, LA where she was loved and cared for by her Aunt Mary Soulaire and the late Donald Hill. She attended school and resided in Crowley until the time of death. She was a hard worker; she loved to cook and bake. Her favorite pastime was talking on the phone, watching her daytime stories and loving her family (especially Bam). Brenda was loved and cared for by all her aunts and uncles, and raised with her cousins as if they were her brothers and sisters.Brenda was survived by her brother, Jerry Lee Dregin and her forever sister-in-law Gretchen J. Dregin and Ronald T. Ceasar; her spouse of 35 years, Ronald W. Coleman; two sons, Kenneth W. Durgan of Sioux City, Iowa and Joseph E. Boutte Jr. of Lafayette, LA; three daughters, Lythania M. Boutte and Mary N. Boutte both of Crowley LA, and Luciana H.
